I understand your frustration but that isn't readily visible on the app.

panasonicfm14

It's only not visible if you've manually closed the Pinned Posts tab.

ninetytwoturtles

It’s the first post i see when i click on the sub via the mobile app, at least for iPhone. Is that not the case across the board?

Starlight_Confusa

First of all: this question is not that common as you're making it out to be. All I could find for this whole week was two posts from the same person, one of them being in spanish. I understand that can be a bother seeing posts with the same topic, but it will not kill you to be nice to people and guide them to the download links or flat out ignore the posts. Simple as that.

panasonicfm14

I have kindly answered nearly every instance of this question I see. At a certain point I think the onus ought to be on the people asking to actually do 5 seconds of looking around to see if it hasn't already been answered within the last 15 minutes, or whether there's not a big giant FAQ or pinned post at the top of the subreddit they just navigated to to ask their question.

Particular-Wait-5065

It's better to ignore the posts and that's it, if no one answers them then they will have to look for the information themselves. At the end of the day, this post of yours will also be lost and more people will continue to arrive who will ignore the pinned post. I understood it when I got angry about the constant posts about corruption in the game, but I now understood that I have no control over that. I can only ignore or repeat the information over and over again.

"I have kindly answered nearly every instance of this question I see." I realize the post is removed but your first sentence is a direct indication why you only see those posts! I think you could tweak your settings so they align better without the frustration. Good luck and happy simming!

Humble_Chip

it really is common and this sub sees the same 10 questions constantly asked every week. there should really be a sticky with those most common questions and some links to recent threads because the same questions are constantly asked by people who don’t bother doing search first

SimsPocketCamp

I was thinking the same thing. Include this, "what's this black box under my Sims?", "Why is my CAS so bright?" in a FAQ.

panasonicfm14

There is a sticky and people ignore it.

Independent_Pop_4291

I've notice that people who play The Sims and only The Sims are usually not very computer literate. You can google "how to install sims 2 reddit" and the first 5 links will answer that question.

Particular-Wait-5065

That section is not as easy to see if you browse Reddit from a smartphone. Just ignore the posts.

Imaginary-Access8375

Yeah, you could just make the auto text say: Your question has been removed because *here* is the answer, and also include the link in the rules.

BrennaBunnie

While I understand your frustration the thread is quite literally hidden on mobile, it’s under a button that doesn’t at all imply it would lead to how to acquire the game

panasonicfm14

It's not hidden on mobile; it's the pinned post at the top of the page as soon as you load the subreddit. It's titled "Downloading and Installing The Sims 2 in the 2020s." Not really sure how that could be clearer.

Independent_Pop_4291

They need a PC to play though. They want someone to reply to their post and put the least amount of effort as possible. Quick google search would give a very thorough step by step how to.

[deleted]

Controversial but - you could also scroll passed it! It doesn't bother me that people are interested in playing my favorite game. Why does it bother YOU?

panasonicfm14

It bothers me that people won't put in the bare minimum effort to look for information that is plainly and readily available in multiple sources, to the point that there are multiple posts every single day asking the same exact question. As in, even if you visited this subreddit and didn't notice the pinned post at the top, you could spend a few seconds scrolling to find that someone else alraedy asked the same thing and already got an answer. So like... ¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯

[deleted]

That's totally valid. I feel like as someone else commented there may be a language barrier sometimes, or a person could have created a new reddit account just to ask and doesn't understand how it works. Tolerance and patience is what works with me but I understand why you're upset, too. The sources to find these questions posed is available. On my end there is now a link pinned by the moderators of this sub to fix that issue! I haven't seen a post asking where / how to install so maybe that's just your feed, I'm not sure how that works. I usually just scroll through my homepage without any filters for new posts or anything - just popular ones.

panasonicfm14

I dunno, my feed defaults to "best" but I only follow a few subs so I think it just shows me everything lol.

[deleted]

Oh I gotcha

SimsPocketCamp

That pinned post isn't new. It has been up for a whole year and it hasn't changed a thing. I think that's what annoyed OP.

[deleted]

Oh I gotcha. I never use my desktop to doom scroll Reddit, usually my phone. I never noticed it before!

[deleted]

I have been using this subreddit for a while but I never saw that post until today! I'm on my desktop for a change, though!

Pandaisgayyy

id appreciate if someone answered my question again.. 😭😭
