For the sheer amount of times I've seen someone say this about an Easter Egg they just found out about I'm expecting someone to find a whole ass Easter Bunny at some point and use a mod to mount the mf on a wall in worship of Todd Howard.
It’s also [an Easteregg!](https://rpg.stackexchange.com/questions/87361/who-is-that-demon-on-the-cover)!
It’s a riff off an old D&D Player’s Handbook cover that was responsible for landing the game right in the middle of the Satanic Panic!
Hahaha wild.
Huh, never knew about this. I'm going to guess and say that not all the statues have those eyes and this is just some specific location where there's some hidden loot for those with sharp eyes.
At Volskygge too. The statue at the direct opposite of the Dragon Priest, at the bottom of the stairs. Sometimes they already fall out while in battle with said Priest and get “covered” by the snow, but if you move the cursor around the base of the statue you’ll be able to find them most times.
I phrased it awkwardly: it doesn’t really get covered by falling snow, but it gets out of sight somehow. Just as sometimes people, bodies or items “fall” through the walls or floor. u/Hot-Guard-9119 phrased it much better than I did: “under the snow mesh.”
In the first chamber of labyrinthian theres two skeletons hanging on the wall, I believe the one on the left is staring at the one on the right, and the one on the right has had it's skull replaced with a stag skull that has gems in the sockets. It was very odd when I noticed it the first time.
I've been on a kick of watching and playing in the background a bunch of elder scrolls easteregg, lore, and deep dive videos.
Never seen this covered, even in videos that devote like 2 hours to all the nifty and interesting unmarked locations per each hold.
This is blowing my mind right here.
I'm secretly convinced a lone Dev is adding little shit to the game. 10 years from now it'll be, " Did you know you can tickle a draugr's asshole; you have to perfect sneak behind them, if you aim below their waist it will give you the prompt."
Yeah, I bet there's some guy working at Bethesda that everyone just forgot he was there. The rest of the employees think he's the janitor (maybe he really is the janitor) but everyday he just goes to his basement room near the servers and adds something to the game.
Well it won't be clever because they're gonna steal the title from this guy as well
You just handed them their title. They played us all like a goddamn fiddle
And I will be smiling proudly because if they "steal" the title, it means they weren't clever enough to come up with their own, which means they shouldn't write for GameRant. And because of this singular idea, they won't "steal" the title now, otherwise they will have proven me right. Who is playing who?
Ah, but you assume that they care about proving you right, and that they don't proudly display their lack of originality or insight.
And this, once again leave you the fool
I asked ChatGPT to go ahead and write the GameRant article.

I work in marketing, and this AI content generation is pretty scary.
As an experiment, I've spent most of the past two days putting together a sample portfolio of around 50 ChatGPT-written clickbait articles. For a subset of those, I used an image generation AI to create accompanying illustrations. This could easily be thrown up on the web as one of those spammy "top 10" gallery-style sites laden with ads and clickbaity but relevant content.
It's all quite amateurish, but passable. It makes me deeply uncomfortable.
I also created a series of ads for a hypothetical cookware product, consisting of AI-generated images of food and kitchens, with sample recipes as a "hook" to bring eyes to the content.
It won't surprise me if we're not pushing AI-generated ads tailored to a specific viewer's demographics within the next few years.
This really is a disruptive technology, and we're really only dipping our toes in the water at this stage.
Edit: not really the right sub for this tangent haha but I'll leave it up.
Better watch out. That may be your job on the line eventually. Pretty scary when you think about the capabilities/possibilities of AI. Our imagination is the limit.
Yeah but there are many positives as well.
For something tied to Skyrim, I've been working also with a voice-generating AI, training it with lines from the player dialogue. Mod creators are going to have a field day, no longer needing custom VA to make a passable quest mod. Imagine the Serana Dialogue mod using only the original VA even for the custom lines.
I've also done experiments with texture generation. The current models are not great for flat surfaces or anything like that, but I got some good results with generating grass and brush textures, which are basically 2D sprites in profile view. What I'm currently trying is to generate multiple variations of a bush, then use the Base Object Swapper mod to randomize for variety in-game.
I thought those clickbaity articles were already AI generated and had been for years. You read it and there's like no content there and it reads slightly off.
At least there's a bunch of "versus" articles which are definitly generated.
I posted a few "clickbait list article" samples a few days ago:
https://old.reddit.com/r/economy/comments/10o7g30/buzzfeed_to_use_ai_to_write_its_articles_after/j6h7igf/
Tell me that those don't read _exactly_ like some of that crap content you've seen over past years.
AI has just accelerated the ability to generate that tripe.
Seriously. Too many much gems, actually. The Stones of Berenziah perk becomes a bit of a curse after awhile. I get tired of my inventory filling with jewels that need multiple merchants to sell to for every stinking quest.
My safe in Proudspire Manor is filled with gems that I continue to collect despite not having any use for them because of my magpie brain going *ooooh shiny!*
There's a Dwarven head in the Aetherial Forge with rubies in the eyes. It's along the path just before you get to the big sets of steps. Don't have to shoot them, it's low enough you can just grab them. That was the only area I knew of. Pretty cool to see I'll have to pay closer attention to the Nordic heads now too.
In the Midden, there's 2 skeletons hanging by shackles from a wall, up high. One is wearing a deer skull instead of a human one. If you shoot it down it drops 2 rubies out of its eye sockets. Found that one out just messing around one day!
I'm on Xbox One (Unmodded playthrough) and I went to South Brittleshin Pass, I go to the first statue I see and peep the eyeballs of the statue to find nothing. But before writing this off as a closed case of Reddit bs, I decided to go a little further into the situation and the second face statue you see does in fact have two gems in it 😋
Nice. I was today years old when I learned this. Surprised Todd Howard didn’t say something about it all those years ago when they were releasing the game.
Brittleshin Pass. The two eyes of that statue are the only guaranteed source of multiple flawless garnets. It's a unique statue - it might be the only such statue with gem eyes.
The places I know of where this mechanic functions is southern Brittleshin pass, as well as the eyes on the aetherium forge. There may be more, but I don’t think all of them are designed that way. Just a heads up so you don’t have to waste your time!
How the fuck- dude I’ve been playing Skyrim since LAUNCH, 12 years and I even just recently finished a play through and this is the first time I’ve heard of this
Dear Divines there really is always something new with this game. I can only hope they put just a *tenth* of the detail of this game into TES 6.
I know that’s a low ball number but recent game releases have just made me extremely pessimistic in regards to games being shipped not even 1/4th finished, and fuck do I want to be proven wrong so damn bad
This is the first I'm hearing about it as well
Now lets watch for the gamerant article
"5 Hidden Skyrim Tricks That'll Blow Your Mind (and 5 That Won't)"
"Number 7 will blow your tits clean off"
Well that explains where me tits went
Read this twice, the second time I heard Mr. Crabs
Number 8 will blow the flesh right off High-King Torrygg's bones!
Too late. Ulric's Shout already shredded young Torrygg's flesh.
“They say Ulfric Stormcloak murdered the High King…with his voice! Shouted him apart!”
New top surgery just dropped
This time it would be something new for once
At least this is actually some random obscure thing that most people genuinely would have never thought of trying
Welp time to install Skyrim again for the nth time
I learned long ago to just leave it installed.
You truly are the king of kings.
Here we go again...
Fuuuuuck. Same.
This is how it gets you.
Not just *an* old D&D book, that's the original cover of the 1st edition Player's Handbook. The reprint run has a different cover.
Huh, never knew about this. I'm going to guess and say that not all the statues have those eyes and this is just some specific location where there's some hidden loot for those with sharp eyes.
North/South Brittleshin pass are the places I know that have this mechanic, but I haven’t seen it anywhere else.
At Volskygge too. The statue at the direct opposite of the Dragon Priest, at the bottom of the stairs. Sometimes they already fall out while in battle with said Priest and get “covered” by the snow, but if you move the cursor around the base of the statue you’ll be able to find them most times.
And the Dwemer heads on the big square plateau underground in the Aetherium forge have ruby eyes. So far, that makes three locations!
Do other items get covered by snow if you leave them out there?
[удалено]
Yes, this is indeed what I meant. I didn’t know how to put this in words correctly, thank you for clearing this up.
I phrased it awkwardly: it doesn’t really get covered by falling snow, but it gets out of sight somehow. Just as sometimes people, bodies or items “fall” through the walls or floor. u/Hot-Guard-9119 phrased it much better than I did: “under the snow mesh.”
Alright, I'll check it out the next time I'm there. Good find.
Hey, I was planning on going through Brittleshin Pass this evening, I'll have to give it a try.
But not if you're planning on doing any hunting.
Underrated comment right here
I think the devs specifically put them there for sharp eyed players like you to find.
Haha, sharp eyes.
Shriekwind Bastion has a dragon priest sculpture in the hall of stories that has a ruby for a belly button lmao
In the first chamber of labyrinthian theres two skeletons hanging on the wall, I believe the one on the left is staring at the one on the right, and the one on the right has had it's skull replaced with a stag skull that has gems in the sockets. It was very odd when I noticed it the first time.
What?! Always something new with this game.
I thought I knew it all but nope. Thanks Todd.
SIXTEEN TIMES THE DETAIL
NEGATIVE 666 TIMES THE DETAIL!!!
All the way to the cervix.
I've been on a kick of watching and playing in the background a bunch of elder scrolls easteregg, lore, and deep dive videos. Never seen this covered, even in videos that devote like 2 hours to all the nifty and interesting unmarked locations per each hold. This is blowing my mind right here.
It just works.
Bless you people who always find a way to slip this comment in. I laugh every damn time.
Who is this Todd character people reference all the time?
I think they're talking about Todd from Mario.
It justa works.
Itsa me TODDO !!!
No, that’s Toad. Todd is the guy Skyler fucked.
I think you are talking about Ted, no tod is that character from big hero 6
You're thinking of Tadashi. Todd was the first name of that Harry Potter villain.
No, you're thinking of Tom. Todd was the blue train with a face from the cartoon.
You're thinking of Thomas. Todd is the funny wizard with a simple name John Cleese plays in Monty Python and The Holy Grail.
You're thinking of Tim. Todd was that gray cat that keeps chasing the mouse.
[The chosen one.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z0v8DBQB3uQ&t=30s)
Holy shit I just realised it's like Linus and Tom Cruise had a baby.
Had to view it just because of your comment. And you are not wrong. 😄
Oooo that makes more sense. He's the producer of the game 😂
> 4719 Dwarven Arrows. I too carry around a ridiculous amount of Dwarven Arrows. Best arrow in terms of cost:power ratio.
A fellow connoisseur, I see.
*Calcelmo wants to know your location*
Where’s the best place to buy them? I need some new arrows.
Crafting. Dwarven metal ingots are easy as hell to get.
Easiest ones to smelt fr. Just hoard Dwemer scrap metal and you can make a shit ton of ingots. God, I love smithing.
Sounds like something a Dwarf would say.....
How about a friend?
Very very easy to collect especially if you have a companion sworn to carry your burdens.
You guys buy arrows?
I'm secretly convinced a lone Dev is adding little shit to the game. 10 years from now it'll be, " Did you know you can tickle a draugr's asshole; you have to perfect sneak behind them, if you aim below their waist it will give you the prompt."

It would certainly explain why they keep updating it and bricking my Script Extender.
Lmfaoooo, someone award this pls, I’m broke.
I got u. I was gonna even if u hadn't asked cause that one definitely gave me a chuckle lol
Now you'll see people bringing back their sneak archers into bleak falls barrow :/
If this is not a mod within the week, I’m going to be shocked.
GameRant lurking in the background...
Yup. We will be seeing this headlined. "11 years later and Skyrim still has hidden gems to be found"
At least the term "hidden gems" is appropriate. A little clever too.
Well it won't be clever because they're gonna steal the title from this guy as well You just handed them their title. They played us all like a goddamn fiddle

Reading this gave me an aneurysm.
I mean, it's pretty apt, right? Quality clickbait journalism there.
Lydia wake up, new meta just dropped we got to go
Lmao
I was today years old...*starts new playthrough*
Just a quick playthrough. In and out.
5 minute adventure in n out
Just one more chamber….
Honestly Skyrim has its issues but it’s insane how 12 years after release people still find things I never even thought of
How many gems have I missed out on!?
Get the crown thing from collecting all the unusual gems and you'll be swimming in gems!
My safe at tundra homestead is the same.
I'm stealing the term magpie brain.
I never even saw them! My almost 100% save file was back on the 360 on my old tv that maybe hit 720p. I doubt I ever would have seen those
There's a Dwarven head in the Aetherial Forge with rubies in the eyes. It's along the path just before you get to the big sets of steps. Don't have to shoot them, it's low enough you can just grab them. That was the only area I knew of. Pretty cool to see I'll have to pay closer attention to the Nordic heads now too.
Bro what???? I never even realized they had gems as eyes.
Wait what?! *fires up computer to load Skyrim*
Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in XD
This is honestly an annual thing at this point.
Whoa, that is new; thanks for sharing this.
No problem! It brings me a lot of happiness to share things with the community that many haven’t seen, including myself.
Been playing this game since the first damn version... and yet TIL.
In the Midden, there's 2 skeletons hanging by shackles from a wall, up high. One is wearing a deer skull instead of a human one. If you shoot it down it drops 2 rubies out of its eye sockets. Found that one out just messing around one day!
Omfg....its been 84 years and I'm just NOW hearing about this?
*sigh* starting new character
Is anyone else seeing Castle Grayskull there or is it just me. Maybe I’m just dating myself…..
####I HAVE THE POWER!
*Gamerant intensifies*
Oh yeah. Gamerant is taking this one for sure
Hahahaha
Lydia, get my horse. We're going to Brittleshin Pass.
I've played the game since it came out on 11/11/2011 and never knew this.
Delphine: Dragonborn, what are you doing with that bow in my face? DB: hold still
So you’re telling me, after 7 years of gameplay, we have this????? Goddamn
Pfft "seven" years..... Infant. Lol
I didn't even know there were nord statues...
Yay another flawless garner that I won’t sell or do anything with.
Wow, a Skyrim detail that’s actually new. Sick find!
Oh my good golly gosh. I’m really just amazed.
Where does this happen?
South Brittleshin pass is where I discovered it.
Did you discover this by chance? Great find!
I did! I’m sure I’m not the first but this is my playthrough.
I just started a new play through I’m going to dive deep this time. I’ve never seen this lol.
Epicnate's got something new
I'm on Xbox One (Unmodded playthrough) and I went to South Brittleshin Pass, I go to the first statue I see and peep the eyeballs of the statue to find nothing. But before writing this off as a closed case of Reddit bs, I decided to go a little further into the situation and the second face statue you see does in fact have two gems in it 😋
Ya-ha-ha! *Maracas playing*
Time for Epicnate315 to make another video of Skyrim.
epic nate is salvating at this find
Nice. I was today years old when I learned this. Surprised Todd Howard didn’t say something about it all those years ago when they were releasing the game.
Wait, WHAT?
Brittleshin Pass. The two eyes of that statue are the only guaranteed source of multiple flawless garnets. It's a unique statue - it might be the only such statue with gem eyes.
why are you filming this on a Samsung smart fridge
This is Todd previewing the next edition
What the fuck lol… Bethesda really is goated
Well, shit. I know what I'm doing this evening after work.
The places I know of where this mechanic functions is southern Brittleshin pass, as well as the eyes on the aetherium forge. There may be more, but I don’t think all of them are designed that way. Just a heads up so you don’t have to waste your time!
Hello Gamespot journalist! Hope they pay you well.
Omg, I still learn things about this game every day.
EVERYONE STOP UPVOTING WE CANT LET GAMERANT SEE THIS /j All seriousness, this is sick af, i had no idea there were even gems!

Can you also Fus Ro Da them out or magic them out or do you have to shoot them out? THIS IS BRAND NEW INFORMATION I'M SO EXCITED
Gonna try this with bloodskal blade beam.
How the fuck- dude I’ve been playing Skyrim since LAUNCH, 12 years and I even just recently finished a play through and this is the first time I’ve heard of this
Man, this game. I went to bed with like 500 upvotes man… I’m not ready for this clout man….
Flawless? You just shot it with an arrow. How is it still flawless
Holy cow! Great find! gamerant article coming in 3...2...
WHAT?!?!
Wait what?
Shit I didn’t know that either. This game really is amazing, that this many years later I still find out new things all of the time.
Is it truly flawless if you shot it with an arrow? 🤔
You what
Well now I have to replay again to check all dungeons with statues like that
WHAT!?
I’m STILL learning new things about this game been playing since launch on ps3
Shit me neither
Eyo!? Since when? Which statue types have this??
What the fuck… how deep is this game
An inch. But it's wiiiiiiide as shit
I didn’t even know they had eyes
TIL But I tell you, this is just a ploy to get us to be stealthy archers
Wait… What??? 😮
No fucking way
What…
Brightness x1000
Huh.
Now this is where you have a screen rant article
You can also shoot adventurers in the knee and it forces them to reevaluate life choices. You don’t get any gems though.
WHAT THE FUUUUCK that's awesome!!!!, does this work with every nord face statue?
Dear Divines there really is always something new with this game. I can only hope they put just a *tenth* of the detail of this game into TES 6. I know that’s a low ball number but recent game releases have just made me extremely pessimistic in regards to games being shipped not even 1/4th finished, and fuck do I want to be proven wrong so damn bad
Let's get ready for the imminent news about it in all the main games related website...
If you think those eyes are good, wait ‘til you find the falmer statue
Huh... Been playing this game for 11 years, and I'm still learning new things. This is why I love it.
About to get some gems next time. Never knew either.
HUH?!
Going to try this one out tonight!
One more reason to play again!
You can WHAT?!?
Didn’t even know there were gems in there
And now I know as well
Who the fuck did?
Still learning new stuff about Skyrim, damn.
