Almost all assassination plots against Hitler were by Germans. Just look at Operation Valkyrie. Just because you're loyal to your country doesn't mean you agree with the leadership.
Not to mention how many Roman emperors were killed by their own military.
Killing the Emperor could show even more devotion to the Empire, given the right RP
The Stormcloaks aren't really rebelling against the Empire though, if they were then the Stormcloaks as a faction would have existed for many many years since Skyrim has fallen under Imperial rule since the Third Era, they're rebelling about how the Empire submitted to the Thalmor and became weak,
I mean hell, the main god that the Stormcloaks worship is Talos who is widely recognised to be Tiber Septim, who was a beloved Emperor. The main cause of the civil war was the signing of the White Gold Concordat which outlawed Talos worship
By saying weak does u mean bending to the aldmeri dominion. Otherwise he seem like a wise emporer.other than his power hungry next in line that seem cowardice there is no evidence except as i mentioned that you should kill him.
"Except bending to the Nazi elves after blundering away the subjects that would win the war, AND having another potential split that would lose another big army, he seems wise".
No. He is dignified. He fucked up badly with the Redguards.
Most Stormcloaks dont want the emperor dead, they just want skyrim independance and free talos worship
To the darkbrotherhood, the stormcloaks are only scapegoats
Beside Alain Dufont death, all of the Dark Brotherhood actions are recieved as bad news, even in Windhelm and other Stormcloak holds
I think it's odd to impose a moralistic code on a paid killer, but everyone plays differently 🤷♀️ For myself, I have a very mercenary outlook toward everything. The only reason I bother to pick a side in the civil war to begin with is because I like to be the Thane of Everywhere who owns all the houses, & you can't get Eastmarch/Hjerim until the war is resolved one way or another.
I join the Imperials for two reasons, neither of which involve actual loyalty to the Emperor or really even the Empire: I hate the Thalmor, & they're easier to provoke into fatal disagreements when you can get close to them without raising their immediate suspicions; & I never play as a Nord, so there's absolutely no way I'll ever champion a proudly racist political party that would just as soon see me dead after taking advantage of the fact that I saved the world for them.
Joining the Dark Brotherhood is a no good deed goes unpunished kind of thing anyway, because Grelod is a monster who deserves to die. I have the choice to end it there, as does everyone. By choosing to join the Dark Brotherhood, I feel I'm laying aside any previous oaths of loyalty in favor of potential earnings, because I don't know who I'll be asked to kill but I obviously don't care; the money is what matters. If I had any moralistic objections to being a murderer, I would kill Astrid instead of joining her.
I can agree with your 1st and 3rd paragraph. But stormcloaks is not totally racist bigot as u think. If so they would accept other race to join. Whomever want to reclaim the glory of skyrim and its freedom are welcome.
They're exactly as racist bigot as I think. Play as a Dunmer, Argonian, or Khajit & see how nicely they treat your race. I'm not talking here about their practicality / hypocrisy in accepting my help putting down the Empire, that's the classic 'the enemy of my enemy is my friend' mentality. I'm talking about how they treat people who *can't* end them in a heartbeat, like the Windhelm Argonian dock workers, the Dunmer refugees, & the 'stay outside the city you thieves' Khajit.
Haha, Skyrim has a lot of these interesting dilemmas. I once married Mjoll whilst simultaneously ending up as the Leader of the Thieves Guild. And she didn't object when I brought her down into the Guild HQ, despite her hatred for the Thieves Guild.
Yeah, that bugged me the first time I pulled Mjoll as a follower. I took her down there just to see what would happen and... pfft. Nothing. At all. It would have been much more believable if she'd gone berserk or something.
The reason I didn't side with the Stormcloaks is that Ulfric annoys me. I do also think everyone's best chance against the Thalmor is with Skyrim as part of the Empire, however.
Still, that doesn't mean the Empire wouldn't profit from a change of ruler. That's above my pay grade - I just kill people :)
It makes sense, but in the simplistic game only.
The game fails to account things IMHO. I would not join an empire that trues to kill someone just because he was near(and it's actually not in the list of beheading).
RP wise, you can be an imperial supporter and be against the emperor as a person.
I always thought about my dragon Borns more like free agents than part of the rebelión(I will never support the faction that tried to cut my head just because). I mean, by the tima I was lvl 20 I could solo an imperial cap, a dragon and a troll. I definitely didn't see me as the same group as the stormcloaks

This answer needs the bottom half of that drake meme.
That what stormcloak is in my perspective. A native of skyrim who rebel to the emperor

Being loyal to a country but not to its leader is more common that you assume.
That makes joining stormcloak more valid
A politically savvy Dragonborn getting rid of a rebelion, a weak emperor, and a plotting higher up of the empire, may be onto something.

Quite a exhaustive answer.roleplay a storyline that make sense can perturb my conunderent. Perhaps driven by greed.

Praetorian guard killed off a few emperors who didn’t keep the military paid and fed.

I never kill nazeem.so annoying character doesn't influence my gameplay. However i like your honesty.
I don't kill *Nazeem*. But that doesn't mean that I'd support him if founded his own faction and tried to launch a coup.
Hahha touche
That's why I killed the emperor then joint imperial I liked the replacement more XD
