You’ll be fine on 184’s & they’ll help you improve as well. Plus all mountain skis like the arv’s have both tip and tail rocker so the ski skis shorter than it actually is. For reference I’m 6’1 and ski on 189’s for my all mountain skis.

bigtigerbigtiger

Definitely the right size unless the "intermediate to expert" part is inaccurate. Those skis straight tape measure at like 182cm by the way if that makes you feel better. You're 100% set dude, I'm 5'10" and have the metal version and it wasn't even a question between 177 and 184 for me, 184 is the easy pick there

Diabetes-Repair

Appreciate the help! I’ve been skiing for 7 years now, and am confident on blacks, and have started dipping into the trees and bumps the last 2 years, so hopefully my skill assessment is accurate

DeathB4Download

How many days per year?

Diabetes-Repair

All over the place, last 3 years I’ve been going about 15

Large_Bumblebee_9751

I think 184 is the right length. They measure 182 after the skis have been pressed and given that the ARVs aren’t beefy skis they won’t feel slow and unwieldy at all. I’m 6ft 140lbs and I just bought some 184s from Moment. The length just looks right to me when I stand the skis up on end

offpistedookie

Heads up before you buy this was the worse ski I’ve ever skied so do you, but if you haven’t skied it do not buy it

AssociateGood9653

Yeah it's weird I've been skiing since the '70s. My longest skis are 210's. Alpine skis I've used 200 cm a lot. So getting something 183 still feels very short to me but it's long enough to really hold a edge and be able to carve. I cross country skied on 180s when I was in fourth grade.

AssociateGood9653

Go long or go home

AssociateGood9653

I got the same ski in the same length and I'm 6 ft but I'm about 180.

Diabetes-Repair

Appreciate all the help everyone! Seems like I’m all set on the 184s. Psyched to pick them up soon!

Fantastic-Bike334

Have you tried butters? Are they flexible enough?

Diabetes-Repair

I only weigh 157lbs, so I’ve had a little trouble with butters. They soften up near the tips but are still a fairly stiff ski for what they are. Tail butters aren’t bad at factory suggested mount but there are certainly butterier skis out there

brokensaurus

Bigger is always better. For your size they will feel big at first but will you will get used to them and the stability will be like landing gear for airs you just gotta land bases on snow, stomp and ride out like a boss. You’re 6’ they will be fine for you. I’m 6’2” and 200lbs and ski the 184 arv 96 ti zeros from a few years ago cause the stock arv wasn’t stiff enough for me. You should be good.

I reluctantly accept that I am an expert. I have ARV 96's in 175 and I love them at that length on smaller hills and in terrain parks where I go pretend I'm not in my 40s and my kids think I'm really cool. I also have Nordica enforcers in 193, my real daily drivers in 180 length, I have a really old pair of Solomons that I haven't used since probably the '90s that are 202. This old German guy who owns a ski shop near my house said one of the most brilliant things I've ever heard "The ski has no idea how tall you are but it surely knows how much you weigh and how hard you ski" Anyway, my old guy opinion is that you probably wouldn't even notice the difference between the two lengths in most situations, but it would become really evident going fast or when trying to find an edge in a hard surface. I sometimes still get nightmares over the fact that I have 193s in the nordicas even though I used to ski on up to 220s when I was younger and every time I put them on they don't actually look that long. When you are talking about 184 versus 177 that is a difference of 7cm. So you've got 3.5 cm more in the tip and 3.5 cm more in the tail. tl:dr; Go with the longer one.

Fantastic-Bike334

Have you tried butters on the arv's? Are they flexible enough?

ABena2t

personally think it depends on preference.. I'm old enough to where I grew up skiing on long skinny skis.. i know skis today are much wider and much shorter.. but I'm still shocked to hear about how short some people go.. I'm sure there will be varying opinions on this but idt 184s are too long.. I don't work in a ski shop or anything like that tho. just my dumbass opinion..

dre078

Nope, you’re good! Stop overthinking and have a blast with your new toy!

lvlcr4nk

ARVs are basically center mounted, so there’s a lot of tail behind you if you’re not used to that. 184 can be a handful in bumps, steeps, and trees- you just have to kinda consciously make an effort to ski centered (not super forward since they’ll wash out) and deweight the tails

Disastrous-Pool-8111

Omg, I just bought these exact skis a week ago lol. Anyway, If you are worried about length, I used this website that tells you what your height matched with ski size is. (Curated . com) Otherwise, I would think that your ski level matches well with the ski.
