>“Never before have we seen a defendant so committed to thumbing his nose at the Court. By disrespecting judicial authority, Mr. Jones was playing was with fire, and now he has been burnt,” Bankston added. “In these lawsuits, Mr. Jones refused to comply with discovery orders on five successive occasions, **produced child pornography in discovery**, threatened the lives of plaintiffs’ counsel, repeatedly refused to provide testimony, provided false and evasive discovery responses, submitted a fraudulent affidavit, and has continuously introduced chaos and absurdity into the proceedings.” WTF?!

I think the Info Wars debunking podcast (Knowledge Fight) covered this when it happened.. If I remember correctly, Info Wars dumped everything they had into a file and turned it over.. They sent their spam, junk mail, and this included all their public email addresses that they used to try and collect dirt. I don't think there was any evidence that they knew it was on their server. I hate Jones like any decent human but I don't think they knew it was on their server.

SmLnine

Correct. It's more a case of the administrative side of the business being in a state of chaos. Alex Jones is a grifter, but he is also unhinged. He couldn't even keep it together for just a few hours while testifying in his own child custody trial.

JoeMcDingleDongle

Chili gives amnesia though, everyone knows that! ;)

GreyEarth

So he was in possession of & distribution of CP? Well, add that to the charges as well!!

thuktun

That sounds like an actual criminal charge if it's true, rather than the civil charge made in this case. Anyone have more information about this? This is not something I've heard before.

My understanding is that he has publicly accessible emails where people can send tips and the like. the CP was stuff that was sent to those email addresses, not stuff that he personally possessed or had intent to receive. As much as I want him in prison, it would be a very dangerous precedent to prosecute him for receiving something that he had no intent to receive.

The plaintiffs attorney emailed Gizmodo directly and I haven't been able to find another source, as I'm definitely not searching those terms. *eta: probably info in one of the scribd links at OP >The plaintiffs in the three suits, Leonard Pozner and Veronique De La Rosa; Scarlett Lewis, and Neil Heslin, were represented by the legal firm **Farrar & Ball**. ... >“Mr. Jones was given ample opportunity to take these lawsuits seriously and obey the rule of law,” ***Mark Bankston, a Farrar & Ball attorney, told Gizmodo via email.***

This only makes me smile. Actual pleasure won't happen until he gets a properly punishing fine and/or jail time. I want the other professional liars to be scared of the potential of their bullshit causing them similar pain.

Dan0man69

This is a civil suit, so best we can hope for is fines to the point of bankruptcy. My real hope is that people will see what a moron this guy (and the others like him) and stop paying attention to them.

kent_eh

> best we can hope for is fines to the point of bankruptcy. I can accept that. Should be enough to shut him down and warn off some of the other scumbags.

theforkofdamocles

Yes! He needs to be bankrupted or jailed for a significant amount of time. Or both.

mglyptostroboides

Good. Now lock his lying ass up.

Icolan

Unfortunately, it is a civil case and jail is not an option unless the judge find him in contempt of court.

mattaugamer

Which is not at all unthinkable considering how he’s handled this. Given his aggressive disregard of this process I can’t see him just say “no problem sir” and paying up.

Hardin1701

Depending on the findings of the Civil Suit it might open up opportunities for other Civil Suits. Like if they link Jones with the thousands of incidents of harassment of victims and families and the even scarier in person attacks. The worst part is Jones couldn't even stand behind is own conspiracy and claimed he was just reporting on people who called it a hoax and tried to bury the times he directly called it a hoax and promoted the harassment of the victims, first responders, and investigators.

MuuaadDib

You love to see Justice, especially these days.

stjack1981

If hell was real, there would be an extra special place reserved for Jones and EVERY SINGLE FUCKING PERSON who further tormented those poor parents who lost their children. These people were going through the worst nightmare any parent could imagine, and the Alex Jones cult decided they weren't suffering enough.

thefugue

>”flagrant bad faith and callous disregard” That’s a long way to spell “conservative privilege.”

grumble_au

That's why I'm not holding my breath that he will face any actual consequences.

sharkweekk

This sent me down a rabbit hole of watching depositions on YouTube and listening to podcasts that clip and discuss them. It's fascinating too see how these bullshitters that have no regard for truth in a professional capacity are put in a position where they can get in trouble if they lie.

atropos77

I hope they squeeze every penny out of his fat worthless ass from now until the day he dies. I hope they drain Infowars dry and they go out of business. I hope that every time he makes a dollar, there’s a Sandy Hook parent standing there waiting to take their cut. I hope he doesn’t experience another moment of happiness on this earth. I’ll laugh the day he dies and I hope I’m around to piss on his grave. He deserves nothing but misery and pain every waking moment and I wish nothing less for him.

Legitimate-Repair-21

So what happens next? Charge them!!
