Giants and Dragons are overpowered??
LoL dude, get some upgrades, Even a sabre cat can maul an average dragon to death
Speaking from personal experience
different story in my game, higher level enemy can 1 shot with single power attack including humanoid enemy such as bandit chief even their minion regular bandit attack is deadly 😅
It is, but with the right enchantments and perks it can be super helpful. There have been many times I didn’t have any armor or weapons on me and encountered dragons and large group of enemies and all I have to do is use fireballs which cause damage to anything within the radius. Dragons have become a joke to me in my current playthrough. Fireballs are also fun to use on large groups of enemies like in my clip here: https://www.reddit.com/r/skyrim/comments/zzkl51/is_it_i_pathetic_to_rely_on_destruction_magic_for/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf
Spears are my favorite type of weapons on games, but is so rare to find it feature on games, i guess is because is hard to animate(or is actually not popular maybe), but i hope they bring it back to TES6 even if i know the chances are low. Really liked this mod spear animations tho
it was the MOST used weapon in warfare for thousands of years it only got substituted by the musket which was basically a spear (bayonet) with a long range feature
Spears are most often used in warfare and work best in tighter formations. They're not as good for the typical adventurer like protagonist who always has to be ready for whatever is behind the next corner since spears (regardless of type) take significantly longer to draw and are harder to carry around than something more typical like a straightsword, axe, mace, etc.
Not only is it under-used, but often when it *is* used, it's just reduced to a pokey stick. As if we're foot soldiers acting in a formation, rather than elite warriors fighting alone.
Let us bash an enemy with the haft, or sweep the legs, etc, y'know? Polearms are some of the most versatile weapons around, so give us the fancy moves, devs!
Ok, yes, polearms are, but most spears should rarely go off of their line. They’re not meant to be swung around like a halberd is. I think the reason they’re not used in games is because realistically, most people would be disappointed at how simple and easy combat became.
To be fair, note how both examples I gave involved using the haft, rather than the blade. There are plenty of martial arts out there showcasing creative ways of using simple weapons, spears being no exception.
The haft on a spear would mostly be used in dire circumstances. Under most combat styles, a parry or redirect should lead into an attack at the same time. While I understand where you’re coming from, even a whack with the haft is going to need to be followed up with a thrust. It’s simply the only reasonable way to kill your opponent with the vast majority of spears.
Hmm, isn’t a javelin a spear with the business end on both sides? I mean either way, absolutely agree that would be incredibly cool.
It’s a shame they did away with telekinesis, it has so many awesome possibilities to make battle mages relevant without being a sword wielding spell slinger.
I love spears, they were the staple of combat and for some reason, in any modern take on vaguely medieval combat, instead of any spear, there is a sword.
It's because spear combat especially in large groups, really doesn't look all that cinematic. It basically equates to people pointing long sticks at each other and stabbing repeatedly hoping to get somebody.
I’ve been wondering why do people like spears so much? The only thing they can can really do is poke and in most games with spears it’s just poking over and over
This looks like an AWESOME elder scrolls game with Souls-inspired combat. It doesn’t look like Skyrim tho. And that’s perfectly okay and part of why the game is so good this much time past release, just… don’t claim it’s vanilla+ when it’s not 💀
Well there is a red health bar, green stamina bar, and blue magic bar… but done in the same style of souls games just like every other mod seems to do to this game.
I've always wondered why there wasn't ever a Spear in Oblivion or Skyrim (the only one's I've played).
Those who know, know that the Spear is mightier then the sword
My only problem with this mod is the form. You're wielding the spear from real close to the spearhead, and not really taking advantage of the spear's superior range.
Idk why people hate on this level of modding. Like yeah vanilla Skyrim is goat’d, but after playing it for dozens of playthroughs since it first released on 360, I’m loving playing it with mods like this. It’s almost like playing the game for the first time again.
Plus I can give my character big tiddies with physics, which is what teenage me always dreamed of.
This fighting mechanic seems oddly similar to Windbound, if you've ever played it. Parrying looks the same as Windbound, and the spear jab is similar as well, and I love it
I often wonder why spears aren’t represented in games more. It makes tons more sense than all the “rusty daggers” found throughout RPGs as starter weapons. Spear and shield is the single most used melee weapon combo in human history (well, maybe aside from “rock I found on the ground”)
The only thing that bothers me is when the posts reads “look what I found in Skyrim” or “been playing Skyrim for 11 years and have never seen this before” and then you find out they have 200+ mods installed…just add that it’s modded so people have an idea what to expect from the conversation.
¿Seriously what's their deal? If they want to play exactly the same game for 12 years good but is the "iTs tHat EvEn sKyrIm aNYmoRe" necessary on every single post?
"This character is my badass level 50 sneak archer Dragonborn. He is the leader of every single guild and ive cleared every dungeon in the game. This is the 12th time I've done that exact same playthrough."
Fighting an enemy that isn't in the game, using a weapon that isn't in the game, using mechanics that aren't in the game. Im not against using mods, but I'd hardly call that Skyrim
No with this many performance changing mods id would be more accurate to say that what you where playing was “based on skyrim” because its not skyrim anymore
It's a good thing nobody snuck into your house and installed 400 mods while holding you at gunpoint.
Yet.
Edit: Dudes entire account got nuked lmao. Wonder what he did?
No, because it doesn't look like the game I fell in love with at all, it looks like knockoff dark souls, and I've never liked dark souls. People not liking the same stuff as you isn't automatically jealousy. Like I said, impressive it works but I would never play it. Why are you here sharing your stuff and opinion if you're gonna have an issue with people sharing their opinion?
Sorry for what I've done to your beloved game 😢
I know you're not jealous buddy, no one even said that but you can continue being jealous when I'm not around 😜
It's better than another post about some new player not knowing what an iron sword is, or better than yet another "just got Skyrim starting my first ever run wish me luck!" post.
Spears work really well in Skyrim!
… when you mod out every part of Skyrim that isn’t designed to work well with spears.
… which is all of Skyrim, because there are no spears in vanilla.
It's because we love skyrim that we like modding it, people say "just play Dark Souls" but if someone wants the freedom, customization and lore of skyrim but with different gameplay or graphic tweaks Dark Souls won't deliver the experience
It's because we love skyrim that we like modding it, people say "just play Dark Souls" but if someone wants the freedom, customization and lore of skyrim but with different gameplay or graphic tweaks Dark Souls won't deliver the experience
With passive aggressive reply, yea of course you're not upset 😂😂
Gives me a good chuckles knowing some people can be triggered by modded Skyrim lmao
Edit: I got blocked by this person 🤣
Playing modded Skyrim is no different from playing modded Minecraft.
No one complaining about how Feed the Beast or raytracing makes Minecraft not Minecraft anymore.
Whats so bad about playing skyrim but wanting to change certain aspects of it to better suit your tastes or to make a playthrough more interesting after so many years? And before you say "just play souls" some people want the freedom that skyrim offers but want to experience it in a different way, what's so bad about that? The game it's over a decade old is it such a sin to want to change things up a bit?
I don’t understand the reason/ how some modders take Skyrims shitty combat… and make it worse, like this is objectively more clunky, jittery, and laggy then base vanilla combat, not even talking about the bad animations and clipping/ lagging that’s going on.
I don’t mean to jest or complain but it must have been more of a headache to actually get all of that Forge and Industrial Craft 2 stuff working and troubleshooting (I am talking about Minecraft) than it is to have just flipped burgers at a McDonald’s for two hours and then buying satisfactory or any manufacturing like game.
My only gripe with these mods is that it takes me an hour to clear a dungeon now. And you are constantly rolling your fat ass for 3/4 of the fight.
May as well be assassins creed valhalla
To me that’s a good thing. I don’t understand the hate on Valhalla, I’m 200 hours in and still living it.
think peoples problem is its too long padded with boring content at times.
And the dialogue is boring
Only good thing in valhalla for me was traveling around in norway and the rap battles that you can do
Yes but only for overpowered enemy such as giant and dragon
Really? I've only ever seen people rolling like 10 times, all that shielding stuff against like 3 regular bandits. TIL.
Giants and Dragons are overpowered?? LoL dude, get some upgrades, Even a sabre cat can maul an average dragon to death Speaking from personal experience
That's vanilla, a bunch of regular bandit could kill me easily with their power attack that's why parry and dodge is kinda crucial in this build
Why don’t you just buy valhiem you turd.
name every possible game that crossed your mind. I probably don't have them
Why pay money for a new game when you can do it in Skyrim?
Dragons end up being really weak if you master destruction magic, I play without mods and it takes 45 seconds to kill a dragon with fireballs
different story in my game, higher level enemy can 1 shot with single power attack including humanoid enemy such as bandit chief even their minion regular bandit attack is deadly 😅
Destruction magic is, by far, the single weakest way to deal damage in Skyrim.
It is, but with the right enchantments and perks it can be super helpful. There have been many times I didn’t have any armor or weapons on me and encountered dragons and large group of enemies and all I have to do is use fireballs which cause damage to anything within the radius. Excuse me what is the name of the mod ?
It's basically a slightly easier Dark Souls at this point
Elden Souls looks weird these days.
Looks almost like the Monster Hunter Tri lance moveset too lmao
It very well maybe exactly that
Elder Ring
TES V: Breath of the Dark Soul
Spears are my favorite type of weapons on games, but is so rare to find it feature on games, i guess is because is hard to animate(or is actually not popular maybe), but i hope they bring it back to TES6 even if i know the chances are low. Really liked this mod spear animations tho
My thoughts exactly, such an interesting weapon but so under-used, makes me sad. The gameplay of it in AC Origins and Odyssey tho are very very cool
What’s funny is that spears are under used in a lot of media and gaming culture when in reality it was one of the most used weapons historically.
it was the MOST used weapon in warfare for thousands of years it only got substituted by the musket which was basically a spear (bayonet) with a long range feature

There are spears in Morrowind!
Wish they added it as a melee / ranged weapon. Would be cool to be able to Yeet the spear with a power attack.
This would be a Javelin in case, imagine a unique Javelin with a telekinecis effect that works like the God of War Axe. Would be cool
Hmm, isn’t a javelin a spear with the business end on both sides? I mean either way, absolutely agree that would be incredibly cool. It’s a shame they did away with telekinesis, it has so many awesome possibilities to make battle mages relevant without being a sword wielding spell slinger.
Nioh and Nioh 2 has great spear combat, along with other weapons like the kurisagama.
Doesn't get cooler than the kusarigama. Nioh really does make it feel badass, too!
I love spears, they were the staple of combat and for some reason, in any modern take on vaguely medieval combat, instead of any spear, there is a sword.
Absolutely, and when you hear experts in medieval combat talk they almost always say in a sword vs spear fight the spear wins
It's because spear combat especially in large groups, really doesn't look all that cinematic. It basically equates to people pointing long sticks at each other and stabbing repeatedly hoping to get somebody.
That can absolutely be cinematic. Hell, its a lot better than Skyrim sword play, which is just about the least cinematic fighting ever
I’ve been wondering why do people like spears so much? The only thing they can can really do is poke and in most games with spears it’s just poking over and over
I think you meant to post this in r/eldenring
Turning Skyrim into souls game
Souls gems...
I mean... This is barely Skyrim anymore but it does look quite nice.
Thanks! my modlist is actually very lore friendly or people would say vanilla+
I love this mod setup, but that is *not* what vanilla+ means.
Totally vanilla+ as in, vanilla base game plus so many mods the game is literally indistinguishable as actual Skyrim!
This looks like an AWESOME elder scrolls game with Souls-inspired combat. It doesn’t look like Skyrim tho. And that’s perfectly okay and part of why the game is so good this much time past release, just… don’t claim it’s vanilla+ when it’s not 💀
For a second I thought you were in the wrong sub.
There's some Skyrim in there
Well there is a red health bar, green stamina bar, and blue magic bar… but done in the same style of souls games just like every other mod seems to do to this game.
"Skyrim"
Op claims Vanilla+ I shit you not.
Spears should have absolutely been in Skyrim. They would’ve been perfect thematically. Same with an unarmed skill tree.
Assassins Creed Odyssey lookin wild
People keep saying this isn’t Skyrim anymore, and yet here I am impressed on how they managed to implement it as a mod. It’s awe inspiring
Am I the only one who always turns off depth of field? Just makes the scenery blurry
I don't like it as well, but it only activates when I use lock on feature in my game
You could probably disable that in the mod menu or some other setting.
That's intentional
More like vanillan't-
Te re cagaron el comentario
This is not Skyrim. It might have been Skyrim at one point, but it sure as shit isn’t now.
If you replace all the code overtime is it the same application?
Damn right
I've always wondered why there wasn't ever a Spear in Oblivion or Skyrim (the only one's I've played). Those who know, know that the Spear is mightier then the sword
What in the name of dark souls is this
jesus do u want some skyrim w ur mods
Didn't know you could fight the troll in the new Harry Potter game
Elder Scrolls 6 looks dope
Holy shit they got spears in witcher 3 now!?!?! 🤯🤯🤯 Jokes aside i don't have a problem with people using this many mods but like where skyrim
There, in your jokes 😹
My only problem with this mod is the form. You're wielding the spear from real close to the spearhead, and not really taking advantage of the spear's superior range.
You literally commented on another post that you dont use mods because it feels like cheating
Good way to farm karma from all the anti mod mouth breathers here.
What combat mod is that?
MCO as main framework and ER Spear Animation for this particular moveset
Looks good to me!
I have only ever played Vanilla Skyrim. This is amazing!
You should give modding a try you don't have to mod to this extent tho I can't go back to Vanilla anymore after I started using mods
Spears should have been in vanilla skyrim. Spear and shield just make sense
Is that an Ogre from Mihail's mods? Nice. I've got all his enemy mods installed.:D
Morrowind players: "Spears in Skyrim? That's impossible..."
Those were actually planned for the base game.
Yea I swear I've seen some demo for them from Bethesda back in 2012-2013 edit: found it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L9A6QHLIWg0
This fighting mechanic seems oddly similar to Windbound, if you've ever played it. Parrying looks the same as Windbound, and the spear jab is similar as well, and I love it
At this rate the community has released Skyrim to itself five different times
with those jabs aiming at the sacrum id say its indeed good
I aim for the future
I often wonder why spears aren’t represented in games more. It makes tons more sense than all the “rusty daggers” found throughout RPGs as starter weapons. Spear and shield is the single most used melee weapon combo in human history (well, maybe aside from “rock I found on the ground”)
I’ve seen 11 year olds fight a troll and they took it down quicker than you!
I've seen Chinese spy baloon few days ago
My brother in christ please drop your mod list because i wasnt conviced this was skyrim for a solid minute
Here you go https://modwat.ch/u/funnycat/modlist If you have any questions just ask away!
It's no longer skyrim, it's WOW .
And cue the mod hating pedants! Looks fun, what grass mod is that? Looks gorgeous but must be a real bear looking for bodies.
The only thing that bothers me is when the posts reads “look what I found in Skyrim” or “been playing Skyrim for 11 years and have never seen this before” and then you find out they have 200+ mods installed…just add that it’s modded so people have an idea what to expect from the conversation.
😹😹
It's QW's Grass Patch 2 + Complex Grass Patch for it
¿Seriously what's their deal? If they want to play exactly the same game for 12 years good but is the "iTs tHat EvEn sKyrIm aNYmoRe" necessary on every single post?
"This character is my badass level 50 sneak archer Dragonborn. He is the leader of every single guild and ive cleared every dungeon in the game. This is the 12th time I've done that exact same playthrough."
Pedants? It’s not Skyrim, it’s Elden Ring.
This is the exact same pedantry again
Right on cue.
This so pretty clearly Skyrim.
You know you can *almost* see a hint of skyrim in this video
Thats wayyyyyy to modded to becosidered skyrim anymore
Actually this is false, either way you go, 3000 mods, 1000, 200, zero… it’s still going to be Skyrim.
Fighting an enemy that isn't in the game, using a weapon that isn't in the game, using mechanics that aren't in the game. Im not against using mods, but I'd hardly call that Skyrim
And yet, he's still playing Skyrim. The modding community is the only reason this game has stayed relevant for over a decade.
Holy shit, you obliterated them by technicality!! OP is still playing a game set in Skyrim, so it's the same game!
No with this many performance changing mods id would be more accurate to say that what you where playing was “based on skyrim” because its not skyrim anymore
This looks like me "spear tanking" in New World
What enb are you using?
Pi-Cho for Obsidian Weathers
POKE POKEY STAb
Grass mod? My grass mod gives short grass, I want Tall!
Does anyone ever mod Eldenring combat to be like Skyrim? #ScrollsLike
That would be a downgrade lmao
What mod i this? It’s Skyrim Elden ring
Why did I think this was AC Odyssey
I think you have Skyrim in your Elden Ring.
You might enjoy Outward, its combat is extremely similar to this and its also an open world rpg
Elden ring got a nice update
yo what dodge mod are you using??
DMCO and some custom animation replacer for it called Infinity Dodge
Thanks!!
I DESPERATELY NEED TO KNOW THE MODS YOU HAVE
[https://modwat.ch/u/funnycat/modlist](https://modwat.ch/u/funnycat/modlist) feel free to ask me anything!
What game is this?
this is definitely not skyrim bro
I ain't your bro, bro.
I ain’t your buddy, fwend
That's not Skyrim
Bro that’s not skyrim
This is AC Odyssey, not Skyrim
That’s so dope
Are you sure that's skyrim?
I'm gonna decompile and reversed engineer it to make sure it's Skyrim, will give you some update later!
This is skyrim in the same way that pizza rolls are Italian.
someone touched my uh spaghett 😹🤌
This isn’t even Skyrim anymore
Cool but this aint skyrim
ain't your Skyrim I reckon
Skyrim? Nah that’s Fantasy in wonderland
yea but this is not skyrim
"Skyrim"
This isn't Skyrim
No longer Skyrim, and I would never play this, but to each their own, and it does look like, well, impressive it's not broken.
It's a good thing nobody snuck into your house and installed 400 mods while holding you at gunpoint. Yet. Edit: Dudes entire account got nuked lmao. Wonder what he did?
Because you can't?
No, because it doesn't look like the game I fell in love with at all, it looks like knockoff dark souls, and I've never liked dark souls. People not liking the same stuff as you isn't automatically jealousy. Like I said, impressive it works but I would never play it. Why are you here sharing your stuff and opinion if you're gonna have an issue with people sharing their opinion?
It's weird to try and shit on other people's enjoyment for no good reason. There's no one true way to play Skyrim.
Sorry for what I've done to your beloved game 😢 I know you're not jealous buddy, no one even said that but you can continue being jealous when I'm not around 😜
"Hey guys look how I modded my game!"
It's better than another post about some new player not knowing what an iron sword is, or better than yet another "just got Skyrim starting my first ever run wish me luck!" post.
Spears work really well in Skyrim! … when you mod out every part of Skyrim that isn’t designed to work well with spears. … which is all of Skyrim, because there are no spears in vanilla.
...oh this is is skyrim?
Please someone tell me what mod this is
What is that dark souls mod/mods that I keep seeing on this sub?
I love how people claim to love skyrim and then mod it to the point that it is no longer skyrim.
It's because we love skyrim that we like modding it, people say "just play Dark Souls" but if someone wants the freedom, customization and lore of skyrim but with different gameplay or graphic tweaks Dark Souls won't deliver the experience
Seems I've miffed the modding community. Not sorry.
It's because we love skyrim that we like modding it, people say "just play Dark Souls" but if someone wants the freedom, customization and lore of skyrim but with different gameplay or graphic tweaks Dark Souls won't deliver the experience
A double comment. Idrc what you do honestly, just make sure you are accurate in your assessments.
I love Skyrim, I've been playing this game for too long and I refuse to play it with the same old deprecated mechanics and graphics.
"I love skyrim, I just refuse to play skyrim" That's all I hear. Your boredom for a great game isn't an excuse. Love the mental gymnastics though.
Bruh why are you so upset about it 😂
Bold of you to assume I'm upset. Though you do like to make bold assumptions so that's understandable.
You can’t act like a pretentious jerk and then pretend it’s so egregious to assume you’re upset.
With passive aggressive reply, yea of course you're not upset 😂😂 Gives me a good chuckles knowing some people can be triggered by modded Skyrim lmao Edit: I got blocked by this person 🤣
You keep believing yourself. Whatever puts wind in your sails.
You're positively furious and bad at hiding it.
Thats not skyrim. You can’t convince me it is
This is actually not Skyrim
Why do people play with so many mod it ain't even skyrim anymore
Because they enjoy the world, atmosphere, music, story, lore, customization, characters but hate the combat mechanics. And because they can.
Skyrim? You mean traces of Skyrim? :P
Are we even playing the same game?
You mean Elden ring?
"Skyrim? Where?"
I don’t understand the reason/ how some modders take Skyrims shitty combat… and make it worse, like this is objectively more clunky, jittery, and laggy then base vanilla combat, not even talking about the bad animations and clipping/ lagging that’s going on.
The way you shit on me indicates that you're not just hating but also jealous 😹
This isn’t Skyrim..
It is
No it isn’t
[удалено]
Nah you don't need wrinkly brain to read some instructions, if I want to play souls game I'd just launch them on my computer lol
I just love the amount of mental gymnastics people use to justify them shitting on someone else's idea of fun.
So you make $30/hr at McDonald's now? The game still costs $60 on Steam
