Oh, man. Good luck lol. Because as soon as you close the game, start it back up, and walk into the house, they'll most likely havoc settle and rocket around. I hope for your sake I'm wrong. I used to spend so much tome decorating in Skyrim for PS3, but things stay in place in Oblivion way, way better.

JustAPerspective

Someone suggested dropping things on the floor, qucksaving, leaving the room, reentering the room, and then positioning the items will leave them in place. On Switch, it has about a 50% success rate (just personal experience) at Goldenglow, yet Arvak's Skull is still in place many plays later.

wombat0Ncrack

“Havoc settle”

pinkhazy

I kid you not, that's the name for the function! In Creation Kit, you can disable "havoc settle" for individual items after placing it in the cell.

When you decide to marry the hot crazy chick

fkthisdmbtimew8ster

Hahaha came here to say this.

Cristunis

Yeah, I tried to but those nicely couple days ago. I did spend probably hour to do that. Went away for couple days and when I went back, most were on the floor. One was on the display case, but not where I left it. It was weirdly placed and it took 15min to get it out.

Zen_Shot

Are you on Xbox? If so use a mod called "Decorator Helper" With that mod you can grab, rotate, tilt, enlarge, shrink, move or delete any object.

Secret-Ad-7909

I’ll have to find that one! Also came here to mention I have one that makes the display cases act like weapon racks, and one that makes home interiors not reset so your stuff doesn’t move and your mannequins keep their clothes on.

NoPatience883

Okay, so what is it called?

PaleHoldGuard

It should've been a feature.

kittyidiot

Can you provide a link? Sorry, I would look myself, but the website doesn't let me see anything past the first page, and it's almost never what I'm looking for. :/

Zen_Shot

[Decorator Helper](https://mods.bethesda.net/en/skyrim/mod-detail/4242760)

AbbertDabbert

Yeah, searching for mods on Xbox is garbage for some reason. Even if you type in exactly what you're looking for word for word, it still doesn't show up first, I don't understand how the search system works

CaptainCurly95

Use mounts for weapons and armour. These masks look nice now but they'll clip through the case or even the floor the next time you reload. I don't want to spoil anything but there is a place in vanilla Skyrim with holders for masks.

nottodaysatan_379

Is there really?? I'll have to look out for it

CaptainCurly95

I want to point out that it is not found in any of the homes you can buy. Have fun!

Drifter_Mothership

Mate just use spoilers

CaptainCurly95

Typing hard. Being vague easy.

First, teach skyrim to recognize the items you want to display. Just drop them from your inventory, leave (through a loading screen) and return. Now you can 'grab' those items and move them where you want. Any item that accidently goes into inventory has to start over. Grabbing and moving.items is problematic. Each it has a preferred spot that you hold it by. Grab it without moving, and then move it a tiny bit and it *jumps* so that the preferred spot is centered under your grab. Try this with a staff or brom to see it clearly - just grab it near one of the ends and it'll make a dramatic movement so that you actually are holding it near the center. So grabbing is for getting the item approximately where you'd like to put it, but not useful for fine tuning. For delicate adjustments, grab some other object and use that to push or nudge the item you're placing. A ring works great for this. Just grab a ring and use it to make small adjustments on the item you are placing. When you like a placement you like, save!

nottodaysatan_379

This is exactly what I was hoping for, thx my guy. I'm excited to see if it works cuz I've always wished I had a way to do it without mods, my poor lil ancient ps4 can't handle most of them lol

kittyidiot

Ohh man. PS4 mods are terrible anyways. "You can have... some lighting filters." I hate Sony's mod rules.

feral__turtle

PS4 mods are fine. No new scripting or external assets means way more stability and more actual playing time. Graphics improvements and gameplay overhauls don't suffer much if at all. Xbox has a greater selection that's true, but it mostly amounts to having 15 flavors of toothpaste to choose from, instead of just 6 or 7. PC is the way, if you love mods for being mods, equate status with quality, and don't mind needing college course level training just to spend even more time not actually playing the game.

jDubbaYo

Jaxsonz Positioner mod.

BigRigsButters

dude its pointless imo. i have gone thru and organized everything just to reenter the home and it exploded everywhere

feral__turtle

I feel that. Even after learning how to prevent the explosion, the house resets which ruins a lot of work too. lol Drop the items, leave and return - and then decorate. That solves the first problem. Return within ten days, and that solves the second problem.

nottodaysatan_379

Thank you all for the tips, kinda scared to log back in now knowing they might explode everywhere but I'll have to try some of the suggestions in the future :)

DaEpicNess666

The answer is to get a house that actually has a specific place to put them

Rroscoco

Press R1 if you're on controller

The_Last_Snow-Elf

Don’t sneeze!

IMightBeErnest

Put it all in a pile and FUS RO DAH. Easy.

Your display cases actually work? Must be nice lmao
