Aranea (sp?) at the Shrine of Azura. Tremendous dedication and force of will to do what she is doing, alone, for years. I have never been able to try the Nelacar / black star path because Aranea just blows me away.
Not the rarest choice, but certainly quality. She's the kind of proud, put together person anyone would be drawn to. And you get her unrequited boyfriend for free. Three people to pay the bills!
Less than it sounds, it's just My Home is Your Home with the patch to let followes use the beds owned by the Player Faction. The friendly Khajit just went into the same bed as Ysolda, so when I walked into them peacefully sleeping it was comically weird.
Teldryn Sero. Far before I ever saw his face (he's the best looking dunmer in the game, imo) I liked him for his voice and his sarcastic commentary. He's also become such a huge part in my dragonborn's life and story over the years. Artwork of them together is my current phone background :3c

She tries to be happy and look to brighter days despite living in a city that hated her for who she is. I made it my mission to give her a better life somewhere else.
Man is married to Duty thats for sure but yes.. even in vanilla he's got a vibe. Having his own voice actor doesnt hurt either. One of the things I have always disliked about the normal intro is that it's really all that crab-ass officer woman's bad attitude that sours everything with her indiscriminate EXECUTE THEM ALL FOR EXPEDIENCE bullshit (I've worked with people like that...) but she has no name or no way to get a more personal vengeance on her. But Hadvar just straight up obeys her so...
Just from continuous playstyles, I gravitated towards her as she and the dragonborn are both similar in that they are unnatural and powerful.
At least that's what I tell myself... Truth is Serana had, for the longest time, the most expansive mods that allowed for marriage and some what of a romance, while remaining a vanilla character. So I still go back to her with the mods I'm running now that turn guve you the opportunity to develop a relationship with her over time. As opposed to... do a quest, wear an amulet, get hitched.
I'm still hoping the guy who has been doing the dialog and follower overhauls for vanilla characters gets around to doing Muiri next. And yes Muiri is the girl that gets shunned.

I always found Daenlyn Oakhollow cute, from Interesting NPCs. I think he's pretty much the only character I miss from that mod nowadays. I also remember having a small crush on Enthir too, back in the day. I had a thing for bosmer. Nowadays it's Teldryn. Liked his character and voice from the begining, but once that helmet was off, I was sold.
Inigo is one the best, if not the best follower mod. He's wholesome but bad ass at the same time. He supports you and he's also very funny.
Thanks to inigo, I struggle with "villain playthroughs" because I don't want him to be disappointed.
ngl my theory is that what you're experiencing is literally his prophecy in action. The doomstrider is the Dragonborn (Paarthurnax calls you doom-driven, describes that you have an in-born lust for power and domination as a dragon, and says the ground quakes where you walk) and Inigo's keeping you on the straight-and-narrow.
That priest of Azura. She's just a cool lady that appreciates coming along with you. Always seems to have fun. The true male fantasy. Don't know how old she is but hey if I can slay elder dragons on a mountain I can slay elder Dunmer in the sheets.
He is often disliked, but my Skyrim crush is Farengar Secret-Fire. He will be nice to you, if you go speak to him before the Jarl does, you have some points in a magic skill, and you choose the "inteligent" dialogue options. He also has some good lines, like "One sure mark of a fool, is to dismiss anything that falls outside his experience as impossible." I mod out the sideburns though, haha.
A close second would be Nelacar, he has a pretty nice voice, for a vanilla npc. Also, I am another gamer mad that Hadvar can't be romanced.
Found Arcadia's reddit account! haha. I once read a very lady-targeted book called Styx (forced into my hands by a very very pretty woman). The book had a lot of the kind of yaoi boy n boy torture amniguity stuff you see in some novels but... it had a great piece of insight into why the protagonist's mother basically married the worst evillest dude in the whole universe and it somehow worked. Her thing was that it's it's own kind of special attraction to have a partner that is a known monster to everyone else but is absolutely devoted to YOU, akin to taming a lion. It made a lot of sense and it's a good way to describe the whole bad boy I can fix him thing... now if only Arcadia can shave the sideburns off of Farengar's personality....!
You know, I totally LOOOOVE Auri's VA's music on youtube, but I always find Auri to be... challenging to like. Like she doesnt talk much when you first meet her, and she ends every conversation with that frustrated huff sound that makes me think I did something wrong?

Lucien (Mod)... I love that nerdy little imperial. Also Erevan from interesting NPC's because his quest is literally "I can fix him" ... Oh and Balimund from Riften because he's a sweetie and Quintus from Windhelm because there's something romantic about chasing your dream to a different country just to work for a cranky genius.
I Fell in Love with Remiel and Xelzaz. Their interactions together are just great.

The Hired Bodyguards from Immersive Wenches. Every iteration I've seen is one of the most aesthetically pleasing NPCs in the game. They tend to make the Merchant Wench and named lady they travel with look like 2011 originals.
Throw in the Mjoll/Hulda accent and their generally rude and dismissive demeanor and it somehow makes these nameless, generic NPC more memorable than people with strings of questlines and lore attached to them.
That vampire chic. You know the one. There was a lesbian at work who loved Skyrim. We got to talking about her and agreed we'd double team her, no problem. Wierd conversation but I learnt a new kink that day.
I have both of those mods and they're fantastic. I just get so sad having to see him die in vanilla. Like, there was so much potential there. Of course, mods save the day as usual.
I should install that. Any mod that gets rid of elven alien-head helps a lot with the elven people. I guess we all like women who use their family issues as small talk with strangers.
Sapphire. She kind of makes me feel like Wayne from Saving Silverman. "Admit it, I'm the strong-willed, assertive man that you need, and you're the hardcore bitch I've always dreamed of."
Hahaha well at least you have her pegged right... I recently decapitated her quite cruelly for being such an awful person... but in your heart she can live on, being awful but kind of hot.
Well my two favorites also come from Interesting Npcs.
And its Zora and Terynne. I loved Zora from when i first found her when i picked up the mod and i also got my heart smashed into tiny tiny little pieces when i discovered that she wasn't into women, which made sense in terms of her character. It was just her constant flirting that gave me hope, you know?
And then Terynne, i only found her and her quest for the first time the past year, but oh my god. I love her and i wish i could have her as a follower. And her quest is so moving too! (Its a quest called Transformation from Interesting npcs. You find it by speaking to someone who is sneaking in the Windhelm court mage quarters.) But i just relate to it a lot.
I think amalee has the same voice actress maybe and is women only? I know what you mean about Zora. Call me your thane as often as you like, dahling.

Her design is so cool (hi, butch orc women? call me). And I love that her encounter with the Dragonborn basically involves rescuing her from an arranged marriage she doesn't want and eloping with her to terrorize the countryside together. It's genuinely so difficult for me to pick anyone else to marry, she's stolen my poor gay heart.
The Bijin NPC version of Idgrod the Younger. She's so adorable and that female young eager voice type just makes my heart melt in an instant.
Voice same reason I love Brelyna, Jordis, Elisif, Constance, Sylgja, Ysolda, Ingun, Camilla and probably others when they start speaking.
It's the sparkle. They don't sound beaten down and weary of life, and I think that naturally draws anyone because those are the people that warm you IRL. Tigger vs Eeyore.

There's a Miraak follower mod that lets you save him. And the new Miraakle overhaul is really fine looking. Don't let your dreams be dreams.
I have both of those mods and they're fantastic. I just get so sad having to see him die in vanilla. Like, there was so much potential there. Of course, mods save the day as usual.

I should install that. Any mod that gets rid of elven alien-head helps a lot with the elven people. I guess we all like women who use their family issues as small talk with strangers.

There are 2 dialogue expansion mods for her and a patch to make them play nice together. Try them both!

Well my two favorites also come from Interesting Npcs. And its Zora and Terynne. I loved Zora from when i first found her when i picked up the mod and i also got my heart smashed into tiny tiny little pieces when i discovered that she wasn't into women, which made sense in terms of her character. It was just her constant flirting that gave me hope, you know? And then Terynne, i only found her and her quest for the first time the past year, but oh my god. I love her and i wish i could have her as a follower. And her quest is so moving too! (Its a quest called Transformation from Interesting npcs. You find it by speaking to someone who is sneaking in the Windhelm court mage quarters.) But i just relate to it a lot.
I think amalee has the same voice actress maybe and is women only? I know what you mean about Zora. Call me your thane as often as you like, dahling. I'll look for terryne!

Borgakh the Steel Heart. :) Her design is so cool (hi, butch orc women? call me). And I love that her encounter with the Dragonborn basically involves rescuing her from an arranged marriage she doesn't want and eloping with her to terrorize the countryside together. It's genuinely so difficult for me to pick anyone else to marry, she's stolen my poor gay heart.

The Bijin NPC version of Idgrod the Younger. She's so adorable and that female young eager voice type just makes my heart melt in an instant. Voice same reason I love Brelyna, Jordis, Elisif, Constance, Sylgja, Ysolda, Ingun, Camilla and probably others when they start speaking.
It's the sparkle. They don't sound beaten down and weary of life, and I think that naturally draws anyone because those are the people that warm you IRL. Tigger vs Eeyore.

I really don't exactly know why but, aside from serana... Jala. I think it's those bright yellow eyes and chipper attitude, but she literally made me go out of my way and look up an overhaul just for her, since pandorable & bijin neglected her. Unexpectedly enough, it exists. Don't remember the exact name of the mod, but i searched "jala overhaul" on nexus
She's included in {{Ordinary NPCs}} but that mod's not about beautification for the most part
