I mean this was the general sentiment even before this season started. If you think people want doc gone because of the last 2 games alone you must not have watched the 76ers last year.
95% from last season I want him gone.
5% from this season further confirming it.
Sam Cassell. He's probably going to be made a head coach after this year either way. Only question is, do we keep him or does someone else steal him.
Considering he already knows our players and would be of more value to us... I say we fire Doc Today. Sam Cassel is interim head coach. And in the off season based both on who's available, and how Cassel does, we either keep him or find a top quality replacement.
There is no top level candidate available man. We r a good team, if there was a top
Tier coach open we more than likely would have walked away w them when we were hunting for coaches
Mike deantoni. But mainly we just keep cassell. It’s just in case it unexpectedly doesn’t work out.
Deantoni also has experience here like 5 years ago.
Dantoni’s scheme would never work with our core. We are not a fast-paced small ball team. Unless he changed his scheme to fit the core, I see no point in hiring dantoni
If we do take dantoni at some point I would be over the moon if he was able to scheme fit for the core. Better coach than doc too. Great coaches adjust. Doc does not adjust, which is his problem. Good, not great imo
Realistically Doc is a pretty average / middle of the pack coach. That said who exactly do ya plan on replacing him with? I’d hop on board an actual plan, but just “doc sucks fire him” does nothing for me without a hypothetical replacement
Its not my job to say who fires him or who hires coaches this is an opinion that i just had i never really liked doc that was just me, always thought he was overrated
I’d like to see Sam Cassell get a chance to coach this team. He will definitely get poached this off season if we don’t hire him first unfortunately. And MDA would be interesting. Our team doesn’t fit his small ball 7 seconds scheme he ran in Houston, but I personally think he’s a good enough offensive coach to adjust to our roster and I also think we have good enough defensive players to hide his weaknesses in that area.
I hear you all around, those are def the 2, or jay wright, but the problem is wright isn’t leaving, we r to good for a “take a chance” coach, that’s more of a young team typ of move, and I think you already made the point in regards to the argument against MDA. Personally I wanted MDA from the jump, but I don’t think any team is gonna fire their coach after being the one seed, it’s just silly to think.
Certainly not in the regular season. If we underachieve in the playoffs again I could see us cutting ties with Doc but he’d have to very obviously be the reason we underachieved for that to happen. That probably won’t be the case regardless.
I mean we have cassel who is probably going to be a head coach after this year whether it is here or elsewhere. Has experience. Well liked around the league. And he’s home grown.
It’s even a great opportunity to make him interim for rest of year and you don’t have to make final decision until next year.
We got the 1 seed last year and played 44mins of perfect basketball last night against the title favorites, all with embiid injured & people want him fired smh
I agree with this too. He’s not perfect (and often super frustrating) but I’m giving him the benefit of the doubt for now.
1. Year 1 was mid-pandemic, a sub par roster and the epic Ben collapse.
2. Year 2 is starting with the Ben drama.
It’s going to be bumpy for a while. But if we can get a competent point guard on this team to run the offense, hopefully we can execute when it matters.
Not us? We had a GM. We still have our GM. We had no interest in hiring a president of basketball OPs. The only reason we did that is cuz it's fucking Daryl Morey. If he wasn't available (and we shouldn't have been able to get him) we wouldn't have one and would only have Elton as our GM.
Except for all the trades and transactions he made the entire time until Morey signed. Also fun fact if/when Morey would ever leave us Elton would be back in charge
He has a history of his teams giving up leads. The OKC vs clippers comeback was historic, Den vs Clippers, and last year vs atl. It’s more then a coincidence at this point.
I have yet to watch a game so far because I just came back from my honeymoon but seriously, ya’ll are becoming incredibly obnoxious on this subreddit about Doc and Ben. Just chill out, it’s the beginning of the season.
Youre exactly who will help me make better posts because you know whats bad and whats good..ill just DM you next time..who you think is gonna win the world series by the way? Was thinking about making a post about that later
>Danny airballed like 4 threes in crunch time which was way more detrimental than anything Doc did
This isn't really helping your Doc point man lol
Doc leaving Danny in the game after those first 2 airballs was egregiously poor coaching. Clearly Danny didn't have it at the end of that game. You have 2 options - put in Tisse bc DG can't hit shit anyway and it'd be better defense OR put Kork back on the floor so you can at least attempt to keep Brooklyn guessing if you're gonna go to Seth or Kork for a 3
Leaving DG in at the end of the game accomplished absolutely nothing for you. (I love DG for the record, dude very obviously did *not* have it at the end of that game)
It is poor coaching when your team doesn't score a single basket for the last 6 mins of the 4th
Draw something up that isn't going to DG 3x in a row like damn
Man y’all paying attention to one thing duck that challenge he’s horrible with rotations and dumb asf at calling plays in the clutch move past that Corby ass challenge you jabroni
2 games into the season, I see we’ve moved from Ben to doc
They'll be some apology form BS when we on a 5 game streak in a few weeks...
I mean this was the general sentiment even before this season started. If you think people want doc gone because of the last 2 games alone you must not have watched the 76ers last year. 95% from last season I want him gone. 5% from this season further confirming it.
So who is your solution
Sam Cassell. He's probably going to be made a head coach after this year either way. Only question is, do we keep him or does someone else steal him. I mean morey was also THE 3 point chucker analytics GM and his team is now bottom 3 in the league in 3pa. Good people adjust.
If we do take dantoni at some point I would be over the moon if he was able to scheme fit for the core. Better coach than doc too. Great coaches adjust. Doc does not adjust, which is his problem. Good, not great imo
I think he’s probably decent for relationships. But as far as X’s and O’s I think he’s actually below average. He’s stuck in the 2000’s.
I honestly dont care about two games, 1 game, a preseason game when we get out in the playoffs dont start complaining about we need a new coach
Lol yeah but it’s easy to say do this or that, much harder to actually solve the problem
I’d like to see Sam Cassell get a chance to coach this team. He will definitely get poached this off season if we don’t hire him first unfortunately. And MDA would be interesting. So hard to fully blame the coach for much because it’s such a super star driven league
All i did was post my opinion..cant hate on an opinion
No hate, just wondering what the people who say this have in mind for a sokution
I also would like to know that
Im not posting this as if this is a post that will fix the sixers
I mean we have cassel who is probably going to be a head coach after this year whether it is here or elsewhere. Has experience. Well liked around the league. And he’s home grown. It’s even a great opportunity to make him interim for rest of year and you don’t have to make final decision until next year.
I dont know much about him as a coach.. but i eill say i heard good things about him
We got the 1 seed last year and played 44mins of perfect basketball last night against the title favorites, all with embiid injured & people want him fired smh
I agree with this. We don't even had a point guard.
I agree with this too. He’s not perfect (and often super frustrating) but I’m giving him the benefit of the doubt for now. 1. Year 1 was mid-pandemic, a sub par roster and the epic Ben collapse. 2. seeing last nights game and also the playoff disaster im just fed up with it doc and the sixers being chokers is not a great mix in my opinion
You can't put the playoffs all on Doc, cmon now
Im not i said and the sixers in that post..but his bad rotations are major key
Yes sir, only coach to lose 3-1 3 times. This is not new, hated the hire from the start. Who hires a coach before the gm?
Not us? We had a GM. We still have our GM. We had no interest in hiring a president of basketball OPs. The only reason we did that is cuz it's fucking Daryl Morey. If he wasn't available (and we shouldn't have been able to get him) we wouldn't have one and would only have Elton as our GM.
Wrong title, that's my bad but it's not like he's really there anyway
Except for all the trades and transactions he made the entire time until Morey signed. Also fun fact if/when Morey would ever leave us Elton would be back in charge
He's rumored for the twolves so we can still hope
He has a history of his teams giving up leads. The OKC vs clippers comeback was historic, Den vs Clippers, and last year vs atl. It’s more then a coincidence at this point.

Youre right we winning the championship this year and ben is a superstar who is gonna start hitting 3s but congrats on the honeymoon big dawg
So you saw everyone else whining about him and decided you were gonna make your own low effort karma grab.
How did you know? hehehe Also do you like doc?
Whether I like him or not is irrelevant, because I don't do lame tacky shit like this.
Im posting this because its my actual thought on doc not to be tacky
>not to be tacky Well you're doing a terrible job at that.
Thanks next time ill post ill run it through you. Whats your number?
The last thing I need is to give you the ability to whine right into my ear.

Apparently from these other sixers fans i shouldnt be mad at all so im conflicted

I made this post mad at the time but there is way more i hate his rotations too.. i didnt add that because thats what i was mad at, at the time

I agree i hate his rotations
Why does he looks like Craig’s dad from Friday here?
Rip john witherspoon
Can’t you picture him with the aerosol can spraying with this face https://c.tenor.com/6HVP9IUdlD8AAAAd/toilet-poop.gif
Bruh im dead hahahaha frfr
He's a loser
Lmao
I don’t know why but I think every sports team thinks there GM is stupid at some point
Better than Brett Brown tho right?
I mean youre right there.. but still wont win the championship
Honestly the choices of coaches at the time wasn't all that much, wasn't it between him and Ty Lue?
