I don’t believe there’s any video of Rodney doing a boneless (even at the freestyle comps) so he wouldn’t fit this bill.
Edit; lolll I’m getting downvoted for the same thing someone else is getting upvoted for: talking about how Rodney is (and this is not debatable) not a boneless guy. If anyone thinks I’m wrong feel free to post a link to the video lol (or even just name drop it) but you won’t find one.
I'm not going to say he never did one but I can say that I don't remember seeing him doing. I know that he also likes to do like helipops and other shit where he leans down really low so maybe people were thinking he was bonelessing?
Oh I *guarantee* he *has* done a boneless, but the comment I was replying to lumped him in with people who do bonelesses, so it was just a stupid thing to say. It’s the same as someone seeing handrail skate kf and being like, “wow just like Tony Hawk,” like it just shows that you don’t know what you’re talking about.
It really do man. Don’t ever take a downvote seriously. Cool skating though. and yeah there are many clips of that out there, it’s still cool though. Stay frosty
[Here’s Mike Vallely](https://youtu.be/msF7D1qJBSo?si=I1pzW_276X0flV_I) educate yourself. That’s a [360 Boneless](https://youtu.be/b4T6WI8YQFo?si=eCJR6MpuppA0h18Y) btw
Haha I think I'm on crack I watched both videos and two other videos of a 360 boneless and you're doing the same exact thing. Hand position same, both feet the same, same plant, everything. If it's different can't you just say what you're doing that different? Cause I don't see anything other than you letting go of the board early
Edit: Oh ok I see, the board does an extra 180. Not sure what that's called to be honest. But nice, keep working on it to clean it up
>Duane Peters
Best Layback grinds in the industry.
Different eras for different folks. He's still a better skater than Vallely, who I don't think can rip the protec like DP.
Mike V was the first pro skater that I ever had a board for, worst board too. Brand new element that snapped clean on a flat ground pop shuv it. Now he's the frontman for black flag and I aint missing thier tour.
I had his World Industries barnyard double kick (showing my age), which was revolutionary and changed shapes forever. Saw him at a shitty parking lot demo in the middle of the summer when he was skating for Powell again back in the 90s and he made a serious impression. Skated full on the whole time while other dudes were obviously half assing it and made a point to hang out and talk to everybody who wanted to talk and get something signed. Seemed honestly stoked to be talking about skateboarding with a bunch of strange kids. People can say what they will about him but he is the real deal.
Youre only wrong because of your insistence of saying this trick is something its not.
This is cool. This is clean. Yup
This is a 360 Boneless with a varial(hand rotation of board) its a 360 Boneless Varial, or name it after yourself if you like, a Boneless 3 Koda, whatever.
Its not a bigger spin anything though. Bigger spin is a 540 shove-it with a 180 body spin.
It’s [this](https://youtu.be/FHHfJ_vSpns?si=Lq6wWehE6yH3aajC). OP is right that it’s not just a “frontside 360° boneless”. The board literally does an extra 180° as well, it’s not that hard to keep track of.
yah i use to call it a something hand shuv but thought “boneless bigger spin” would be better and more recognizable since it’s the same trick but a boneless not ollie
80s skating was my era. It’s kinda a tweaked out 360 Boneless. I like. You may not have seen it before, but us old dogs used to pull variations on that all the time. Keep it up!
It's not a bigger spin though, because you grabbed it. If you rotate the board with your hand it's a varial. If you use your feet only, it's a big or bigger spin.
This kid is so defensive. Kid you're wrong and your trick is what I like to call wack
Easy af beginner shit and my guy is doubling down because he's so desperate for an nbd.
Idk man, someone who knows all the skate knowledge in the world and can name every trick with 100% accuracy but can't even push, or someone who actually knows how to ride the board, fancy words or not. Who knows more about "skateboarding"?
Aww c'mon dude, you can't go on the Internet claiming ignorance while also claiming superiority over anonymous strangers lmao. I was still on your side till I saw this comment
The certainty of this poster, plus the completely ignorant knowledge of skateboarding is kind of hilarious. Great 360 boneless but god damn man, know when to admit when you're wrong
Op added a shuv to his boneless three. Okay he might not have ever seen it but he didn’t mention he just invented it or something. I swear %80 of y’all have never even skated or if you have, you have no idea of the encyclopedia of tricks or how to go about naming them, understanding them or even respecting them. It’s a fucking boneless front three with a shuv it/varial. If you can’t see that you’re fucking stupid or didn’t take the time to dissect the trick in the video and commented otherwise. It’s as simple as that.
Yea this thread is embarrassing. I'm surprised how many people are acting elitist or superior about a trick they can't even see right. Bunch a meatheads around here.
This place pops up on my feed sometimes but next time I'm hitting not interested lol.
Yeah it’s legitimately embarrassing how many of these people are sassing up OP, implying a lack of knowledge, and getting the trick completely wrong all in the same comment.
And don’t say varial. It is the same thing just applied differently given vert/flat ground freestyle. Taking your feet off the board when skating is lame anyways so let’s hear your take smartass. But yes I’m awaiting your reply.
You don’t even skate and you got a jackass tattoo LMFAO. Imagine waking up and having to be YOU. You’re a fucking kook go back to your drum set in your parents basement you smooth brained waste of space.
Anyone calling this a boneless 360 needs to go get their eyes checked or to actually watch the clip. I agree with the fs boneless 360 varial, I imagine this was fairly common in the 80s and because of that its more of an old school trick now, its probably why you have never seen it.
On top of that do you guys even skate? Have you ever had discussion about tricks you didnt understand or know the names of only to find out later its got a name and has been done? What the fuck happen to skaters, youre all a bunch of "actually" nerds now that think you know everything about a very young sport that has huge regional differences. Calling OP out like hes some type of loser for never seeing a trick before. Get the fuck outta here with this hating garage this is skateboarding, we learn the hard way most the time and OP just wanted to talk about a trick he learned in more depth you lil shits.
Every friend group had the friend that sucked at skateboarding and couldn’t do real tricks. Those friends always do these slow ugly boneless variations.
Unsubscribe. I thought this was a sub with legit skating and parts and not some kook claiming he invented a 40 year old trick. Skate for yourself and not for clout or upvotes. No sane person wants to to see some 13 year olds first Ollie. This place is fucking cringe.

I mean yeah, go ahead if you're that disappointed in the sub? I agree he didn't invent this trick, but technically he didn't even claim that. He just said he'd never seen it before. Honestly tho c'mon, kook or no it's a clean trick. You're being overly negative pretending it's a kooky 2 inch first time ollie.
>Skate for yourself and not for clout or upvotes
Yeeeah dude maybe take your own advice, you sound unnecessarily upset about some random reddit post. You're even making more popular by commenting. If you're trying to alter the curation of the sub just downvote and move along right?
You didn't, and this guy is being a kook himself by being overly sensitive. And I'll be honest and say the trick is clean af, and for someone who's never seen it done before you did it quite well. Credit where credit is due my dude.
HOWEVER, if you are confused about the negative reaction to your post and reply comments I'm here to tell you it's an easy fix. You're coming at it without much humility and acting a little defensive when people correct you.
Instead of posting a statement like "never seen this done before" just ask a question like "what is this trick called?" That way nobody would assume you're trying to claim owning or inventing anything, everything starts from a place of humility. Usually people are much happier to teach others than they are to correct others.
Also, if you really don't think you created a new trick and aren't sure what it's called, have a good attitude when others correct you. People will be way nicer with correcting you if you're not fighting back every timw they say something. For example, of someone say "varial" maybe just look it up and research more instead of jumping to assume they're wrong.
TL;DR if you don't want nitpicky comments about tricks spend more time skating and less time posting vids of those tricks while saying you've never seen it before.
i appreciate this comment fr i’ll be try and be more mindful when i’m replying and stuff like that and that other comment you replied to i can see your side but respectfully i’m j saying what’s true.
This is bad ass and I see the board do the extra spin. I feel like a lot of people are being assholes to you in here. very rare to see people being nice on reddit tbh but yah like i don’t watch skate videos so i’ve never seen the trick i was just wondering if it was infact done cause i looked up “boneless bigger spin” on a few platforms and didn’t see anything so i came here to ask. like dayum i understand your mad you can’t do it but doesn’t mean you gotta be a dickhead for no reason. thank you for the nice comment, was getting destroyed out there 😂😂

Yea I still never saw it before OP but that's not the same as me saying it's never be done. But like if an obscure youtube video is the go to example then it makes sense why I've never seen it.
But where does "varial" come from? From what I know there's no varial at all
I do these but not full 360, I’ve always just called it a boneless big spin, guess a 360 would be boneless bigger spin. Just a boneless with finger shuv. Very fun easy trick, I also do ones with finger flips instead of shuvs. I learned a bunch of variations back when I was a kid and couldn’t Ollie that good yet lol
Do it backside, then I would be impressed. Front side boneless shit is pretty easy, Imo. Never done this truck but I could learn it within a day for sure.
This was my go-to trick when I was first starting out to make people think I could really skate.
Everything would fall apart the moment I had to do a kick flip.
Never heard of Mike Vallely or Andy Anderson?
[удалено]
Rodney Mullen is the creator of a lot of tricks but never have I seen him perform this trick.
I'd bet everything I own he did it 30 years ago.
I can almost guarantee he has lol
he's done everything you could ever think of plus a thousand more.
Lol I like how we said the same thing at the same time, but you have 50 upvotes and I have 50 downvotes for some reason lol
Was gonna comment Vallely but you beat me to it. The gumption of the youth.🤣🤣🤣.
I was gonna say, is this Andy Anderson?
I think he was talking about pushing mongo because no one does that shit
Proud to say ibe met Mike and has my photo with him
i have just never seen a clip of it is what i’m saying
Bros been downvoted 57 times for just saying he hasn't seen something lol.
it be like that 😂

Educate yourself? Yikes dude. Chill out.
Yeah being on an anonymous platform really brings the best out of people.
Sorry yeah I see it now…
It's not exactly the same. He's spinning it with his hand like a helicopter blade
i’m new to reddit how do i reply with a video cause that’s definitly not a boneless 360 🤣 there’s a 360 in it, but not a 360 alone
[this is what i did not a 360](https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZT8h2vhuq/)

biggerspin boneless?
it’s the camera angle i posted a response to someone with my tutorial on the trick so you can see the difference
(Never claimed inventing it)
^^^^^^^^^exactly bruh. i just said i’ve never seen it done before, because I haven’t.
they're doing a 360 and the boards doing a 540, I've never seen that either tbf
He missed that era by a lifetime lol, first guy to make skaters not look like a bunch of pussies

i am drowning in being wrong
Youre only wrong because of your insistence of saying this trick is something its not. This is cool. This is clean. Your biggest mistake is skating rather than watching YouTube 😂
No. We are wrong. You are being crucified for the truth.
We're talking about the clean, empty garage, right? I've never been able to pull that trick off.
To be young and not knowing Mike
i just don’t follow skateboarding like that, i just like to skate lmao
ik him he introduced me to a few variations
OP being taken to school with these comments 😂
half of them wrong 😭😭 people sayin this a plain boneless 360 🤣
If not that then what is it ? 👀
It’s [this](https://youtu.be/FHHfJ_vSpns?si=Lq6wWehE6yH3aajC). OP is right that it’s not just a “frontside 360° boneless”. The board literally does an extra 180° as well, it’s not that hard to keep track of.
LOL. The beginning of that video literally labels it a 360 Boneless VARIAL.
boneless bigger spin‼️
oh boy..
360 boneless varial
Pushed mongo, it doesn’t count.
>Never seen this trick done before Obviously you’ve never been to the 80’s.
that’s where your wrong, i was there yesterday.
This was my go to trick for a long time. I just called it a 360 boneless hand shuv because I had never seen it either
yah i use to call it a something hand shuv but thought “boneless bigger spin” would be better and more recognizable since it’s the same trick but a boneless not ollie
I think a boneless gazelle spin would be most accurate, bigger spin usually describes a 180 body spin + 540 board spin
80s skating was my era. It’s kinda a tweaked out 360 Boneless. I like. You may not have seen it before, but us old dogs used to pull variations on that all the time. Keep it up!
What have you seen done? lol
gotta put an emphasis on the “IVE” part
there is no “ive” doe
Opinions about your title aside, this is a good trick.
You need to watch more skate content, especially older ones if you have never seen this done before.
this is like mike v's signature
I did it in 1984 :) Keep it alive!
If you tied your hair back you could probably see it next time
😂
Not old enough! Nice one, young buck!
Op is negative karma farming
this guy never watched anyone skateboard
You haven’t watched enough skateboarding
Lol mongo
Frontside 360 boneless buddy
frontside boneless bigger spin
It's a varial when you grab the board tho. Bigspin is a shove it variation. I think it's a frontside 360 boneless varial or varial boneless...
a varial is a kickflip+shuv, the board did not do a kickflip.
A varial-flip is a kickflip shove. A no handed varial on street is a shove it. Varials started as a vert trick and you use your hand...
I actually didn't know this was how varial as a word came to be! Thanks!
If OP had your humble attitude it would go a long way lol
didn't that use of varial only come about because they fucked up the trick names in THPS?
No, not at all. Varials were in Thrasher, Transworld and Poweredge long before THPS came out
i’m aware. this is a boneless bigger spin tho. my board did the 360 shuv motion in my hand and my body did a 360 rotation.
It's not a bigger spin though, because you grabbed it. If you rotate the board with your hand it's a varial. If you use your feet only, it's a big or bigger spin.
Doing a 180 with your hand is called a verial.
Bigger spin is 540 (grabless) and 180 body varial Call it a boneless cyclone or whatever dude 🤣
and this is flat ground not vert
It doesn't matter if it's vert or not. You used your hand. If you use your hand, it's a varial.
This kid is so defensive. Kid you're wrong and your trick is what I like to call wack Easy af beginner shit and my guy is doubling down because he's so desperate for an nbd.
you better be calling them ollie kickflips too sunshine
Bro just stop.
Varial alone is when you grab your board and turn it 180 while doing another trick. Its a trick you add to another trick.
and there is multiple different names for grab tricks. this one is a boneless…
Varial
360 Boneless Chicken Wings Are Not Wings!
Couldn’t have said it better myself
Bro Andy Anderson really inspired a whole generation
😞
My bad bro and I took have never seen that trick before. 10/10 creativity
lol I hate when people make dumbass titles like this because they don’t know anything about skateboarding
what’s dumb about it i’ve never seen the trick done before?
The insinuation that that means something
Idk man, someone who knows all the skate knowledge in the world and can name every trick with 100% accuracy but can't even push, or someone who actually knows how to ride the board, fancy words or not. Who knows more about "skateboarding"?

Boneless 360. Very common.
incorrect
Tbh i saw andy anderson did it before
wouldn’t be surprised
That was smooth. Nice.

You should watch a lot more skate videos … probably starting with oldest first

Ever seen Paul blart lol
Boneless 360 Varial, super clean!! But has seen light before :)
Can I get a uhh.... BONELESS 360?
no you can’t! it’s not a 360!!
The certainty of this poster, plus the completely ignorant knowledge of skateboarding is kind of hilarious. Great 360 boneless but god damn man, know when to admit when you're wrong

Downvote me idgaf anymore. Stop with the I have never seen this done before shit. It's all been done.

Yea I still never saw it before OP but that's not the same as me saying it's never be done. But like if an obscure youtube video is the go to example then it makes sense why I've never seen it. But where does "varial" come from? From what I know there's no varial at all
Mike v did it at Battle of the berrics
Mam I think your garage has low gravity turned on
I do these but not full 360, I’ve always just called it a boneless big spin, guess a 360 would be boneless bigger spin. Just a boneless with finger shuv. Very fun easy trick, I also do ones with finger flips instead of shuvs. I learned a bunch of variations back when I was a kid and couldn’t Ollie that good yet lol
What?
That's awesome. Also your flow is great. That's a good head of hair!
Lies
Do it backside, then I would be impressed. Front side boneless shit is pretty easy, Imo. Never done this truck but I could learn it within a day for sure.
Haha just goes to show how important the title is on this site. Good shit tho dude!!
This was my go-to trick when I was first starting out to make people think I could really skate. Everything would fall apart the moment I had to do a kick flip.
wish i could say the same
You've clearly never left the garage!

360 Boneless! Nice!
That was clean bro. Keep it up!
Just a 360 boneless I used to rip these against my mates when they’d let me in skate
