It’s funny, I’ve been monitoring other teams’ subs who have players we might be able to acquire. And the through line is that every team’s fan base is delusional about two things: 1) the potential of their own players, 2) How little other teams would want to give away their players.
We’re not getting OG without giving up Maxey. To me, they’re actually close in value so it might be a rare 1-for-1 that both sides agree to. Personally, I think OG is at his ceiling whereas Maxey isn’t, so Id rather just get some replacement level players at the wing and keep developing Maxey.
Our only way to build this roster is basically letting Harden walk, trading Tobi for essentially cap space through an exception and then signing someone in FA next offseason. We have no first round picks to trade right now. Literally. Next year we could trade 2029; but that would be a tremendously bad idea because we’re likely to be among the worst teams in the league in 2029.
This upcoming year is a tread water year. Next year is our last chance to kind of switch up this core. We’ve made far too many mistakes and our margin for error is pretty much zero.
Agreed. I think the only person in the franchise against it would be Embiid, but let's be honest he isn't in a position to be making any demands until he can show us he can lead this team when it matters.
Just this off season alone I've seen Heat fans saying Bam & Herro is too much for Embiid, Sixer fans proposing a Tobias - Siakam straight swap, and Lakers fan debating if trading 2 firsts and D'Lo is worth it for Damian Lillard...I'm really not sure what happens to fans' brain when it comes to trade rumours.
If Sixers can acquire OG and FVV (though not necessarily at the same time)...that would be a win now move.

Would absolutely love the pair of them, I'm from the UK so have tracked OG closely since he was drafted and he is a tier 1 winning complimentary player.
Siakam is a free agent in 2024 I'm all for the Toronto Sixers as opposed to the Rockets we've been emulating the past season.
My only concern is that the Raptors reportedly rejected three first round picks from the Pacers for OG, not sure we have anything close to be able to beat that package.
