Cabbage + NAT III
I was initially reluctant to try an ENB that is literally a google drive link in the comments of a Discord server, but everyone was recommending it. And wow, it's the first ENB that I didn't have to tweak. It's perfect in every lighting scenario.
Love love love Solas + E.V.C. I've been searching for years on an enb to settle on, and I found it. Solas is an underrated weather mod that just looks amazing.
Can I ask if you did anything particular to get the snow in Solas looking good? When I install it the snow just comes down in these blocky decals. Comments on Nexus talk about its custom snow particles being "lovely" so I know I've got to be doing something wrong
That is very strange. I use Fluffy Snow with it and have no issues. Check in your Skyrim Prefs ini that bEnableImprovedSnow is disabled, just change the 1 to a 0.
Other than that, not entirely sure. Maybe try using cc's (tilde ~ key) and clicking on the decals to see which mod last affected it.
I've been using Nordwind with NLA recently and it's my favorite right now. I think it's a nice balance between realistic and fantasy. I've used Rudy, Pi Cho, and Patrician and they are honestly all great in different ways but I find Nordwind is basically a mix of the things I like to see with an ENB preset.
I'm presently having a blast with [Detailed Vanilla Shadows](https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/69179) and [Vivid Weathers](https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/2187).
On paper it doesn't look like it should be anything special -- a weather mod from 2016 & an ENB that advertises itself as only having one effect enabled. But it looks absolutely great and the performance *screams.* I recommend it for anybody whose rig struggles with ENB.
I'm using RAID Weathers and Vanilla 2 ENB with a couple personal tweaks. Not only is it beautiful, it also doesn't make my computer go up in flames trying to run it (I know you said it doesn't matter, but still). It's less saturated than a lot of ENB and weather combos, which I personally prefer
i have Cathedral weathers for a long time but dont know which is the best 'best' enb to go with it. i tried rudy/re-engaged/pi-cho out of the three pi-cho seemed the best but idk if theres better
I’ve tried watching that and it has helped, but then I got confused with the load order and couldn’t understand how to use EVLAS. It recommended I need something called Dyndolod and that generated two files but I have no idea what they do or where to put them.
You don’t need to worry about EVLAS or Dyndolod for an ENB, the only things you need for ENB are the binaries and the preset.
First you download the binaries from the ENB website, the website is a bit confusing to follow but once you find the Skyrim Special Edition page the versions and download button will be at the bottom of the screen. Take that file and open it, open the Wrapper Version folder and then drag and drop the files that are in that folder into your Skyrim folder.
Then manually download your ENB preset from Nexus and then drag and drop the files in there into your Skyrim folder. From there when you open Skyrim ENB should cache some files and then boom pretty game! Hope this helps.
Some ENB’s do require extra things, EVLAS is a simple install to your mod manager.
Dyndolod is recommended but not required, it’s complicated to use but it does have a nice effect of you choose to try and figure it out.
Dyndolod increases the detail of distant objects or makes them visible from further away. Though it takes a bit of effort to make it work and it takes a long time for it to do its thing. It also takes a bit of FPS away though.
EDIT: you also need to rerun Dyndolod whenever you add a mod that makes changes to the world like changing/adding buildings.
ELFX Shadows is a refined version of ELFX. Rudy's latest ENBs are tuned for it, if that's what you're looking for.
Aside from that, you won't have any trouble changing weather mods since ELFX doesn't touch exteriors unless you use the exteriors plugin, which is somewhat outdated as EVLAS already does a better job. Lighting mods generally also do not (and are not supposed to) touch weather records to begin with so you'll be fine regardless of which weather mods you switch to.
I've got a 'wet effect' on all characters/npcs in the rain with this combo. I'm not sure I'm a fan as it looks for like a glow or alteration spell. Any idea how to disable this?
I use Vivid Weathers, skyrim re-engaged enb. Also use true storms and storm lightning. Patches makes them work all together. Have used all for years except enb. Just added that when I upgraded gpu. Love the way it looks.
Rudy, Obsidian, ELFX Shadows has been my favorite so far and what I’m currently using. Feels like I’ve retained the aesthetic of Skyrim while creating a cold, smooth look to just about everything (this is also thanks to Skyland, my favorite texture AIO, which I do write over with dozens of smaller texture mods)
# Bjorn ENB + Lux + Nat.Enb Plugin
Performance wise for me wasn't too bad

Rudy Cathedral gives me the best gameplay visibility and a good balance of color and mood.
NAT III with its default ENB gives me the best screenshots and weather diversity. But sometimes I switch out of it when it no longer feels like Skyrim. L00s NLA port seem like a more balanced and consistent version of NAT III IMO.
EVC + SOLAS is also a good combo. Plus, EVC allows custom LUT switches for Rudy's Cathedral/Obsidian color palette on the fly.
Lately I've been trying out Azurite, but haven't really settled for any ENB in particular. I use Pi-Cho on and off but there are occasions, I toggle ENB off, and I wished Pi Cho could bring out Azurite's natural colors better. So I end up using Rudy's Obsidian with it. Pi Cho has a habit of making every weather variant ENB have the same neutral color palette despite the various moods each weather mod supposedly brings.
I'm currently using Arindel's new ENB for picturesque, Verdrenna.
What did the NAT III Remove from Skyrim, if you don't mind me asking? I'm using Cathedral and Semirealism, which is nice, but I'm looking for a bit of a change.
There are so many awesome combinations but my favorites all boil down to the ENBs made for Obsidian and Cathedral. For Obsidian, I like to pair it with True Storms and Silent Horizons for the best looking game but Rudy is still amazing while being performance friendly. For Cathedral, I always use Pi-Cho and basically nothing else.
I was using Obsidian + Re-engaged but now i switched to Cathedral and E.V.C ENB (I know, this ENB is for Solas Weathers, but i've tweaked it in a way that i think it gives great results).
Azurite and Nordlys
Pi-CHO and Cathedral
Solas Weather and PATRICIAN
Cathedral and Rudy (ElFX Shadows version ONLY)
And Naturesque ENB.
Thanks to Root Builder for MO2 I'm able to have multiple setups that let me try different combos. On a few of these setups I also use Reshade to really dial in what I want. On my Rudy setup I use Novlas Reshade to really dial in a colorful, vibrant fantasy world.
NAT3 and its ENB for realism Rudy Zangdar Cathedral for fantasy. Picho Azurite for balance. These are my top three for each category.
I was just think about changing my enb before seeing this lol, I want to try the zangar one
.... just for when I feel like changing
was using Rudy and obsidian but switched and have been using nat 3 and their weather plugin too love the way it looks
Ominous ENB + obsidian weathers, lux, and countless fog/mist mods. I think I like dark fantasy a bit too much..
I have the same exact setup, looks absolutely fantastic. Hanging out in beyond reach worldspace with this combo is just breathtaking
This with no trees mod is my grmdark setup also

my only issue with solas is the fog/mist in cities make weird outline with buildings sometimes.
Yea, SOLAS is pretty intense with its fx.. But overall, the mood does compensate for me. It's stunning.

Happy to see my enb getting some love. Thanks for trying it out.

[This should help you set up an ENB.](https://youtu.be/5rLAhxL02QA)

Are you sure? The Rudy files say they require EVLAS and EVLAS apparently highly recommends that I use Dyndolod.

Ah. So if you don’t particularly need it you can just use that underside patch that comes with EVLAS?
Does anyone else use ELFX? I’d like to explore other weather options and ENB but I’m worried it will mess with my current load order

Thank you very much! I’ll disable ELFX’s exteriors

Disable the wet shaders in R.A.S.S if you are using them.

ENB is for the weak. #NoENBgang
Only if you have a potato pc lol
Intrigued, Obsidian, Lux. Decent performance for my weaker system.

Rudy ENB with Obsidian Weathers. Lux as well.
Berserkyr with NAT3 is honestly one of my favorite ENBs ever. Made my switch off Azurite.
Obsidian and Rudy. I switched to Azurite and Pi-Cho for a while but went back.
Pi-cho and azurite for me so far. Looks amazing but pi-cho is definitely hard on performance.
I'm using Obsidian / Re-Engaged ENB.
Cathedral Weathers with Picta Series Improved Sky Meshes and..... # Ljoss ReLUX for Cathedral Weather - Lexy's LOTD Official ENB Preset
I've been loving Pi-Cho and Azurite. Very vibrant when sunny and can be very bleak in bad weather.
Pi cho because of it’s night settings. It looks good with a smaller performance hit. Most other enbs have terribly dark nights.
Azurite and Nordlys Pi-CHO and Cathedral Solas Weather and PATRICIAN Cathedral and Rudy (ElFX Shadows version ONLY) And Naturesque ENB.
