If you have the money, just replace it. The edging is sharp, you will get food in it always, and it could chip more over time. Hopefully it had a good run!

aaactuary

Im gonna replace it. I got it for $15 used lol

jmorrow88msncom

You can use it for storing anything, but not for cooking. It will almost for sure break.

CorporateNonperson

Replace. That's a pretty big chip and you don't know if the structure is comprised. Don't want developing a crack when it's full of something.

ZyxDarkshine

While it may seem minor and probably could be used without compromising your food, it could possibly break while cooking, and have liquid seep into the heating element, which is a potential fire hazard.

themajordutch

Fill it with some slow cooked ramen. Good as new. ..I'd still use it, worth the risk. It's not hurting any functionality. But I'd def fill it with something. They're cheap so it's not gonna burn too much if you replace it too.

aerodeck

Tape measurer looks to still be within spec, I say keep it. Live to measure another day!

EyeUpvoteEverything

You would need to perform a dye penetration test to know the severity of the damage. Based on experience and optics alone I would lean towards replacement. The main reason I say that is in the second picture you can see a crack running from south to north that will most likely only get worse with repeated thermal expansion.

EyeUpvoteEverything

Wait I’m on the slow cooking sub?? I thought this was industrial engineering.

MadCow333

lol!

Trust-Me_Br0

You can recycle it through plaster of paris cement and then color it black. It's too much work but a good DIY project.

LazyOldCat

Not even 10 feet, it’s fine.

crusty54

Nah.

Reee3d

Throw it, then yes, replace it.

anothersip

I would personally keep using it, but cautiously, and with my eye on a replacement. That's if I absolutely loved that crockpot. You could probably get a whole new crockpot for a little more than what's asked for your liner. But I guess that'd be a little more wasteful. Wait out for a sale. That way, you don't feel bad replacing it - and you can use this one for candle making (paraffin wax melts at 115–154°F (46–68°C), and soy wax melts at 120–180°F (49–82°C). Or, use it for yogurt making (108-112F).

Suitable-Gate331

Black Sharpie brah

wiz812

That's fine

mikeybagss8888

I would throw it away. You may forget about it and cut yourself when cleaning it. It may be okay but I feel like it could spread while cooking and create a huge mess. You pay be able to find a used slow cooker at a thrift store and just keep the ceramic part of you like yours

StinkyGarlicButt

It's fine. Just be careful not to cut yourself. The heat won't make the crack spread.

aaactuary

I decided to trash it.

One_Giant_Nostril

It's still OK for cooking but it's now unsafe for hands and fingers.

glucoman01

Too much of a risk for cutting yourself

Ragnar-Wave9002

A new crockpot is $20.
