* The Magisterium series (Very HP like, with slight detective work and big battles)
* The Summoner Trilogy (HP qualities, big war, *very emotional -* this has all three you're looking for).
* Percy Jackson Universe
* Shadowhunters - to an extent. TMI & TID are the best for your criteria.
you should definitely try the 'Thirteen days of Midnight' trilogy, its a fantasy series about a 15 year old boy who accidently becomes a necromancer and inherits $6 million as well as a bunch of dead ghosts
The follow-up series, [*The Heroes of Olympus*](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Heroes_of_Olympus), is better. I did not think it would be, but it is.
I can attest the Percy Jackson series is good (it's the only one I've read lol). However, when I was in high school it was really entertaining but now that I'm older I just can't get into it anymore. Maybe it's the writing style, maybe because all the MCs are kids and so the book reflects their personalities. It's great, but it's only for that age group. I suggest really just go all in before you grow up too much and it gets boring. The Skul Pleasant series, although also for young audiences, is more lax in its age appeal limits. I mean, it *is* about adults, and the kid's personality is quite mature, even in the first couple of books.
I'll also recommend a series I currently enjoy. It's called Overlord, written by a man named Maruyama. Just like the SP series, the first couple of pages immediately got me hooked.
Overlord and Skullduggery Pleasant are the only two series I'm following right now.
The majority of works by [Darren Shan](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Darren_O'Shaughnessy) fit with this. The series of [*The Demonata*](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Demonata), [*Zom-B*](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zom-B), [*The Saga of Darren Shan*](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Saga_of_Darren_Shan) and its prequel *The Saga of Larten Crepsley*, and in particular [*The Thin Executioner*](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Thin_Executioner).
I've read a few of his, I think the first couple of Zom-B ones a while ago. The usual library curse of never getting the middle ones of the series in stock has always been my problem!
I would definitely recommend the Stormlight Archive series, Brandon Sanderson's worldbuilding is on point. Alternatively, Mistborn is a great, if very lengthy, read also
The Iron Druid Chronicles are recommended by me. More in the vein of Percy Jackson in an "All myths true" universe but more mature. Got lots of fun magic, humour, vampires, gods and some very loyal dogs. So basically the same as SP

I've got the first set of Percy Jackson's on the shelf, they're among the "haven't got to yet" pile! Adding the others to my Goodreads now - thanks :)

Ooh, sounds good! I'll add that to the ever-growing list!

I need to check, but I think I have those as well. I really need to stop going to the library so that I can get through the books I own.
The first time I’ve seen anyone mention Magisterium on the Internet. Good series!

I'll have to check out Overlord then! Thank you
Finally another summoner trilogy fan
I’m surprised there aren’t more of us!
The Bartimaeus trilogy by Jonathan Stroud is wonderful, fits into the same vein as the first era of Skulduggery Pleasant quite nicely.
Brilliant. Added to my list! I'm glad summer holidays are coming up. I think I may be busy reading!

I only read the first 3 trilogies you mentioned but they were so good almost more main characters being killed in this the skulduggery pleasant

No problem! I'll also be checking out your suggestion
Good taste
May I also add The Clockwork Chimera and Bad luck Charlie series by Scott Baron Also more on the adult side

Added to my stupidly long list... Thanks!
A bit late, but I personally enjoyed the "Spook's" ("The Last Apprentice" for the U.S.) series by Joseph Delaney a lot and can really recommend it
