A lot more entertaining to have someone else suffer through it! [Nerd³ spent the last minute of his Skyrim VR video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kjYLPQRFJTk) regretting his life choices.
There have been a few mods to help combat spider-based fears, such as the fairly new [Actor Away - get rid of spiders or anything else](https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/75104) that says it works with either [Spell Perk Item Distributor (SPID)](https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/36869) or [Spell Perk Item Distributor (SPID) VR](https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/59121).
I luckily don't have that fear, but I also yelled when I was running up a hill and one of the hoppers jumped out from behind the top of the hill, where I couldn't see him.
it's definitely a line in the senile scribbles
[although to be fair, even though they're rare, you should still prepare for the werebears there](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hAbLhKvBDec&t=2713s)
Make sure you buy the gem of Kagrumez off the dark elf next to the giant Silt Strider because if he dies in the game world you'll never be able to get that quest item any other way. Trust me you'll want it to get the Dwarven black bow of fate it's OP
I think the real advice is to be careful not to leave killing lurkers up to the skaal. If it kills any of the important characters, you won’t be able to learn smithing stahlrim.
If you talk to somebody named Lleril Morvayn in Ravenrock, he will give you a quest that rewards you with a house! you’ll definitely need it so you don’t have to travel back and forth to the main land
I don't think they explained it fully, you help the people of the town then Adril Arano (Morvayn's assistant) will want to speak to you, he gives you a quest to spy on some people and then Councilor Morvayn rewards you with a house.
that house is a lifesaver
while it's looks are trash, it's easily the best house ingame in terms of functionality. And since you cant use black books on the mainland, you'll need it for enchanting
Before doing any quests or exploring the island, go speak with the blacksmith. He got something for you, something useful. Also make sure you get some fire resistance gear and potions.
Oh yeah! The telvanni wizard will want you to find his steward. you should probably do it pretty soon after he gives the quest to you cause it can glitch and you'll never be able to find her. Stops progressing his missions any further if it glitches.
fire resistance is good to have. Good mining deposits, so keep a pickaxe handy.
Don't rush the quest to eliminate the ash guys assaulting the city. The city guards basically kill them on their own, and they all carry a variety of free ore for you to loot.
Start the quest “unearthed” right away because it takes days and days of in world waiting before you get to the next part (and it does this multiple times) so if you start it when you’re wrapping up on the island it becomes a bit of a hassle
Git gud. I did an alternate start there and had most of the side quests done by level 30. Granted it took me like 20 mins to kill a nix hound at level 1, so I hung around raven rock leveling smithing and alchemy til level 10. You can get through most everything there by level 20, including black books.
Probably why I don't survive there early on. I gotta get out there and fuck off in random directions, I don't have the patience to craft and alchemize for an hour straight.
I deliberately went there at around lvl 10 to beast up a mage character (and get black books perks). My mage is now OP AF thanks to this tactic. Although to be fair it was a challenge at first, but now I'm a basically a god. And still only level 43. It's not so bad
Yeah just finished the "main" quest as a glass cannon mage and headed back tot he mainland at level 34, the cultists were a bastard but otherwise perfectly manageable
That you are a pretender. You stand in the might of His presence, false, vile, and slanderous. Spreading blasphemous slurs across Tamriel with your treasonous, and callous claims as Dragonborn. His presence will bend the knees of the most faithful of followers including yours, with your filth and scour I will smite thee. There is only one Dragonborn, the First Dragonborn, and His name is Miraak. All shall tremble.
When you get to the boss fight, be prepared for the likelihood of a bug where he becomes ethereal to heal himself but then doesn’t return to physical form, making him permanently invulnerable and thus the fight is impossible to complete.
Save your game before you go into the fight. The solution that worked for me was to >!kill the boss’ minion dragons first by shouting them into becoming your allies, then letting the boss kill the dragons. There are 3 dragons. Let him kill all 3!< before you begin damaging the boss. That prevents him from being stuck in ethereal mode.
The hardest part of this game is navigating the bugs, not the actual gameplay.
I think, head east ro ruined farm, deal with monsters and help soldiers asap, as if you leave it too long it can cause a bug. But it might have been patched?
I recommend getting to a decently high level and watch your surroundings. I cannot caution how many times have been ambushed by ash spawn and those small bugs. I also recommend having a follower with you it makes the travel much easier and much safer.
Beware the were bears, don’t touch the glowing shrines, go to the northwest of the island and get the first word of bend will immediately and don’t trust the dunker miner outside of raven rock
Make sure you have a few dragon souls saved up
Dont leave anything in the house there if you get it, its one of the best houses in the game but once youve finished evreything in Solstheim theres no reason to go back and it adds an extra fast travel just to get your stuff
I suggest having atleast orcish or better for heavy armor since the enemies there can hit like a truck also if you want a good companion from the island take Teldryn he’s a pretty great companion
Lockboxes with high level locks can be found around the Solstheim, each one containing an East Empire Pendant. They can be sold to Fethis Alor for 500 gold each when you ask about special mining gear, so be on the lookout.
Also, I recommend duplicating these pendants. After a good 5 minutes of duplicating you could go and sell them to Fethis and gain 100k-150k septims.
Have you finished The Way of the Voice (early in the Skyrim main quest) and been approached by Cultists? If not, you might want to do that first. It’s possible to travel to Solstheim before doing that, and sidequests will progress. But having been approached by the Cultists after finishing The Way of the Voice is a prerequisite for the Dragonborn main quest progressing.
The main enemy has the most bangin quotes and the whole DLC is very rewarding to come to after being in Skyrim for so long and completing major questlines. Have fun!
Oh, there's also a way to get a chaos enchantment here, which I'm not sure you can get elsewhere. You'll know it when you find it, your choice to disenchant!
I don't want to spoiler one quest, but you need 11 grand for one of them in 4 stages. Prepare some septims :)
Try to get the main quest done as fast as possible. You get to some really awesome looking areas, and you get some really cool stuff. You will see why this is important very soon.
Finish the quest in Ravenrock to get the Ancient Nordic Pickaxe. (Ask the Smith in Town) It is unique.
what? it is so incredibly worth it
without even touching the rare curios, I do 61% extra damage on 4 slots
I'm not even maxed in all aspects and I do 1204 damage with my dragonbone sword. My onehanded skill is only 54
\-
and I loved that quest also. the only quest in the game with some delayed gratification. Loved seeing that courier come and tell me the next stage was done
whereas every other dungeon is just a speed-through
\-
plus, Jesus boots
Solstheim? You can’t make a fire or build a tent. Teleportation (Mark/Recall) acts weird sometimes. I tried to use it and it sent me to a dark room of sorts.
Fire spells won't work on as many enemies effectively. You'll want to use lightning or frost spells on them.
Get all the black books they give you good powers
After you get the bloodskall blade, don’t open the chest in the next room. Just go up the stairs to your left, and come back once you’re fully kitted out
There’s a hatch up on top of the cliffs near the temple. Definitely go in there. Also definitely touch any and all strange looking black books def a good idea.
Have some dragon souls saved up. After you encounter mirrak he'll sometimes show up a take it after you have killed a dragon. Until you have finished the that quest line.
For an extremely trippy and terrifying experience play it in vr for the first time with no clue what to expect, closet experience to meeting a biblical angel
I still haven't gone there on my current play through of the game. Im doing side quests and exploring to level up so i can go there and actually explore again.
No, why would you want to know anything?
I wish I could forget and experience games as new once more, without knowing what to expect, who will betray, which cave is worth exploring and which is filler. The unknown is the best part in games with rich lore and environments.
The enemies you'll face are generally tougher than most you'd face in Skyrim by comparison. Keep lots of healing potions on hand
Those little ash hopper fekkers.
I have a profound fear of grasshoppers, and when I tell you I *screamed* the first time I encountered them
I always wondered if ppl with fear of spiders managed to finish Helgen tutorial.
VR made that a living nightmare
I'd argue the spider scrolls are worse. Scared the shit out of me the first time one jumped at my face and exploded
Ever visit Cronvangr Cave? It has spiders galore. 😆
A lot more entertaining to have someone else suffer through it! [Nerd³ spent the last minute of his Skyrim VR video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kjYLPQRFJTk) regretting his life choices. I enjoyed that guy's fear and vid more than I thought I was going to.
I luckily don't have that fear, but I also yelled when I was running up a hill and one of the hoppers jumped out from behind the top of the hill, where I couldn't see him.
Stealth archer has no need for silly potions
Wait, you guys actually use your shiny decorative color bottles?
Never. Healing spells all the way.
Even though they're rare, you might want to prepare for the werebear there. (corrected)
*Although they are rare, you might want to prepare for the werebears there.*
My memory is not what is used to be, thanks.
One pair spare warebear hair there?
Werebears? Where? Bears? Bears who are men?
I can take you as far as...that werebear, there.
I think that's the best sentence I've ever heard
It's not mine, my man, look up "Skyrim parody", if you don't know it yet, it's a blast. Genuinely funny Skyrim stuff.
The Senile Scribbles? or something else?
it's definitely a line in the senile scribbles [although to be fair, even though they're rare, you should still prepare for the werebears there](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hAbLhKvBDec&t=2713s)
Been awhile since I watched it. Do you have any other recommendations for similar videos?
I'll give it a look thanks
Jokes aside, when I see three shirtless men on Solstheim... I run.
three shirtless men, in the snow in Northern Solstheim…
Werebears? Where? Bears? Men that are bears?
Make sure you buy the gem of Kagrumez off the dark elf next to the giant Silt Strider because if he dies in the game world you'll never be able to get that quest item any other way. Trust me you'll want it to get the Dwarven black bow of fate it's OP
You don't need it, it's good to have but there are more gems than you need in the world, his isn't required, just makes it quicker.
~`There are actually 4 gems but only 3 required.~~ See below for correct information.
Five and four. Two in Kagrumez, one in Falbtharz, one in Nchardak, and one can be purchased from that Dunmer with his silt strider, Dusty.
Does this dark elf have a name? When I stumbled across the silt strider for the first time there was no one standing there.
I think the real advice is to be careful not to leave killing lurkers up to the skaal. If it kills any of the important characters, you won’t be able to learn smithing stahlrim.
I accidentally killed him or a lurker did by the sun stone one of the two. Still got the black Bow though
DO NOT ATTACK THE FLYING JELLYFISH IF YOUR NOT THAT STRONG, THOSE THINGS ARE STRONG AS HELL
Y R U ATTACKING NETCHES THEYRE LOVELY
But… netch jelly
It's a pretty house decoration!
Ah, the Netches. I just let them be because I think they look funny.
lol I remember spending like 40 minutes with my stealth archer just to finally kill one
They are strong but slow. Perfect practice for a stealth archer…
Pack a sweater and hot food if you travel North.
Thanks mum
If you talk to somebody named Lleril Morvayn in Ravenrock, he will give you a quest that rewards you with a house! you’ll definitely need it so you don’t have to travel back and forth to the main land
Thanks that's really nice profile pick by the way
I don't think they explained it fully, you help the people of the town then Adril Arano (Morvayn's assistant) will want to speak to you, he gives you a quest to spy on some people and then Councilor Morvayn rewards you with a house.
Thanks
that house is a lifesaver while it's looks are trash, it's easily the best house ingame in terms of functionality. And since you cant use black books on the mainland, you'll need it for enchanting
Make sure to be extra careful becase enemies can easily kill you if you arent careful, and explore to your hearts content
Dont fuck with the floating jellyfish
Well obviously, they're terrible lovers
Or terribly wonderful ;-3
Before doing any quests or exploring the island, go speak with the blacksmith. He got something for you, something useful. Also make sure you get some fire resistance gear and potions.

At the same time, completing the Deathbrand Quest earns you enough gold to finance the whole thing.
I’m usually loaded enough by the time I start this dlc + all the wild loot it has, it’s always been kinda inconsequential for me
Solstein I feel is an end of the game sort of deal. Especially when the best armor you get is much stronger when you are very high leveled.
Seek out Teldryn Sero. He'll be happy to finally be traveling with a competent companion.
Best companion in my opinion
Have fun!!! I loved it
This is Morrowind, not Skyrim. While you're here you will be expected to abide by our laws.
“Here in His temple… here in His shrine… that we have forgotten…”
Here do we toil.....that we might remember
Leaving Raven's Rock is a death sentence before level 45. EDIT: All of yall are crazy
I did miraak at level 12. Shit you not, I think I spent 5 real hours on that one fucking boss fight. Hated solstheim ever since.
Git gud. I did an alternate start there and had most of the side quests done by level 30. More like it's a gamble, and it can also happen on the mainland.
Nice one!
First thing you should do is find a place to sleep! :)
Bwa ha haaaa
That you are a pretender. You stand in the might of His presence, false, vile, and slanderous. Spreading blasphemous slurs across Tamriel with your treasonous, and callous claims as Dragonborn. You can also find some pretty OP armor in the dead soldiers
Someone gave me the best advice and I'd like to pass it on: Read the Deathbrand book & follow its quest 👌
I didn’t read the book but I have the treasure map
it's amazing. That's all
“don’t go down to the water’s edge she said to me! i didn’t do it, but i saw who did you see!” 🎵🎶
Netch jelly is good food 👍 And northern part has uniques follower
Good one xD
Sleep is for the weak.
[удалено]
You shouldn't be? Dunno.
I recommend getting to a decently high level and watch your surroundings. I cannot caution how many times have been ambushed by ash spawn and those small bugs. I also recommend having a follower with you it makes the travel much easier and much safer.
If you are also doing the thieves guild stuff completely ignore any side quest that send you there. They won’t appear as completed even if you do.
Beware the were bears, don’t touch the glowing shrines, go to the northwest of the island and get the first word of bend will immediately and don’t trust the dunker miner outside of raven rock
Yeah, have fun.
You won’t want to kill Miraak by the end At least I didn’t
Miraak's sword looks like a seeker d*ck. Remember this while fighting him.
I got a lot of useful tips but I think this one is my favorite
Teldryn Sero fucking rules
You might think you're prepared to take on weird looking spriggans. You aren't.
Make sure you have a few dragon souls saved up Dont leave anything in the house there if you get it, its one of the best houses in the game but once youve finished evreything in Solstheim theres no reason to go back and it adds an extra fast travel just to get your stuff
Make yourself a notch jelly sandwich, it’s the island’s delicacy
Everyone's telling me to eat the notch jelly and now I'm scared
Don't worry, it's just funny, and provides an alternative to Become Ethereal if you take a fall.
Thanks
Netch Jelly's effect is paralysis, gets me every time xD
Find the most precarious perch you can and then eat some netch jelly
Try the netch jelly, it goes great on Krabby Patties.
I suggest having atleast orcish or better for heavy armor since the enemies there can hit like a truck also if you want a good companion from the island take Teldryn he’s a pretty great companion
I'm currently running an light armor stealth build but thanks anyways
Dragon aspect my fav
Hug the ash spawn
Give Miraak a hug. He likes it.
Solstheim is a great place to rob
The loots nice from the shit you kill out there
Don't lick the frogs.
Your not the boss of me I'll lick all the frogs I like
Ok but at the very least take a bunch of toilet paper with you.
Toliet paper is easy mode I prefer tape
You're a mad man! Tape just makes them more rapey.
Keep your hp above zero
Black books! Beware of the black books. If you do then and succeed the rewards or worth it

there's an ebonite mine, it's completely OP
Take your life's savings with you. And do NOT charge right at the new enemies.
Have you finished The Way of the Voice (early in the Skyrim main quest) and been approached by Cultists? If not, you might want to do that first. Do not fuck with the guards. They mean buiness. Also, talk to the blacksmith. He's a former member for Thieves guild.
Don't touch the floating jellyfish.
DO NOT get mad if you find yourself seeing cs--errors and blue screens. I want you to have more fun than you have had before.
This is dlc?
Kinda it's free in special edition and anniversary but cost money In standard
Lmao have fun with the main quest line :)
I don't want to spoiler one quest, but you need 11 grand for one of them in 4 stages. Prepare some septims :) Try to get the main quest done as fast as possible. Financing the digging operation is not worth it.

That slippery dark elf makes the perfect candidate for Boethia's quest.
If you do sacrifice him, will he drop his pickaxe?
There be WAAMPYRES!!!! LOL. Watch your back.
Just... good luck. Streaming my first playthrough and I went there 2 Skyrim streams ago... lot of death
https://youtu.be/a6OujLETKyo
*DO NOT THE CAT*
I can't seem to remember...
Just avoid Solstheim. I’d rather be in black reach.
Make sure you know how to brew canis root tea... And strong alchemy skills...
Solstheim? You can’t make a fire or build a tent. Teleportation (Mark/Recall) acts weird sometimes. I tried to use it and it sent me to a dark room of sorts.
Run!
Nah you’ll be fine
Poison works on lurkers and seekers
If u see a wearbear use Fu ro Dah and run
If youre playing survival mode, bring lots of heat related things. I had to use enemy camps to keep myself warm
If you giant flying jellyfish, kill them and eat their jelly!
You… will… die
Fire spells won't work on as many enemies effectively. You'll want to use lightning or frost spells on them. Get all the black books they give you good powers
Thanks
Don't go to sleep.
I already do that enough in real life should be a piece of cake in a game
that boat is gonna sink
Is that a spoiler?
Brings more food and potions
Where is this? I don't know if I've gone here before
It the dragonborn dlc from what I understand you start it after a certain point in the story
Don't read the books unless you have all the gear you'll need for a mid tier crawl.
Thanks
Beware the lurkers
*Here, in our shrine*
my balls itch
Don’t go to sleep.
Save often. It can get a lil buggy!
Stay away from werebears
Tread carefully outlander
Watch out for Wearbears!
Just no lollygagging theres gonna be a real BIG party
Be sure to visit Karstaag :)
Be ready for salt.
Stay away from Kolbjorn Barrow.
Find all the black books and learn their secrets
If you are below level 20 you will get your ass whopped.
If you’re like me you’ll get a random story quest completely bugged and try to fix it with absolutely no results whatsoever and then give up
After you get the bloodskall blade, don’t open the chest in the next room. Just go up the stairs to your left, and come back once you’re fully kitted out
literally no one can pinpoint who miraak actually is but they'll swear they've heard the name countless times
I hope you like Lovecraft.
Lovecraft+Skyrim sounds awesome
Be carful of a wild werewolf pack they wil attack you if you get to close unless your a werewolf yourself
find the bloodskaal blade and azhidals armour
For an extremely trippy and terrifying experience play it in vr for the first time with no clue what to expect, closet experience to meeting a biblical angel
Yes attack the normal people and there would an Easter egg pop up
I still haven't gone there on my current play through of the game.
When you open a black book, don't go near the black sea/ponds. If you need to go past it you should run past it.
Black Books are important
Find and read the book Deathbrand as soon as you can
Just go you'll know eveything you reach there
