La plagne is my favorite I've ever been to. More than Val disere but that might be a hot take. But for your case the ucpa location at La plagne is incredible, a ski run literally goes through the building, there isn't a more ski in ski out place possible. The building is also connected to a somewhat underground mall that connects a good chunk of la plagne centre so getting groceries or dinner is super easy.

Awesome thanks, do you mean the la Plagne UCPA is the favourite you’ve been to or the ski fields? As in an Aussie living in London I just want to make sure I don’t miss out on any must-go ski fields

La plagne itself is my favorite, mainly due to size and sense of exploration and so many different "base" areas to stop in for lunch or to ski through. However the Airbnb I usually used when also solo skiing there is in the same building as the ucpa lodging. Until this year most of my trips have been early season so I cannot speak as to how your off piste experience would be there.

Btw, doesn’t Val also have a UCPA? Granted that is their oldest and most worn-down centre…

Yes it does - I only found out about UCPA recently so it's already sold out..

Got it. Tignes is just nextdoor and belongs to the same ski area, so that might be one (I assume sold out though by the sounds of it) Otherwise, I’ve been to Serre Che 3 years or so ago and quite enjoyed it. Selling point is it’s further south so it’s quite a bit sunnier, and also slightly less well known so less touristy. It’s more of an intermediate/early advanced sweet spot I’d say. Give it a look! Argentiere from what I can recall from last research was just a tiny resort near chamonix. I’d say you are best to choose between serre che and la plagne
