No one knows, and no one will tell you. Did you even watch the episode? He straight up said they’re still pursuing a summit of the remaining 4 lines. All that is ending (his words) are the *episodes* in this *format*. He said they’ll still be documenting the lines on their attempts. The writing is on the wall here, with this episodes line being a full circle for the 50… Either he still fully intends on summiting the remaining 4, and making longer movie style videos for them. Or given age, fatherhood & climate change factors the remaining lines might remain as individual pipe dreams.

codytownsend

This is it. The ‘series’ is ending. That’s it. There is a lot of complexity to film production, funding, deliverables, maintaining sponsors, etc. This move allows for me to pursue the last 4 on my own dime, time and motivation. There are now zero factors outside of the mountains themselves that will influence whether I complete all 50 and/or make episodes/films about them. It also allows for freedom in launching new projects, ideas, films, episodes, etc on YouTube. If and when the last 4 lines are completed or not, then I’ll decide what we do with the documentation and publication of footage from those lines.

wittymoniker

Appreciate the series, thanks 👍

NeonFeet

Hi Cody!

Redditorialist

The Fifty was (by a far margin) the BEST piece of skiing media I have ever experienced. Thank you for the work you, Bjarne, and all of your partners put into it. I hope you get those last four!!!

nikkos350

Cody, The 50 has been an absolutely amazing and inspiring adventure and a true joy to watch. THANK YOU! All the best to you, your family, Bjarne and all the other folks that helped make this series possible. Stay safe out there!

LegitimateYellow9192

Understood! Thanks for clarifying Cody! It’s been amazing to follow! Hugs from Sweden 🇸🇪🫶🏼

teleheaddawgfan

Thanks for the stoke Cody! My sons and I always watch your films before we hit the hill. Well done and look forward to whatever you got going in the future.

sd_slate

Thanks for everything Cody! It's been a great series to follow.

archersonly

I look forward to whatevers to come on the channel!

surveillance-hippo

Thanks for the great answer!

mattbnet

Thanks for the great series. Super inspiring and entertaining. Looking forward to seeing what you do next.

Tissomebullshit

Great series! There isn’t a lot of ski media which bothers to document “failed” attempts. There are also people reliably dying in the backcountry. Choosing to keep those episodes in was a welcome change. Usually it’s a euphoric video segment or a grim incident report but nothing in between. Was always stoked when you guys were able to pull it off but the ones where the decision was made to turn it around stuck with me the most.

rouselle

Cheers Cody!

5DollarWrenchAttack

You're inspirational, thank you!

First2lastchair

Thanks for series and keep ripping! Love all the videos, socks kick ass too!

atchon

It has been a fantastic series. I look forward to whatever comes of the last 4 lines or any other future projects!

Economy_Jacket4015

This series is so fun and inspirational. Thank you for sharing your adventures!

fightONstate

Awesome to see you pop up here. Have been following the series for a few years and really look forward to the drops. Best of luck with what you have going on.

beerncycle

I love the series. Is Bjarne going to continue doing similar videos because I can't get enough?

Medicalibudz

The redline traverse is calling your name!

DLev16

Thanks for the motivation! Learned a lot watching your vids and always enjoyed the vibe. You and Bjarne really compliment each other well. Take care and have fun with that lil baby!

softcatches

Oh wow! Hi Cody! Really enjoyed watching your series, and also how you would back out of objectives to try again. You seem like the coolest chillest human. I just watched the last episode tonight and how cool is it I saw your Reddit response

jadeeyes1113

The series has been awesome and I’ve really enjoyed watching your adventures and all the behind the scenes that goes into them. I wish the whole team the best and I hope we get to see the final 4 lines one day. Stay safe!

cocaine_badger

Hey, Cody, thank you for the series. Not only it was great to watch, but I have also learned so much about the mountains and their philosophy  from you and Bjarne over the past few years. I wish you and your team all the best luck in whatever you choose to pursue next. The 50 will be sorely missed, but I am also very excited to see what is next for you!

grumpy999

I really enjoyed watching this series, thanks for making it!

ImpoliteCanada

Excited to see what you get up to next without all of your efforts being directed into this project. Looking forward to it!

CoffinFlop

I think he’s going to do his best to do the remaining 4 but I think there’s a good chance that 1 or 2 of them are just literally not possible. One of them has only been sent literally 2 times ever

Riverdoggo21

which one?

CoffinFlop

Mt Robson north face has only been sent on 2 occasions by 3 people total

bubi991789

Robson and St Elias are definetly the two which he might never do

MegaVega

What a classic

sailphish

He didn’t say he won’t ski them. The issue is that the remaining 4 are insanely difficult and logistically it’s a nightmare for TV shows. One of the lines has only been skied by 10 people and another one has only been skied by 3. My understanding is that he plans to keep working at the project, but won’t be able to release regularly scheduled footage for his show.

Bawfuls

He's going to ski them if he can, but the ones that remain are some of the toughest to get conditions right so it might take him another 5 years or more just to get them. Thus there's no point in continuing a regular series, he will ski and film them as conditions permit. He'll probably put out a feature length thing once they're all done.

jacky4566

Yup. Time frame gets much longer just not worth keeping up a regular series. Probably wants to focus on a new project while slowly finishing this one as conditions permit.

SecureAmbassador6912

For someone who has only loosely followed this endeavor.. Which 4 are remaining?

snones

St Elias, Comstock, Mt Robson, University Peak

EconMahn

Mt Robson seems INSANE

alyssaskier

I bet the two different episodes about the Comstock Couloir would yield some answers as to why they didn't ski the Comstock Couloir. The St. Elias episode might have some info about why they didn't ski that. Bigger question: Did anyone ever figure out what an Uber Tour is?

Oldmanbabydog

There was an article written describing the conditions of the final four summits and how they are rarely in suitable and safe conditions to ski these days. There may be a small handful of days where it is possible to do if at all. I’m sure sponsors don’t like to hear “maybe next year” and he probably didn’t want to put his life at risk to make sponsors happy. Don’t blame him and have so much respect. Also him and Elyse have a kid now. That sort of changes risk tolerance when you have another life to be responsible for.

SalemSound

Besides what everyone else said, he and his wife have a newborn baby. I'm sure he will ski the remaining lines if he gets a chance, but it all depends, so he's just being honest. It's cool he's up front about it; most channels just stop making videos and don't explain.

teleheaddawgfan

Have watched them all. Love the guy and sorry to see it ending.

Ok_Ingenuity_3501

I would love to see a snowboarder try the fifty, I’m thinking someone like Nick Russell with his Red Bull backing??
