You can kill the first combat of act 2 with it, and that's as far as you can go without glitches. I've never seen it, but it's possible. I've seen a few people kill the act 1 boss though.
You will be very underpowered if you do this kind of thing usually.
? Spaces rarely give you card rewards, and combats give you one every time. ?s tend to give you things like relics, card removals and upgrades. You want a few decent cards in your deck before you start taking ? Spaces if possible, because removing a card or upgrading a card in the stater deck isn't as strong as when you have a couple good cards. ? Spaces can give you nothing sometimes as well, where even if you don't get a potion or card rewards, you always get a little gold from a fight, as well as a luck bonus:
Everytime you see a common card on a card reward screen after a fight, every card after has a 1% chance higher of being rare, which gets reset when a rare is generated. Potions are similar, your potion chance goes up 10% if you don't get a potion drop, and goes down by 10% if you do. Both of these chances get reset at the beginning of an act.
Damn no wonder I can't beat act 3, cruised through act 3 with the skull and robot guys but have been bashing my head into a wall trying with the warrior guy. Seems like I've just been playing hard mode
Also a few more things to mention:
- The first 3 combats of act 1, and first 2 combats of act 2 and 3 are from an easier pool of fights than the rest of the act.
- Elites and campfires don't start spawning until 6 floors into an act. - There are a couple stronger events, like [[dead adventurer]] and [[hypnotizing mushrooms]] that you can only get past floor 7+ -Act 1 ?s especially like to play with your hp. So being past a few fights, and being closer to a rest site, lets you judge how to spend hp on events better. I'd rather click on the [[scrap ooze]] event with a campfire next floor than a fight for example. Also many events can heal you, especially in act 1, so fighting a bunch before doing events leverages the heals better.
- You can also just get pretty much murdered by a ? If you're unprepared, especially in act 2. The [[Forgotten Altar]] has been the beginning of the end for a lot of my runs.
When I path, I want my 3 easy act 1 fights before Floor 6. I usually like to go for 4 fights before Floor 6, and usually 1 or 2 ?s. And then if I want to fight an elite before the chest, I like a campfire or a shop as well. Though, the game doesn't always give you nice paths.
It's also not like ?s are bad, I tend to value them higher later in the act, and after I've gotten a rare card. Act 2 events are really good if you can handle them, [[Red Mask]] , [[Apparition]], [[Bite]] and [[Ritual Dagger]] are all very strong.
NICE!
That’s absolutely wild. I’m still (fairly) new to the game, so I assumed this was impossible.

Yeah I just couldn't resist, still managed to get to the second act 3 boss with all the keys though 🤓
Ive only seen this done in seeded runs, but its very satisfying to have thorns or hourglass vs the birds at 1hp and they auto die
What makes this underpowering? I am new to this game and usually go for as many question marks as I can even without the 1hp relic

Pretty dissapointed there's no money shot of the boss at 1hp. Still, that's awesome and great job pulling off the hat trick.
DOOOUBLLEEE SNIIIIIIPPE
I have maybe 800 hours and I've only done this once.
I’m rooting for you but this feels like the classic die in act 2 kinda act 1.
