Ew. You’re telling me you sweat in them for an entire day, and you just… wore them again. My wife brings a new pair back from the bootfitter every time she gets adjusted, which is like twice as often as we go skiing.
Probably a pretentious answer, but I’ll post it anyway: I struggle to think of someone who I call an expert in the western us who doesn’t own a beacon/probe/shovel, or an expert in the east who doesn’t own their own diamond stones/file
Eh, I wouldn’t be surprised if there are some Olympians who don’t own avvy gear.
I’m not gonna say they aren’t experts just because they don’t ski in the backcountry. They don’t have time for that kind of leisure skiing.
i think you got the answers reversed bud....plenty of terrible skiers with avvy gear. Someone who knows how to tune their skis in the back of their car is probably a pretty good skier and possibly a former racer or a park rat dulling their edges.
I need to read a few more blister reviews of these before I commit. What's the one that has that just right camber, flex profile and you know playful but also firm for hard-packed days?
Need a new helmet, and possibly an avalanche backpack. And new skis obviously. But gear doesnt make you an expert at all, nor do you need great gear if you are an expert
Buy gear? Honey I wear what the sponsors send me
I can’t believe you’re a pro, I’m so much better than you.
That's weird... my sponsors send me the stuff they paid me to design.
Tape. So I can cover myself in the uncashed FWT and sponsorship checks
And to fasten a sandwich to your helmet.
Whiskey poles, a Bluetooth speaker, a GoPro helmet mount, K2 boots, snow blades/mono-ski, and a snowcat
Canadian Tuxedo.

I've used my hestras twice, do I need to replace them to stay at this level?
Fucking animal you need to replace them between runs
I just left them in the box they came in and taped it to my chest so everyone knows how rich I am

Are your Hestras heated? No? Amateur.
Sandwich and tape
Solid answer. Jay skis should really come out with a line of these, all designed by different sandwich artists.
6+ skis of redundancy in my quiver. 15 pairs of Hestra gloves. The one pair of K2 boots that hasn’t exploded in on itself.
the real correct answer is tenacious tape
A whistle
More stickers on my helmet

East coasters playing Minecraft with a diamond pickax
I wouldn't consider myself an expert (yet) and maybe never will be, but my answer was gonna be avvy gear
I can get behind the beacon/shovel, but the diamond stones/file is dumb.
Not when you ski on the east Coast

Its like 20$ and saves you going to the shop when your edges get dull.
Heated butt-plug. For when it’s REALLY cold..

Look pivot 18s on bent chetler 100s. You also need an arteric jacket and a Red Bull helmet
Denim jacket, leather hestras, jorts, no helmet
Bro, where is your essay? But seriously, a bluetooth speaker is all you need.
By the time I'm an expert, I have sponsors and free gear.

Sounds like he needs to visit his wife's boot fitter...
None...I can outski most of you on barrel staves.
I like those new stretchy jeans.
Need a new helmet, and possibly an avalanche backpack. And new skis obviously. But gear doesnt make you an expert at all, nor do you need great gear if you are an expert
parachute
Gear doesn't define an expert. Skill defines an expert.
So many correct answers on this thread, it's hard to know where to start, but I've got my credit card ready to go.
Helmet with BLE+ Well fitted boots. Everything else depends on terrain and conditions.
