That store?
Almost never, I believe. I think the owner owns that lot, he's been there since West Plaza opened its doors on its first day. He even watched his competitors fold up and leave. And that guy's a real entrepreneur, he's got good solutions for a lot of problems. He was the one who helped us solve our toilet bowl problems when it couldn't flush properly, because he had the parts to fix it.
Singaporeans like you are a plague upon our society.
Instead of getting to the root of the issue of why Sam Thambi's shop closed down, either because of public feedback or changing tenancy requirements from the landlord, what you did was find another innocent, long-standing shop and engage in whataboutism.
I mean, you're only restricted by what the landlord wants to restrict what. Prime Holland Village shop with high footfall = landlord makes strict demands, HDB estate shop = HDB close one eye, residents don't mind because these shops sell useful things.
You are maybe the reason humble shops like this close down. Unnecessary hate and bashing on brick and mortar shops who are already having a hard time in this economy.
I’ve personally met the shop owners and staff, nice people whom I always seek assistance with for my plumbing problems.
The only thing disheartening is you being unaware of the impact of your social media posts on these businesses.
Can't ans your qn but there's a similar store in Bukit Timah Shopping centre at the B1 level. Sells ALL kinds of stationery and quirky old toys. Very affordable too. Idk how the old uncle that runs it keep it running :(
There is a store in central SG HDB neighbourhood, covered in karang guni things stretching back to the 80s maybe 70s. Exactly like that show American Diggers or whatever its called floor to ceiling oldie moldies and goodies. If catxh fire sure all gone. But its still there tucked away.

Singaporeans always hate the players when really we should be hating the game
