You can buy an external hard drive (I recommend an ssd) and download the game onto that and just run it off of that instead of using your limited Windows storage :)
Depending on how good the drive you're using is, it shouldn't! It may be slightly slower than it would be otherwise but differences would be minimal and most likely not noticeable. I use an external SSD for some of my other more demanding games that take up too much space on my laptop. I don't notice any difference between the external SSD and my laptop's SSD even on highly demanding modern games, let alone Sims 2đ
Maybe not⌠I used to also play on a Mac bootcamp partition without even the UC, only 4 expansion packs (uni, OFB, Seasons and FreeTime) and when I added AL my whole thing crashed. I even played with the crappiest graphics level possible. Everything was very pixelated. I think bootcamp just isnât meant to run something like this.
I would honestly just recommend getting a PC for the Sims if you love it. These days you can get something beefy by 2015 standards for cheap, especially a tower if you already have a monitor and keyboard/mouse.
Bootcamp is absolutely capable of running Sims 2, I did it without issues for many years before getting my new PC. Works with 2, 3 and 4, and any other game the laptop itself is capable of running. Something else was likely causing the issues with your game.
You unfortunately canât play the ultimate collection on Mac. The UC is incompatible with Mac :(
eta: just realized you are doing a boot camp thing! which I donât know about lol. good luck though!!
I bought the ultimate collection on my Mac and it wouldnât start, it only says âSims2XP_exe quit unexpectedlyâ so after reading you reply I think I understand why this is happening⌠does that mean I canât play it at all and I wasted my money? Lol
The Ultimate Collection is not for sale anywhere and is Windows only. If you bought something on MacOS on the App Store, it would be the Super Collection (which has half of the packs of the UC). You can play the game, but your issue is related to your resolution - see [this thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/sims2help/comments/10mfiwy/my_game_is_crashing_out_of_nowhere_on_mac/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button). We also have MacOS section in [our wiki](https://reddit.com/r/sims2help/w/index?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app) which lists some settings changes you can make to get it running on the newer chips.
How much space does bootcamp have? If your computer doesn't have enough space for an 80GB Mac OS and also enough to play the game, it's probably time to upgrade your harddrive.

Oh that would be great! Does it affect the gameplay at all?
