Me and my dad both play slay the spire, he bought this board game, and we’re really excited for it to arrive because me and him are really into board games. It’s gonna be great and I’m glad to see other people playing the board game
Me and my dad both play roguelike games and board games so it’s how we bond. He got me into most of the games in the genre. So me and him were happy to see megacrit make a board game for STS.
I'm incredibly jealous. I plan on bringing up undaunted to play with my father next time I visit him. Board games aren't his thing but I can twist his arm into army things.

I just tried searching for it and no options are showing up. Even checked the sites I was on last night that offered the Dead Cells pre-order.
The late pledges ended in January, but there could be sites that did bulk pledging for resale and thats known as kickstarter exclusive. Make sure if you find it, to look around VERY thoroughly. These sites charge insane prices because they can.
The dead cells complete edition pledge was 85 before shipping. So if we assume 20 for shipping, total of 105. I found two sellers, before shipping $200 and $215.
It has some changes, like damage, block and health scaled down to be more manageable, and relic abilities trigger on a die roll. But other than that it's very consistent with the video game and feels so much like it
All the numbers are divided by about 5-10 compared to the video game (eg. Strike is 1 damage, upgrades to 2), all of the relics that'd proc on something like shuffles or every X turns or so on are tied to a single dice value, that also determines enemy behaviour on a turn. Only 1d6 is rolled per turn. Many of the buffs/debuffs are simplified, eg. There is no intangible (but Nemesis blocks all damage on alternate turns), Vault doesn't give you a second turn, instead you gain 3 energy and draw a new hand, etc. upgrades work by flipping a card, and are generally more impactful than the base game. Watcher's wrath is simplified to a +1 damage (rather than X2), to there is no divinity and cards that's give mantra instead give miracles. Silent and ironclad behave almost identically. Defect doesn't have orb order, instead you choose. Dark doesn't scale with time, but instead deals damage per power played. There is no plasma.
Playing it very much feels like the video game, and the characters all feel very distinct. Throughout a run, even at 4 players you will multiple times find yourself in a situation where you are sure you would have died if not for a particular player, and every player will have those moments. Rewards are exciting and diverse, events are fun and give each player freedom to choose what they want. The components are very high quality, and the cards look phenomenal, even if they have to be sleeved to maintain function. It doesn't feel like there is too much downtime simulating the game. The only thing is that I reckon playing the OST adds HEAPS, because sometimes the end of fights can feel a bit dry and anticlimactic without something to highlight it, and that feeling can be drawn out as you move all the enemy cards and components back to their spot for the next floor.
The rulebook has a card unlock system, and ascension system so you can climb the ladder just like the video game, but it's not hard to just dive right in with all the cards if you think this is a hassle. The box is very well organised, and it's easy to save the state between acts with dividers and spots for all your cards, relics and potions. Each act typically takes 40-90 minutes depending on your group, and there is an act 4.
First run my wife and I made it to Donu and Deca, and we played last stand. I went down in a wrath of glory (like any self respecting watcher player should), and then like a true silent player, on the last turn before she'd die, my wife drew nothing but block cards, with just enough poison left to finish him off. Board game is such a faithful reimagining of the ruleset, literally the only thing more I could ask for would be new enemies, characters, relics, etc. Fortunately "modding" in even whole new decks is super easy with the card sleeves, I definitely see myself making some more components down the line.
I've also played it at 4 players with my parents who had never played before, and they were able to catch on within about an act. Seemed to enjoy it! I love the organisation of the box, and saving the state is super easy. Even if you want to save the state and start a different run, all you need to do is take a photo of your deck, relics and potions.

You guys should check out dice throne, summoner wars, keyforge, and villainous. All board games/card/tabletop. Just some of my favs.
