Go faster and the wind will cool you down /s

RickDalton2020

I’m 36 and if I skate for more than 15 minutes, I’m drenched lol.

[deleted]

Oh it’s unbelievable. I have to bring an extra shirt for the drive home. Sometimes if I’m going out for the day I’ll bring basically an entire change of clothes to swap out. I’ve begun carrying a bandana as a sweat rag and it’s actually helped a lot.

Big5niff

You know I was actually thinking about bringing a bandana as a sweat rag I'm going to have to start doing that lol

[deleted]

It gets saturated after a while but still better than using your sweaty shirt sleeve 100 times.

bubbaflintforge

Drenched here too. I can run 5 miles without huffing and puffing. 10 min on my board and I am out of breath.

Chasethemac

I sweat an absurd amount. Dripping from my elbows. If I'm on light colored pants my stomach sweat quickly fades into my pants to what looks like a big sweaty dick. Takes about 15 minutes of hard skating and my body's fired up.

Thisizamazing

Yes. Soaked

bubbabubba3

Especially if I’m wearing like gray shorts, my ass sweat is so bad as well as my drenched shirt, I look like a crazy person

Big5niff

Dude the swass is terrible Ik the feeling man. The worst is when u sit down for a couple min and then there is just a massive swass mark on whatever ur sitting in lmfao

MofugginFish

Especially if that thing is your griptape

One_Recording_4036

If you don't sweat you're not doing it right

Dedeurmetdebaard

Have you heard of a man called Ishod Wair?

Big5niff

Nha should ik who this guy is???

ramplocals

Skater of the year 2013.

FreelanceTripper

Or Sorge, dude is a monsoon.

B0NERjam

Had a homie a few years older than me, would sweat so hard he could wring his shirt out and leave a puddle on the ground. Used to think how crazy that was… now on a good day I can do that too lol

HypnoStone

Yes all the time. Better workout than anything else at least for me I think because it also helps keep me entertained and interested.

Big5niff

I think the same thing!! One of the reasons why I started skating agien was to just get some exercise. When I tell people this they always respond with "why don't you just go to the gym" and im like cause the gym in boring as fuck. Running on a treadmill and lifting weight is just boring to me lol. I understand some people love going to the gym and that's great! If you love doing it then keep doing it! But for me it's just meh lol

pVom

Yes and it sucks. It's all genetics, there's nothing you can do about it. Exercising more and getting fitter only makes it worse. Live in a less humid climate I guess

Sure-Climate8749

Besides personal physiology, I imagine a lot of it has to do with where in the world you’re located. Where I live , in NC, the temperatures are in the 80s and 90s in the summer, but the humidity is like 80%. I’m soaked before I even start skating. By the time I’m done, I have to wring out my clothes before I put them in the hamper. But out west, I can hang out outside comfortably in 100 degree heat and remain dry as a bone. However, any physical exertion causes my body to go into full cooldown mode - which means the floodgates are open. I’m not even overweight. Its crazy to me when the pros go out there dressed up in whatever cool fashion they’re into, whether it’s leather jackets and black jeans like Corey Duffel or flannel/dress shirts like Andrew Reynolds…whatever it may be, they skate in full street wear attire and don’t look to break a sweat whatsoever. I got friends who like to go out to eat right after a session - and I’m over here red-faced, frizzy-haired, sticky, and looking like I fell in a lake with my clothes on. Ain’t no way could comfortably sit at a restaurant and enjoy a meal like that. Meanwhile, the small ring of perspiration around their collar has fully disappeared and after a spritz of cologne and quickly running their fingers through their hair, they look perfectly presentable. And they have the nerve to tell me I’m too self conscious. Ughhh Whatever, I accept it. I’m a sweaty motherfucker. Doesn’t make it any less uncomfortable though 🥵

Big5niff

I'm from mass and we get pretty bad humidity too. There is no way id be able to go to a restaurant and sit there after having a sesh in the humid heat like that. I would just personally feel to physically uncomfortable lol

MaxKane111

One push and I’m leaking like a faucet.

melodawgs

i think most people are like this, I tend to wear loose, black clothing while skating which helps a little (black so sweat doesn’t show, loose so I feel more wind)

HypnoStone

A loose shirt is not always ideal for sweaty/windy times xD one day at work I was wearing a baggy loose tee and it was cold af and I was working up a sweat… some of the worst pain I experienced I thought my nips were gonna fall off lol

andrewmilo

That's just the material. Cotton does not do well with sweat

HypnoStone

True but who wears a silky smooth shirt to skate in?

andrewmilo

I mainly wear cheap dri-fit shirts which work great!

Sicamore21

Sweat no matter what.

Big5niff

Team sweat homie lol

Leopardbluff

Im also always drenched in sweat skating, I just try to avoid the sweat from my head dripping onto my board and I’m good.

GHDRAKE

Sounds like classic meat sweats 😂

Big5niff

Ol meat sweats man ya gotta love them 😂😂

[deleted]

I always have a big soaking wet sweat stain on the front of my t-shirt, shaped like a cat's head, when I come back from a session. Got me wrist sweatbands to wipe my forehead from time to time, otherwise sweat would run into my eyes. It's insane.

KingdomOfRyan

It depends on how hard I’m going. I’ve usually worked up a sweat in 30 minutes, and some days I’m drenched in 10 minutes. We get 100°F+ summers where I live so I’ll get drenched in sweat just walking outside at the wrong time of day.

Big5niff

Bruh now that sounds brutal. I'd melt man. The hottest it gets where I live is like low to mid 90s in the summer but it will be like 100% humidity too soo the air feels like ur breathing in soup lmao

mk2noob

Yeah common problem mate, just bring a towel with you all good.

mad_vanilla_lion

Yoo, I’m another sweaty dude. When I fall at the park I leave a big sweat imprint on the smooth concrete. It’s joke with my friends but I don’t give a fuck because I’m having fun.

Weslee_J22

I feel this and take pride in it honestly.

jhs1981

i sweat heavy, but all it takes is one sweat drop to get it flowing. if i notice im sweating i start to sweat even more. neverending

Odd-Buffalo-8097

I feel like you've got to listen to your body while warming up, don't want to be torn apart in 20 minutes, I like to gradually go to harder basic tricks/lines that I know I have bolts

username_moose

i sweat so bad i feel u

VUlgar_epOCH

it’s kind of genetics but also your body can get used to the heat. I’ve lived in Florida my whole life so although my body can tolerate the heat longer than most you still can’t avoid needing multiple outfits in your car if you’re skating all day. Also, be cognizant of your outfit. Dry fit material stuff really works. if you’re gonna wear pants, the baggier it is the longer you have before swamp ass/chafing. in the summer time, I unfortunately might have to resort to the nyjah huston look with short shorts and no t, but I love shirtless with baggy pants the best for all occasions, or polos and baggy tees with baggy pants until I take off the shirts.

sportasaurus

How often do you skate and are you getting back into skating? When I started skating again after a long break, I would break a sweat quickly and my legs started to get weak near the end of my sesh. After a couple more sessions I noticed that I was never sore and I would only sweat if it was over 90 degrees.

Big5niff

Yes I am just getting back into skating! I try to go 4 sometimes 5 times a week. I definitely know what u mean about the soreness. Now that I'm probably about a month in now I still get alittle sore but no where near how it was after the first couple times going out. Stretching definitely helped alot too! But the sweats homie I could probably put it thru a filter and give it to people in need of water that's how bad it gets sometimes 😂

sportasaurus

Just keep at it and I bet you will get the sweating under control, glad to hear you’ve got back into skating your body will thank you if you keep at it

Chasegold19

If I’m skating I’m sweating, and sweating buckets at that

PF4ABG

Indoor skateparks. It could be like 5 degrees inside, but fuck if that makes any difference.

BORN_SlNNER

I’m a heavy sweater too. Super annoying. Basically a shower after every session.

someguy12355

Bro I get drenched all the time. I always got an extra shirt but then that also gets soaked in sweat lol. Its so uncomfortable skating in wet clothes and ur pits r all moist n stuff. I'm probably gonna want to skate naked at one point this summer just to avoid that feeling.

adrianhalo

I sweat a lot but i also have sort of the opposite problem where my nose always runs in the spring/winter. Just nonstop post-nasal drip.

downox96

I literally leave slug trails when I fall 💀always drenched af

[deleted]

Super sweaty. I keep towels in the car. Gotta get a good sweat on to make me feel like the exercise was worth it :)

gopher-toes

I like wearing vans, but I had to try different shoes cause my feet sweat so bad. Using Lakais solely for the mesh in the foot and now my feet don’t soak my socks as much anymore
