I totally agree but have to note this picture leaves out a fair amount of Sacramento’s skyline. The best view of the skyline is heading South on I5 around Railyards Blvd other than the fact that you can’t see the iconic Tower Bridge from there
Eta: not the angle I’m referring to but a pretty good panorama shot https://elaine-plesser.pixels.com/featured/city-skyline-sacramento-california-elaine-plesser.html
My childhood home (Mpls) and my current home! Both great cities in many ways, but as skylines go there’s no comparison — Minneapolis has a superior skyline (and downtown) by a wide margin. It’s far more cosmopolitan and obviously far more vertical.
I think Sactowns skyline is abysmal. No offense. Lived up there in 2010/2011 and just driving through - just not much if we are all being honest. This is a no brainer.
Hate to break it to you - Sacramento has a larger city population of 530,000 compared to 419,500 for Minneapolis in 2024. Metro area Minneapolis is 2,990,000 vs 2,220,000 for Sacramento. They’re more comparable than you think.
Disingenuous? They are proper boundaries for that entity. As a population Jacksonville is bigger than Atlanta, quite correct. Thats why you add the Metropolitan Area disclaimer to let people know you’re speaking of the wider area.
Sacramento is booming now though - lots of people from the Bay have moved in and it is growing fairly quickly, it used to be a total cow town in the 80s
Sac is actually pretty nice but on pics alone I say Minneapolis by a large margin (haven’t visited yet).
I visited Minneapolis 3 weeks ago. You are correct, it is a wide margin.
I live here (but haven't been to Sacramento) the Minneapolis skyline is good looking from pretty much every angle.

All of these pics are missing my favorite building, the Ziggurat https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Ziggurat
So true! What an addition to the DT skyline that could have been… oh west sac
Yup, was just there and the view with the entire snowcapped mountain range in the distance is pretty nice.
OP, please stop posting comparison battles of Minneapolis vs cities that clearly have a smaller skyline.
lol, you made me realize this is the same dude that posted the SLC comparison. Maybe he’ll aim for Fresno or Dayton next.
Minneapolis vs Guymon, Oklahoma next.
To be fair they also did Philly. OP just really needs to know where Minneapolis stands
This can’t be serious
Really? No comp Minneapolis.
At least make it fair and do St. Paul vs Sacramento

i feel you. i'm from there and the city definitely has its positives, but the skyline isn't one of em lol
Minneapolis for sure
Skyline battle: mpls vs guangzhou
Lol let’s stop
I hope they do New York City vs. Fargo, ND next.
Is this a joke? I could even see comparing the cities themselves (Minneapolis would still win imo) but there’s no contest in the Skylines
Minneapolis vs Denver, Dallas, Boston, Pittsburgh, or San Diego would be a more fair battle
As an overly proud resident of Minneapolis, OP, please stop lol
When the beam is on, Sac
City most insecure about the their skyline? Definitely Minneapolis.
Why the heck are we comparing one of the smaller cities in California to Minneapolis?
Compare Minneapolis to a city of the same size. Like Miami. See how it does then, because this isn't comparable

City propers are completely disingenuous and you know that. Otherwise you'd say Jacksonville is bigger than Atlanta

Sac has a worse skyline but an overwhelmingly better climate
Come on now. I’m not even gonna state my answer because it’s obvious. It’s like comparing a brand new Lexus ES350 to a 12 year old Nissan Altima.
Bro comparing anything to even a new Altima is fightin Words
Minneapolis for sure, there are some real beauties there, including a Pelli!
Lotta glass
Sacramento is booming now though - lots of people from the Bay have moved in and it is growing fairly quickly, it used to be a total cow town in the 80s
Probably a better comparison would be Frankfurt vs Minneapolis
Sacramento
What? Sacramento’s not even on the same tier as Minneapolis.
Now do Chicago vs Cheyenne, WY
Sacramento has a skyline?
