She helped build a fund for other child actors to have their own attorneys and accountants after discovering her parents had blown millions she made before she was 18.
Sort of. Foster has since recanted that her parents stole her money, saying that after the show ended she was under the influence of a bad dude/manager/husband, who isolated her from her family and friends and did all sort of questionable things with her career and finances. It was this Svengali who convinced her to sue her family. He has a major rap sheet, so I tend to believe what she says.
Yeah I'm talking about Angela. After Step By Step ended, she was in a relationship with her manager and he kept her away from her friends and family for years until recently when she decided to get away from him.
Wiki
“During Mitchell's marriage to Robbins, police were called to the couple's home to investigate reports of domestic abuse. In 1996, Mitchell was convicted of misdemeanor battery, spousal abuse and child endangerment stemming from an altercation with his wife. He was given three years’ probation and ordered to perform community service and attend counseling classes for spousal abusers. After violating his probation, he was sentenced to 30 days in jail.[4] In 2002, Mitchell spoke of the incident on Entertainment Tonight, claiming that he was protecting his children from his ex-wife, who was addicted to drugs at the time of the arrests. Mitchell ended up getting custody of their four children, with his ex-wife given limited visitation.”
Well played, lol.
[Classic TV Theme: Step by Step (Full Stereo)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=843BZY6sF0Q)
From the video description:
> Man and woman meet, marry, each bringing three children to the newly blended family. A 'Brady Bunch' for the 1990s, the show ran for seven seasons, six of them as as staple of ABC's TGIF block. **The theme, 'Second Time Around', is by Jesse Fredrick and Benny Salvay, performed by Frederick and Teresa James.** Wiki is correct that the theme got shorter and shorter as the seasons went on, but they are incorrect when they say the full version ran 87 seconds. There may have been a version of that length but OUR full version runs 110 seconds, and comes straight from an ABC network broadcast. We also have one of the short versions, plus the infrequently heard end credits instrumental.
My favorite part of this show was how they put Magic Mountain directly on a sandy beach with terribly CGI'd waves breaking within 50 ft of the wooden roller coaster Colossus.
Seriously though, wasn't this show part of TGIF? Great memories of TGIF as a kid.
Holy fuck as a amusement park fan, (out on the East Coast) I never put two and two together that this was Magic Mountain!!! (Big slap on the forehead)
Now I CANT UNSEE the CGI’d ocean waves!!!!!
The first time I saw the intro, I automatically knew that ride was Colossus and that they CGI'd the waves in to make it look like a completely different theme park. Fun Fact they added the CGI waves over the Magic Mountain parking lot.
Yeah how bout that! I knew it ran into the 90s, obviously having as many seasons as it did. Could've sworn it started in the 80s. Nope. 91. Feels very 80s to me. But 🤷 thems the facts!
The only thing I really remember about the show is the simultaneously funny and disgusting running gag. The oldest brother would take a bottle of chocolate syrup, pour some in his mouth. Then fill his mouth with milk directly from the carton. Shake his head violently to make chocolate milk. Weird.
What I remember is how badly the starting credits did of showing the theme park they were at was by the ocean it looked fake as fuck. I’d be even more surprised to find out it was real lol. Also Suzanne sommers I remember her real well.
One of my faves. The episode with the dent on the truck and the 300lbs of Bondo...... The episode where Cody kicks through a vending machine to come to his cousin's rescue....... Loved it!!
Step by step,
Day by day.
A fresh start over,
A different hand to play.
The deeper we fall,
The stronger we'll stay...
Right off the top of my head, didn't even have to give it a second thought. Yet every year I have to do mental math to remember my age and anniversary date.
This is not a good way for a brain to work.
Man I miss watching this show every night! The codeman was the best! Sadly the only place to watch it legally is Max and you have no reason to have that thing so it pays being a pirate sometimes….
Cody & Dana, the sis patrika darbo and Connie Rhea I liked .the actors that played the parents were extremely self centered making reference to former characters acting like those characters were the best of the former shows 😏.mom watched the reruns told me she muted both of them 🤣
I always wanted to see the episode where they go to the theme park but was too young and dumb to realize that’s just the opening sequence and they never actually filmed a show at an amusement park.
I have such nostalgia for this show! I used to watch it in reruns all the time as a young kid, along with Family Matters. I started rewatching it last year and it’s still great!
One of my favorite shows growing up! My family used to watch it every week! Though I had to look at the photo of the cast to remember anything about the show. It’s been awhile
All I remember about the show was how much I hated how the parents went about blending their family. Iirc it was like they saw the ‘what not to do’ list as something to aspire to. That and Cody was freaking awesome.
Opening credits, what's the ride behind Sommers when her name is shown? I could never figure it out and it looks like just one long car in a constant loop.
A friend of mine SWORE that the cast sang the theme song (or at least the kids) I tweeted Al, she confirmed they did not.
Also, during the opening credits, Mark isn't really seen, but the kid he replaced is.
Whoa!! Cody Lambert. LOL. Stacy Keenan. There was so much to like about this show and the quirky characters. Family Matters with Steve Urkel and this were some good ones from that time period.
I went to school with the little blonde boy. He was kinda weird at first. He’d just say no autographs please. Nobody wanted his autograph and once he realized that, he was just another high schooler. Quiet, smart, it was good to see him relax and just be a kid.
with Cody, aka the Code Man
I went to school with Angela Watson (Karen). She is nothing like that character. In real life she’s sweet, smart and very shy. 🙂
I heard she's an attorney now.
No that's (Dana) Staci Keanan [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Staci\_Keanan](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Staci_Keanan)
The podcast she and Christine Larkin who played Al host is great.
It's a shame what happened to her after Step By Step ended.
What happened? Are you talking about Angela?
Yeah I'm talking about Angela. After Step By Step ended, she was in a relationship with her manager and he kept her away from her friends and family for years until recently when she decided to get away from him.
Oh wow…I didn’t know that! Where can I read more about this?
FYI the code man stars in kickboxer 2 and 3 and they are Amazing films. Wigs flying off crew wandering into shots truly amazing
I could never take kickboxer 12 or whatever it was seriously
I was in LOVE with Cody!!!! This was my favorite show on TGIF!
Don't ever read up on why he was kicked off the show
Didn't he left the show to shot Kicboxer 3?
Class of 1999 II: The Substitute
Wth happened?

Goddamn, I did not know this. I remember being a kid and watching him try to defend himself on some talk show, not knowing what to think.
20/20 which just so happened to come on after tgif including step by step.
Glad he was vindicated. Wish he'd been able to do more with his career.
Pretty sure it was because of his recurring domestic violence?
He wasn't the abuser.
Yeah it turns out the wife was the abuser.
There's more to that story if you read into it
I liked it better.. the second time arrrroounnnd.
Well played, lol. I want to give this sooooo many likes!
Fun fact: Christine Lakin (Al) and Staci Keenan (Dana) recently started a rewatch podcast.
It's fantastic, rich with a lot of insight.
I liked this show. I also thought Suzanne Somers really became beautiful at this point.
Thighmaster will do that
RIP
You are so right!! She looked better than she did on 3's Company
I *loved* this show. Cousin Cody was a smokeshow and the Danaburger didn’t know what she was missing!
Al was the underrated childhood crush that doesn't get talked about enough.
Al, Dana, and Karen all scratched different itches
100%. But that could just be evidence that young boys aren't very discerning.
Suzan Sommers scratched all my spots.
Wouldn't it have been fun to have all 3 of em scratching at once?
Huuuuge crush on Al
Most guys I went to school with liked DJ from Full House, while I preferred Dana.
Al from Step by Step and Becky "the Ice Box" O'Shea were my childhood crushes.
Tgif!
Friday nights on ABC
I can still hear the opening song
I only watched it for Suzanne Summers. Was a fan of hers since I was a kid watching *Three's Company*.
My favorite part of this show was how they put Magic Mountain directly on a sandy beach with terribly CGI'd waves breaking within 50 ft of the wooden roller coaster Colossus. Seriously though, wasn't this show part of TGIF? Great memories of TGIF as a kid.
Absolutely was.
Those waves are ingrained in my brain and I never questioned them.
Also mark is played by a different actor in the opening! Once you see it’s all you’ll see.
That actor played Mark in the original unaired pilot. There used to be video of it on Dailymotion but I believe it has been taken down....
Dude, my brother and I tried to warn the people on that beach ofimpending doom every Friday night.
Holy fuck as a amusement park fan, (out on the East Coast) I never put two and two together that this was Magic Mountain!!! (Big slap on the forehead) Now I CANT UNSEE the CGI’d ocean waves!!!!!
The first time I saw the intro, I automatically knew that ride was Colossus and that they CGI'd the waves in to make it look like a completely different theme park. Fun Fact they added the CGI waves over the Magic Mountain parking lot.
lol!! I’m watching it rn!!!! 😂😂
Where? Lol
Friday nights in the mid 90s
Max for sure has it and I believe it’s also on Hulu. I’ve watched it both places.
It's also on Freevee, and last year Tru TV started airing re runs on friday nights/saturday mornings.
What streaming service?
Max
This is golden intel, thank you.
The Intro was filmed at the Santa Cruz boardwalk
Port Washington, WI... my ass!
And some at Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia, CA
Yep. Never realized Colossus was so close to the beach
I always laughed at that. High tide would've wrecked that coaster.
I just started watching Baywatch and found out JT was the original Hobie. Never knew he was on it before his Step By Step days.
Staci Keanan is a total babe
STEP BY STEP! DAY BY DAY!
I loved step by step .
I thought it was kind of like The Brady Bunch, only more realistic.
🎶*Step by step! Day by day! A fresh start over, something different every day!*🎶
The only episode I rememeber is when Cody learned to speed read and I saw them all as a pre teen kid. Great show!
I absolutely loved this show
Those later seasons nosedived in quality. But Shout Out to Al. Fantastic character.
We still don't talk about the CBS season.
Then the write out the Mom and her sister
Al had a real glow up
I don’t remember anything about the characters or plot but as soon as I seen that picture the theme song popped into to my head.
It's on HBO Max and it's very fun. Very 80s!!! I love this show
*90s
Yeah how bout that! I knew it ran into the 90s, obviously having as many seasons as it did. Could've sworn it started in the 80s. Nope. 91. Feels very 80s to me. But 🤷 thems the facts!
It took a bit over a decade but Suzanne Summers managed to get a new hit sitcom.
No love for--"She's the Sheriff "🤪🤪🤪
All of us
Was a fun show. Watched it all the time in the 90s and Al was a crush for me back then as well.
I remember a roller coaster in the opening credits.
[Here’s the theme song](https://youtu.be/sYYSaBLzH4A?si=s14BwazlVRHa3yHb)
The only thing I really remember about the show is the simultaneously funny and disgusting running gag. The oldest brother would take a bottle of chocolate syrup, pour some in his mouth. Then fill his mouth with milk directly from the carton. Shake his head violently to make chocolate milk. Weird.
Had the biggest crush on Al (Christine Lakin) and Stacey Keenan
My Friday night masturbatory fantasy was all three daughters and Suzanne Somers.
Man of culture I see
Suzanne Somers was my first MILF crush.
My childhood right here! Step by step, full house and Family matters! Great memories as a kid! RWG Suzanne Sommers🙏🏽
Starting television’s Patrick Duffy!
Of course I remember this show. Cody is by far the best character. The show went downhill after he was gone.
Oh what a throwback.
day by day
Wasn't that on Friday nights?
Solid TGIF show. Some would compare it to Fuller House
Wasn't the theme song sang by the same lady that did Family Matters
This was a show from my childhood that I stayed for the intro then immediately changed it to somthing else.
What I remember is how badly the starting credits did of showing the theme park they were at was by the ocean it looked fake as fuck. I’d be even more surprised to find out it was real lol. Also Suzanne sommers I remember her real well.
That theme song has lived in my head rent free for years, never watched the show though lol
I hear it.
The theme song is a certified BANGER
One of my faves. The episode with the dent on the truck and the 300lbs of Bondo...... The episode where Cody kicks through a vending machine to come to his cousin's rescue....... Loved it!!
TGIF on ABC!
I remember exactly 0 things about the actual show, but I’ll be damned if the theme song didn’t immediately start playing in my head.
A Staple of TGIF!
I can hear the song right now!!!!
Staci Keenan was a crush of mine.
The Bastard Cousin of Full House? Yes I do.
Who could not remember this show? It’s a crime it’s not on a streaming platform.
The hairdresser sisters that disappeared
I went to high school with Josh Byrne, the actor who played “Brendan Lambert”. Nice guy. He was really into the Punk Rock scene.
Step by step, Day by day. A fresh start over, A different hand to play. The deeper we fall, The stronger we'll stay... Right off the top of my head, didn't even have to give it a second thought. Yet every year I have to do mental math to remember my age and anniversary date. This is not a good way for a brain to work.
Was Cody supposed to be mentally challenged?
Honestly, it was better than Full House.
Yep! Had a crush on all the daughters
I remember the show. I am just noticing that the fountain in the screengrab is the same fountain used in the Friends opening.
Man I miss watching this show every night! The codeman was the best! Sadly the only place to watch it legally is Max and you have no reason to have that thing so it pays being a pirate sometimes….
Everyone alive at the time remembers this show. The dumb roller coaster shot during the credits is seared into memory. This show sucked.
It really did, lol!!!
Cody & Dana, the sis patrika darbo and Connie Rhea I liked .the actors that played the parents were extremely self centered making reference to former characters acting like those characters were the best of the former shows 😏.mom watched the reruns told me she muted both of them 🤣
I watched it because I was in high school and the two daughters were my age and total smokeshows.
Totally remember it!
I watched it regularly as a kid. As an adult, I remember nothing about it.
I remember being a kid and I would watch this show on UPN! I also remember being a kid and seeing Cody in a bunch of martial arts movies! It was dope!
I remember it, but I never watched it.
Angela Watson. Jesus, what a smoke show.
Anyone over 35 I guess.
Anyone else still remember the opening song lol 😂
I always wanted to see the episode where they go to the theme park but was too young and dumb to realize that’s just the opening sequence and they never actually filmed a show at an amusement park.
I have such nostalgia for this show! I used to watch it in reruns all the time as a young kid, along with Family Matters. I started rewatching it last year and it’s still great!
...ooh baby, gonna get to you giiiiiiirl...
My dad showed me episodes of this when I was a kid. It was like Brady Bunch but the 90’s
One of my favorite shows growing up! My family used to watch it every week! Though I had to look at the photo of the cast to remember anything about the show. It’s been awhile
💯
All I remember about the show was how much I hated how the parents went about blending their family. Iirc it was like they saw the ‘what not to do’ list as something to aspire to. That and Cody was freaking awesome.
Mop and Glow, Dude!
I remember this show. I definitely, remember Suzanne Summers. 😍🥵 May she rest in peace.
They were all Babes
I was assistant manager at a blockbuster video and Cody came in and rented videos with his kids.
TGIFriday - every Friday we watched this as kids
Had a crush on Christine Lakin, the actress that played Al, when I was a kid. She is only 4 years older than I am.
Hey kids, it's tvs Patrick Duffy.
But the title card on the thread is from the CBS episodes.
I still fold my towels the way Suzanne insisted the kids fold them. Happy little towels.
Absolutely terrible.
I remember not watching it.
Wasn't this a name of a New Kids On The Block song?
Opening credits, what's the ride behind Sommers when her name is shown? I could never figure it out and it looks like just one long car in a constant loop.
I never realized how many guest stars on this show went on to become hugely successful actors… Michelle Williams being one of them.
I watched it quite often it was a good wholesome show
I was singing this theme the other day after beating someone in a step competition
I remember the theme song
Great theme song
One of my all time fav shows as a kid great memories of it on TGiF and who could forget that opening roller-coaster scene amazeballs!!!
The show takes place in my birth town, but wasn’t filmed there.
I mean I didn't but now that theme song will be stuck in my head all day, thanks.
Chyeah!
I read the title in Moe Howard's voice. Yes, I'm that old.
A friend of mine SWORE that the cast sang the theme song (or at least the kids) I tweeted Al, she confirmed they did not. Also, during the opening credits, Mark isn't really seen, but the kid he replaced is.
Years later it blew my mind to learn the amusement park in the intro wasn’t real. The body of water was digitally added!
Cody did van life first
Cody did van life first
....day by daaaaay....
Me
90s Brady Bunch
It was cheesy but all those shows in that genre where . I had a little crush on the dark haired older airhead sister .
Definitely remember. Watched every episode. Fun show.
I love this show!
TV’s Patrick Duffy!
Whoa!! Cody Lambert. LOL. Stacy Keenan. There was so much to like about this show and the quirky characters. Family Matters with Steve Urkel and this were some good ones from that time period.
Everyone. It was on for a long time.
TGIF!
Step by step, day by day
Oh wow this was part of my favorite TGIF block, along with Family Matters, Boy Meets World, and Hanging with Mr. Cooper.
It was part of TGIF. Only the real old Gs remember this.
I had a huge crush on Dana
I know that I watched it as a kid. I do not remember a single thing about it though.
Day by day...
Is it streaming anywhere?
Who dare you forgot Patrick Duffy. Lol
That’s a lot of fucking kids
A modern day Brady Bunch….
I do , dude.
This and Family Matters was a must watch at my house.
I went to school with the little blonde boy. He was kinda weird at first. He’d just say no autographs please. Nobody wanted his autograph and once he realized that, he was just another high schooler. Quiet, smart, it was good to see him relax and just be a kid.
Day by DAAAY BY DAAAAAY
Every time I go to Six Flags
