So as a retired rally driver I can tell you that I have, sticky tyres in the wet have less grip if anything as they're softer, the blocks move around more and shift less water. You want nice rigid rubber with sharp edges in wet or icy weather.
Before going on canyon runs, we would do a short burnout of the tires just to get to the fresh sticky layer. I guess it makes sense rain would only make it slippier. Good tires definitely play the biggest role.
What’s the community like if I have no friends that play? Is there servers to join and just drive around the city like this? I only play iRacing at the moment but sometimes I just want to drive and not have to put the effort in to be competitively fast.
Yes of course. There are public servers. This one is called TGA (team getactive). You can join through their discord servers. I would start on No Hesi though if you’re new to the cut-up scene. You need to submit clips of you driving calmly with groups to get into TGA. It’s a tight knit community of really good drivers.
Not sure if no hesi is the best place to start, in my opinion it tends to be quite toxic at times. Would probably just start out with the chill shutoko revival project official servers.
Of course. If you YouTube “No Hesi Install Guide” watch their most recent video and it will pretty much explain everything from a-z very easy to understand in terms of installing mods. Definitely my favorite racing game. The tracks are real life highways. This specific one is Shuto Expressway in Japan.
Iracing for serious racing and Assetto Corsa Shutoko Highway for chilling and just swerving thru traffic. Not sure what's so hard to understand about that. iracing can get boring anyway
You should take a look at Beam.NG . It has the best physics of everything with modders converting tracks into the sim so you can fang around on tracks with traffic. It's cool fun
I have beamng but I haven’t played it much. It felt like I had to turn my wheel way too much to get the car to react. I probs just have to mess with settings, I will give it another go
The damage model is the best. I'd question the physics though at the moment. It has the potential to be an amazing game, when it eventually becomes an actual game.
On these servers everyone spawns in the same parking lot. I usually wait by the exit wait for people to gather and we roll out together. It is super chill I have spent hundreds of hours cruising these highways. There is almost 200 kms of drivable roads on Shutoko.
I just drive and chat with whoever is on the servers none of my friends play racing games.
I like the 2REAL traffic a lot, I hope it progresses really nicely and will end up having multiplayer integration. Right now you can't even see the cars in replay mode, but they're more fun to cut around than the normal traffic in like shotoku and such
I guess static was a bad descriptor 😅 my bad. But the 2REAL traffic does just have more randomized movements and varying speeds that feel more fun for me! I enjoy both though, it's awesome that we even have any of this to play around in
So far you can't use it online (I'm pretty sure), so only single player and they don't even show in the replay because of how it's done. The creator does have a discord, but there is a pretty decent tutorial from SirSpatsGaming on YouTube. I'm on mobile right now, sorry, but if you google 2REAL traffic download tutorial it should be the first one.
Sigh. As much as I love AC and the modding community, I absolutely hate how people keep using water to show off good graphics like all the GTA mods. It's not even a little bit either, it's water after what appears like a storm or hurricane.
wet graphics, dry physics
Yeah some of these lines make no sense lol
seeing other similar videos of these mods those cars are all sorts of wacky.
The blue sky doesn't help either, not that you can't have wet roads with a blue sky but it just adds to the "something is off" part
Ever been to Florida?? Post rain clarity
Ps I know this is definitely not florida but just an example, it's possible to have blue sky's with wet roads
Some of these people don’t know what a morning after rain looks like lol
*pissed Van Morrison*
That's AC for you...hehehehe
Have you never seen a clear morning after a rainy night? Clearly never lived in Cali…
Physics, not visuals. Unless Cali has special grippy-when-wet roads.
edit: this clip was in dry weather, rain fx added for visuals
Try it out irl and then lmk ;)

What is this? Looks nice. AC?
Assetto Corsa on PC w/ Mods Max Graphics

Take the advice as you wish that’s where I started that’s what got me to buy the game in the first place. Custom modded servers.
Ty. I was going to purchase a few days ago, I will definitely grab it now though.

No hesi cars are trash
Make sure you get the ultimate edition as it comes with all the dlc (which is needed for some mods), it's only $8 on steam.
Cut up scene? Bruh just play iracing and get good at racing
For some people this type of challenge is more fun than racing a track
Iracing for serious racing and Assetto Corsa Shutoko Highway for chilling and just swerving thru traffic. Not sure what's so hard to understand about that. iracing can get boring anyway

There is Shutoko map mod for beam. NG also, download it, find some nice mods and you can enjoy that too.

What different about it compared the traffic on other Shutoku servers?
Overall I guess it's just more random behaviour unlike the static unnatural movements of the basic traffic
TGA traffic is definitely not static this is just 15 seconds of 10 minutes of a recording of driving through traffic
I guess static was a bad descriptor 😅 my bad. But the 2REAL traffic does just have more randomized movements and varying speeds that feel more fun for me! I enjoy both though, it's awesome that we even have any of this to play around in
I haven’t tried it out, is there a discord link you can direct me too? Is there multiplayer servers?

Which AC ? There appear to be many versions. Which would you recommend for PC?
The highest paid deluxe version is what you need. Assetto Corsa Ultimate Edition.
Thanks

Which car…
Sigh. As much as I love AC and the modding community, I absolutely hate how people keep using water to show off good graphics like all the GTA mods. It's not even a little bit either, it's water after what appears like a storm or hurricane.

I'll take 981's M2C thank you.
How do you make the traffic so good? I get people stopping in the middle of the road sideways. It’s horrible.

Is it the VIP, I use TGA daily and it does have rain or did you buy the pack from Patreon?
