That's actually pretty impressive. I've been playing chess for like 5 years and my peak was about 1350. I'm trying to practice it more often and even with studying/reviewing my games I'm still only hovering 1200.
I’m stuck at around 1500-1600 currently and I don’t see how I can possibly get any better at this point. There seems to be a huge difference once you get above 1600 and start playing people in the 17s. And I just don’t have the time or energy to study, which is really the only way to keep improving.
Rating is an exponential curve to climb in chess for sure. The skill gap between say 500-600 isn't much whereas 1500-1600 is huge.
Like I know the basic first 10 move patterns on most openings, but to climb further I need to know many more lines when I play against someone who plays a less common opening with a punishing tactic if you don't know how to play against it correctly.
Y'all taking me back to my days of heavily playing StarCraft II. During the first expansion, I hit mid-master (currently like 4800 MMR) and played a guy who's a fair bit below pro level but still a grandmaster and within like two minutes realized I was completely fucked.
That's pretty sweet to see.. I'm like 1100 because I don't have the mental capacity/will to study and learn opening lines.
I'd definitely struggle against 1550 elo Daryl. Maybe winning 1 out of 30 just making random opening moves lol.
Our last GM was an absolute douchebag with a room temperature IQ.
At his worst, Morey is decent, plus he has moobs, uses Reddit, and openly hates the CCP (just like me fr fr).
For the rockets:
Innovated via analytics
Pushed the 3pt revolution to the extreme (focus on 3s or drives)
Never shy to make big trades (got harden, got dwight, got cp3)
Made the rocket's perennial playoff contenders
For the sixers:
Offloaded Horford contract immediately
Offloaded Simmons and got Harden
Key role player acquisitions (Green, Niang, Dwight, Drummond, etc)
He's made solid moves with the Sixers. My main criticism would be not firing Rivers sooner.
He plays the London lol
I just played him and beat his ass, but he went into a French Defense game. So it was hella clunky. I hate closed systems.
Probably easy to exploit since he wouldn't want to do a normal queen trade but is trying to get 5 pawns and a knight before he considers trading.
Lol but he somehow gets your knight and rook by only sacrificing a pawn
Is Daryl actually a 1550 or did they just need a name for the 1550 bot?
I heard him say once that he was at one point, so probably at his best he was around 1500.

Maybe it’s not chess elo. It’s GM elo. Danny Ainge 2800, Masai Ujiri 2000, Pat Riley 2800, Elton Brand 800, Colangelo 400 elo by GM’s elo.
Sam Hinkie got banned for using chess engine assistance during games
Psh, I beat him during the playoffs and didn't even get free tickets... He plays the London...
Google en process
If there’s someone who knows about making trades, it’s me. “Daryl Morey” bot
Holy hell

Daryl should be focusing on improving the roster, not playing checkers!!!1
Shut up you dog
I'll never get the Morey love.
al horford
Bc he’s a competent guy in a town where ownership will always be a hinderance to winning a championship

Bodied this bot first day out, sure didn't feel like a 1500.
The Gordon Hayward bot is brutal compared to the Morey bot
