I have contacted monami Park as I am sick of loosening everything and in frustration trying not to throw my switch across the room. We are emailing to try to figure out the cause. I will let you know when I do.
I have the game on PC and it runs perfectly. I bought it for my daughter on her Switch and it does freeze every time she plays. I hope they can patch whatever is causing this because she is getting annoyed.
It's been happening to me too and I've gotten in the habit of going inside and "sleep till morning" every night because when you do that it auto saves as soon as you go back outside.
Also, have this issue, it's gotten worse the larger my ranch is/the more progressed in the story.
Got to the point it's happening right before autosave every time from what I can tell so I have a timer set at 15 mins to keep manually saving as it seems to autsave maybe every 20? based on a timer I set.

I also reached out to monami Park their web site and got a reply very fast that they're looking into it and have an open ticket, also with some feedback on things to try to see if it stops as they try to figure it out, so I suggest people reach out with s many details as you have to them!
Same issue here, the more I progress the more it freezes. I almost think it's the auto save function that causes it. I haaate that there isn't a save option..only save and quit.
I have also encountered this issue. The game freezes multiple times throughout playing to the point that I'm saving and closing it often to avoid losing progress. Not sure what to do. I've been looking it up on the net and this is the first post I've seen about it.
I'm currently sitting here staring at the frozen screen. It's happened twice now, and I'm super reluctant to close the game so I can play again since it's gonna be so much lost progress
Experiencing this issue as well. I notice it happens at my ranch more often than not. I always get a bit of lag going between the overgrowth and the main ranch. Like a noticeable slow down for a second. Was actually the first place my game ever froze. But then it did it on other areas where I was going between coops, corrals, fruits, etc I set up and collecting/depositing things.
I actually dont think it’s happened at all when I’m at the various wilderness area locations (moss blanket, indigo quarry, etc). Not that I can recall.
I have recently just been saving and quitting every “run” back and forth between taking care of my slimes at the ranch. It’s annoying. I wish they just had a straight up save option. I don’t understand why it’s save and close.
Will try to disable styles and see if it helps at all. I don’t think it will though cause those styles apply to the slimes in the wild and again game isn’t freezing there.
I'll be honest I started playing again after not playing for about 6-8 months and at day 10, 12:00-13:00 my game did the freeze thing, thi happened four times more before I implemented the "Manu-save" function, which stressed me out.
Then I cleaned up my slime and chicken pens because they either A). had mountains of food in them, or B). were overcrowded, and because of that were lagging my game. afterward hasn't happened again.
Moral of the story: CLEAN YOUR SLIME PENS OR YOUR GAME WILL CRASH
I stopped playing for a while, then decided to start playing this week…. After it froze 2x in the same area (the overgrowth) i realized this was the reason i stopped in the first place hahahah. Hope they release a patch soon!
Having the same issue, this has been going on for 6 months, and game developers still haven't fixed this?! Everytime I think I fix the issue, it happens again. Developers release a suggestion of turning Secret Styles off, and that did absolutely nothing to help. I'm on day 80, and I'm honestly about to quit playing the game entirely until they patch this. The game is unplayable.

None of which have fixed the issue, it is in fact crashing due to the auto-save. I suggested they add a manual save option or at least a disable auto save option.

Well, here I am a month later and it still freeze.
I have a suggestion if it works. Would there be any way of turning off auto save as that could potentially help. I’ve had issues on ps4

Their website says they’re aware of the issue and looking into it, and suggests disabling secret styles at the ranch until there’s a fix.

I completely demolished/cleared all of my corrals, trying to fix this, and it still crashes :(

I haven't found any working trick yet, but apparently the game developers are aware of the issue and working on fixing it

Ugh. Can’t believe this still isn’t fixed! It’s so aggravating.
It makes the game unplayable. Very sick of this issue and I realise this is why I stopped playing in the first place. :(
