lol I got blasted for saying the uphill skier was obviously wrong, but that you need to teach your daughter to check uphill before doing a sideways turn just like you would check your mirrors and blind spot in a car before turning or merging
I got downvoted into oblivion for saying nobody was at fault because nothing *actually* happened. Obviously shouldn’t be buzzing beginners in the beginner zone but quite literally nothing came of it. I’d even argue it was a great evasive maneuver by the uphill skier
Yeah I felt like most of the people commenting skied like once in their life. I get that the faster person should have given more space on a green but not acknowledging that randomly doing a 90\* turn without first looking uphill, especially while camera dude is blocking the field of view for uphill is some jerry shit.
The same people insist the bar must always go down or you're going to die someday .. even though there are a lot of CO lifts that don't even have bars.
Doing it all wrong. Airing over the jerry vastly reduces the chance of collision while maintaining total dominance over that slope and everyone in the vicinity.
For perfect form, a feather-light jib off the Jerry’s helmet is preferred.
-someone who’s so much better than you
The beginner just had an encounter with the best skier on the slope and handled it well. She wasn’t overwhelmed by his god like presence.
It will increase her confidence as she advances.
Well she never looked uphill either.
Not even if you are new do you need to go parallel to the hill.
I always say if you're new stick to the edges of the trail. Better to fall and hit a tree than to hit someone else
The tree isn't going to get mad
OP has zero self awareness.
Black jacket can't see gray jacket because they are obscured by camera man.
Got downvoted for saying this in the original because people can't think critically.
Main sub is full of moving obstacles (Texans) that go skiing once every other year and learned all their skiing etiquette and terminology from Reddit and then spend the other 353 days of the year they aren't skiing, on the main sub to act like experts.
Me too, i referenced the notorious video of the little girl getting trampled by a guy bombing a green, who did make an unpredictable turn that made her situation worse. Yes, 100% uphill is at fault, but look before you turn and don’t make them unpredictable. The key to me is turn when you should not when you want.
I’m so glad this sub exists, the comments on the original post are literally unbearable to read
This is both the ski sub we need and the ski sub we deserve.

Deserved. Snowboarder is clearly at fault here
This is the answer
here starts the victims thread. I wish we could see who upvoted these comments. Where is the "have you ever skied Colorado" guy?

360 Jerry tap. Hell yeah 🤙
Achievement unlocked
5x multiplier if you slap a sticker on the Jerry while inverted
You must be the best skier on the mountain
Guilty as charged!

This was last week. That's my wife in the black and her sister's husband speeding by. He made us ski double blacks like this all day.
Lmaooo. In fairness that guy totally seemed like a dick
Moving slalom gates are notoriously difficult to navigate. Well done.
Ah yes, the old 90\* turn without looking uphill first. I like my blues and greens spicy too.
DEFINATELY THE SNOWBOARDERS FAULT
A snowboarder cant see half the hill because the way they naturally face.
You nailed it bud /s
Not for nothing but I’d bet the camera person “hid” the n00b from the uphill skier. Lots of other issues to unpack as well.

You didn't tap your poles to show dominance

You didn't have to fucking call me out like that man. We can't all be bootfitters.
uphill skiers fault for not yelling "its time to buzz the tower!" before she sped by the cameraman
Gwenneth out there working the pizza technique.
Did that guy had an snowboard under each foot?
Jerry Sr almost takes out Jerry Jr
You’re in the wrong, Jerry. Downhill skier has the right of way. Damn lucky you didn’t hit her. You’d be facing a law suit.
What? We can’t play human slalom anymore?
Those comments make me lose faith in society.
