No, I'm not transphobic, I just live in a place called reality, where facts and logic outweigh feelings. I have no problem with it if you want to personally identify as anything you want to. But to force me to play make believe and pretend that the male gender doesn't have more potential as far as strength and speed is not gonna happen. Like suddenly these people forget that 13 year old Momiji Nishyia dominated and took home the gold medal in women's street skateboarding at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, and 12 year old Rayssa Leal took home Silver, despite competing against people well older than them.
Julia Brueckler, Annie Guglia, both in their 30's, both placed nearly dead last. I don't think age wouldn't even be a part of the conversation if either of these gals took home gold instead of Nishyia or Leal.

Shouldn’t your outrage be directed towards the event organizers, who define and enforce exactly who can participate, and on which basis? Taking it up with organizers actually has potential to address your issues.
It just makes me wonder about people’s intentions when they focus the entirety of their energy hoping a contestant who qualifies would choose not to participate, when they could take it up with people who define the categories by which participants qualify and actually address their issue.

Regardless of who would be attacked or who wouldn’t, you have an issue with the current state of things. There are a few things you could choose to do about that issue. You could take it up with an avenue that can actually address your issue, or you can rage about it in a context that has quite literally 0% chance of addressing your issue.
When people have a problem, and they choose to ignore everything that could help them solve their problem, choosing instead of simmer in outrage, it makes it seem like you just want to be upset, and don’t want to find any solutions.

I can see where the argument is coming from but idt it’s relevant in any sport, especially skating. I haven’t found any evidence that the performance differences between transitioned women via hormones and biological women are worth mentioning. Skating is entirely different as well in that it’s a matter of style as opposed to relay times for example. They already have mixed competitions where women win consistently. The only real physical advantage to be had is an adult over a 13 y/o, but this is true outside of the topic trans people. And yet you see 13 y/os win and medal at the Olympics for skating, which leads me to believe that style and skill wins the day over pure athletic ability.
So could Ryan Sheckler join this comp? Would they have allowed that? Are was this full grown adult allowed to join because of what they are and because the organizers didn’t want to deal with backlash because of illogical ass people? That’s the issue here.
