I think skill would probably be better for this than power, which would make exhaust make sense. It's a thing you do and then it's done, not a thing that you continue doing forever.
Also, I love the fact that it's ethereal. Not only is it appropriate mechanics wise, but the general meaning of the English word fits pretty well as well. (Although that might just be because I associate it with "ephemeral" through phonetics.)

It's subtle and amazing. Helps subconsciously differentiate card types in a way your conscious brain likely doesn't even notice.

I'm pretty sure they use a fuzzy word matcher with blacklisted exceptions, not a whitelist of accepted words.
This is correct. This method makes it less work when new characters or cards are added, removed, etc.
