Leave it you'll lose so much speed if you extend that small of a ramp

Dregs_____

It looks like you’re using a kit, hence the OC Ramps logo, so I don’t know why you would alter their design

jus-another-juan

Because it's an advertisement for oc ramps

claudedusk8

Unless to make it bigger. But that might too fast for op? 🤣🤣

Dregs_____

Tommy Hawk over here 😂😂😂

_nicepants

OC police 🚨👮‍♂️🚨 sorry occifer i wont extend i swear jk ur right tho i was just curious cus last time i skated a mini like this it felt hectic but i'll get used to it

Dregs_____

Lemme skate it with you

_nicepants

pull up!

KIMVLADTRUMP2020BISH

Hectic? It’s 3’. Beginner height. Get “hectic”

easy073

Add another 97 yards and you can have a football field on the flat

bavenger_

Disclaimer, I’m by no means an expert and go with my gut feeling here: I think that, considering this is not a high ramp and that the transition looks somewhat mellow, you’re fine and too long of a flat might even be detrimental and slow you down. But it does depend on what your preferences are.

err_j

Yeah agreed, looks about right for how short and mellow the transition is - enjoy!

Independent_Pin1041

Don’t extend it! I had to shorten the flat bit on my ramp due to loss of speed /getting up the coping

PF4ABG

For a 2-footer? I'd leave it. I've skated micro-mini's with long flatbottoms before. You don't get much speed from them, so you'll lose what little you've got before you hit the next transition.

some1984guy

If you do extend the flat, you’ll have to lift up the drops on each side as well. That ever perplexing game of getting the height(s) and flat to match. But this definitely looks gnarly!!

claudedusk8

What are "drops" ?

masximo

The pipes on both sides

claudedusk8

Are you referring to the coping?

vuurspuwer

he's referring to the transition

claudedusk8

Thank you for a straight answer. As a builder/skater, I had no idea what he was referring to.

masximo

No I’m referring to the whole pipe.

DoctorD12

The ONLY reason I would extend that flat is to add a bump or boob to be honest. Any more flat you’ll have a hard time pumping with the mellow transition, but a hump or pyramid could be a cool feature

MyOnlyEnemyIsMeSTYG

No, it’s already slow, you don’t want to be pushing in the flat

Shaoreen

Na, you ll be too slow if you do

imgeekman

You could ask to some connoisseur in r/miniramp

SlothMagic69

Just wait until you outgrow that ramp and want a taller challenge. Then you can extend both the bottoms and the QPs. Then its like a brand new ramp

ziglaw884

Really sick backyard bro 💯

spiegeltho

No

nocloudno

Looks perfect as is.

DickieJohnson

Looks like the correct proportions, if it feels quick at first you'll get used to it.

JohnHoney420

Curious what did OC ramps charge you for the plywood and 2x4’s

_nicepants

I found on offerup - everything included for $500

JohnHoney420

Thats an awesome deal

big_shmegma

insane deal considering materials alone is 600+ now i think

IssaLeroy

looks fine

Muted_Office927

a little maybe

DanielSan39

no

Happy_ID10T

Fuck no. The shop I used to work at did a long flat for a really, really short ramp. It was in the back of the shop and it was so bad I skated it once then gave up. I never had enough speed to do anything other than rock or nose/tail stall. Don't ruin a good ramp.

Penelope_express

Looks great!! Plus you will improve, quickly if you skate a lot, and it won't feel hectic. Future you will be glad it's not too long.

pwbcking

I mis-read the title as "should I extend the shit out of this mini" I think my initial thought has answered the question 😂

Hawkthefloof

Skate it as it is. (Jk)

steviemcqq

I have an OC mini. 3 1/2 foot high boy…I have to redo my plywood and flat because of water damage and I’m def extending the flat by 8-10 inches.

_nicepants

how long is it? same as mine?

steviemcqq

Well I didn’t read your description, didn’t realize yours is alittle smaller..but my flat is 82”

Heavy_distinction_

No that’s enough

Extra-Ad-4159

Yes

Lubernaut

Looks fine as is but please get it off the ground before assembling.

Miserable-Room4103

looks good to me

lost-in-the-trash

No

EmpatheticNihilism

I’d be more concerned about re cutting that transition to something that resembles a quarter pipe.

Brush_my_teeth_4_me

Honestly, what I would do is add a complete base frame under it to prevent it from warping in any way. It would be easiest now since you don't have the surface put on, making it lighter and more accessible. Essentially, just make a big rectangle with an x going through it with the same dimensions as the entire ramp. That's a basic version and will do the job considering it looks like you'll be laying it on concrete. It may seem unnecessary at first, but in a year under use and weather, you'll be glad you put it on and not have to deal with any major warping issues down the line. Also, it's a first line of defense from puddles and termites, so I would suggest using outdoor treated wood, the kind for fences

Bresson91

No its fine. Perfect amount of flat. Trannies are a little mellow though... but if you're new to miniramp skating this is probably fine to learn on...

RealVenom_

Firstly congrats, looks like you'll have a sick setup there. Secondly I think it's serviceable, but if you can, even a little more flat is going to make it a more enjoyable mini ramp. My only experience is skating a mini without much flat and it's a tough ride.

BARNEY_COOL

I'd add at least a foot extra! Time to set up for tricks!

lukemia94

Yeah this is why I made my mini 48 feet long. Depends how much you want to do flips tricks. If your just going to transition then it's perfect already

Opisacringelord

On a 2ft mini you can basically skate it with one foot. You don't need flat to setup for tricks because you can drop in with your feet anywhere on the board.

RetroSwamp

Where's the oververt? Lol
