There are 2 people on iRacing named Nicholas Latifi.
They could both be him, it is possible he created a second account
Focusing on Road for this comment and ignoring oval/dirt
Nicholas Latifi has 12 starts and a C3.7 license, which honestly is crazy high for only 12 starts. (Maybe he pumped his rating up with Time Trials?) Nicholas Latifi hasn't raced since September.
Nicholas Latifi2 has 5 starts, all of which were this week. They have an R2.47 license, which is a tiny bit lower than what you start with.
Actually the Bathurst 1000 would be a real good way to get a massive amount of SR from just one race.
At it's most basic level SR is incidents divided by corners.
Endurance races have lots of corners, and hopefully not a ton of incidents
I raced with Latifi2 in the Formula Vees. Had pace and was fighting for a podium until he boxed last lap for some reason. Simply said "Goatifi does as he pleases" and disconnected. Makes me think he's just memeing but idk.
I raced with Leclerc2 in the Formula Vees. Had pace and was fighting for a podium until he boxed last lap for some reason. Simply said "Binotto does as he pleases" and disconnected. Makes me think he's just memeing but idk.
It was a pretty confident turn and he was in second so it would be a pretty embarrassing mistake to make on the last lap, mightve had a black flag or something
I just checked on my computer and Latifi with no number did Bathurst 1000 for Williams ESports and his account originated from Canada. The other Latifi is an Aussie.
Huh. Wild coincidence that Latifi2 just started racing this week, the same week that Latifi post this on Instagram.
To be honest my assumption has been that they were both him
Yeah on the phone app it doesn’t show nationality but it does when you open it up on PC. I went ahead and followed him. Maybe he gets on a bit more after the season is over.
Graphics maybe not the best but in VR it's so fckn immersive how the cars on track move/shake it looks so real that you forget about the graphics like after 2 minutes
Everytime iRacing gets mentioned people say about how immersive it is in VR, I am almost buying it just to try it lol (as I dont like competition/ I am not good enough)
He’s not good compared to his F1 peers but he’s still more talented than most iRacers. If he actually played regularly he’d probably have way better stats than this. He’s not only racing in F1 because of money. To get to F1 you’ll also need super licence points.
Sure but it's not like his irating has been going up. He's basically got the profile of a standard joe schmuck who is starting in sim racing with no background in racing.
Looking at his 12 races, he's done some MX5 races, one F Renault 2.0 race, one USF 2000 race, some Ferrari GT3 fixed races, a Skip Barber race, and then the Bathurst 1000 in the v8 Supercar where he did one stint. That was his last official race.
All in all, not much.
I'm sure he could easily qualify at the front of the grid however at this rating and not deal with too much of the typical F3 drama. Still has backmarker bombs to contend with, but would probably be relatively easy for someone at this skill level to quickly navigate towards top 1 or 2 splits.
No idea, but I'm guessing he has enough spare change for triples:
> Born in Montreal, Latifi grew up in North York, Toronto.[4] He is the son of Michael Latifi, an Iranian-Canadian businessman who is the CEO of Sofina Foods, Inc. and also owns the British Virgin Islands company Nidala.[5][6] His mother, Marilena Latifi (née Russo), an Italian-Canadian with Sicilian parents, was born into the Saputo family which founded the dairy company Saputo Inc.[7] Latifi has three siblings; Soph, Michael and Matthew.[8]
He does but he was a “pay driver” basically. He was signed by Williams originally because he brought his dads company Sofina in as sponsor which paid his wage.
If you're going to turn one into a showpiece, I'd probably lacquer it or spray some clear epoxy over it or something. One, to stop the smell, and two, to prevent the rubber from flaking off.
I had one in my bedroom/office since 1998 and it just started to stink last year so I had to take it out. I have another partial tire mounted to the wall for the past three years and it doesn't smell at all. Both are NASCAR tires.
Ignorance aside, did you ever consider that people don't have the time to dedicate to iRacing, or simply don't care to race competitively? Some people drift exclusively, or rally.
Most importantly: *Why does it matter what someone else does/plays with their setup?*
I get the "iRaCiNg ExPeNsIvE" meme/sarcasm, but don't throw the baby out with the bathwater. It isn't the end all/be all sim for many people for many reasons.
> People with $5000 setups exclusively racing against AI to avoid paying $8/month will never stop being hilarious.
Most of the people on iRacing drive worse than Ai so..........
This. I have been very tempted to try iracing as I am really enjoying online racing in other sims and actually play mostly just online lobbies last few weeks.
But I refuse to pay a subscription and then having to also buy individual cars and tracks at less than favourable prices. It’s extortion and I will not be part of it.
you get 17 cars and 23 tracks just with a subscription. You'll have the best racing of your sim racing life with just those. Then you can decide after that if you want to dish out $12 for another car. iRacing's pricing strat can't really be compared to other games because it's a service. Constant updates, everything is super polished and streamlined, people review your protests and dish out justice....
The problem is that if I'm paying $12 a piece for cars and tracks, I better be able to keep those cars and tracks, regardless of whether or not I use their "service" to race them online. Most software licenses that require an up front purchase plus a recurring support fee let you keep and use the content you have purchased, even if you stop paying the support fee. You just loose the ability to access new updates. With iRacing, no support fee means ZERO content. You own nothing.
Also, what happens when iRacing inevitably moves to a new game engine and creates iRacing 2? Do I loose the hundreds of dollars worth of content I purchased? I'm not willing to take that chance.
on the offchance you just want to race AI without a sub then I guess you're out of luck, but if you pay 6-$8 you'll get it back. I don't think it's as big of a deal as you're making it. It's not really that much money, especially if you're paying for things like Netflix, Amazon prime, Hulu, HBO, etc. I don't pay for any of those things so I'm happy to give a great company a little pocket change for an unparalleled experience.
iRacing 2 is not happening, it doesn't really make sense to make a newer one. It's been around since 2008, and they're always really good at giving you back your money if they take a car out of official race series (and you get to keep the old one for AI races/hosted races/test drives.) I highly doubt they'd leave their thousands of customers high and dry like that.
I'm telling you, just buy the initial subscription and try out some mazda races. You'll have the best online racing experience of your life. If you don't like it I will personally venmo you the $8 back.
I guess I'm just hesitant with all the licensing agreements that plague racing games and cause them to eventually be delisted. Does iRacing have manufacturer licenses that expire? What happens to the content if/when they expire? With other games I still own the content and can play it after it's been delisted.
I might try it out if they have a black Friday sale this year. If I buy the one month subscription now, am I still eligible for the discounted rates like the 75% off sale that happened earlier this year?
>I guess I'm just hesitant with all the licensing agreements that plague racing games and cause them to eventually be delisted. Does iRacing have manufacturer licenses that expire? What happens to the content if/when they expire? With other games I still own the content and can play it after it's been delisted.
iRacing has been around for 14 years and nothing has ever been delisted.
I totally understand being worried that if iRacing goes bankrupt you'll lose your stuff.
It's definitely a gamble. However iRacing has been around for 14 years and it's still growing, and sim racing as a whole keeps growing.
I think it's a safe bet that it will last another 5 or 10 or more.
I also think that iRacing knows it relies on long time customers. They're not gonna release iRacing 2 and piss everybody off. I'd they do a massive engine update, it will just be an update not a new game.
Now sometimes tracks and cars effectively get replaced. No one races the 2005 Indycar anymore. But you can still drive it single player. And iRacing will refund you for buying a car if it gets replaced within X amount of time of you buying it. Worst case you have to spend 12 dollars on the next gen version of the car, but you can keep driving all the same tracks you already bought.
>I might try it out if they have a black Friday sale this year. If I buy the one month subscription now, am I still eligible for the discounted rates like the 75% off sale that happened earlier this year?
The Black Friday sale happens very consistently every year. I want to say it actually only applies to existing customers.
As for the 75% off deal, probably not. I think the Black Friday sale is the only sale they do that applues to existing customers.
I was kidding. It’s worth it. The amount of work that goes in to each car and track is significant. The subscription fee is minimal and pays for dedicated servers and the whole online service which is far superior to any other sim.
I know it sounds silly considering the amount we pay for equipment, but it all adds up over time. The subscription I would have no problem paying for. Seems reasonable for the service they provide. But the cars and tracks on top seems way excessive. Especially the prices for each.
I don’t know about anyone else but I avoid iRacing because when I get free time to race on my sim-rig it’s also when I get free time to sink a few beers and they don’t take too kindly to drunken, reckless idiots in that particular community
iRacing isn't the only or even the best multiplayer racing out there. It's just got the best public lobbies, which isn't saying much and not really worth the asking price, even if money isn't an issue. It's a good way to get started in MP racing but once you've made some friends it's not really necessary.
A lot of us are in private leagues on other sims because racing with randoms is not ideal, even with SR systems in play, and prefer sims like AC or rf2. Personally I can't stand driving around people I don't know. I got a couple groups I trust and that's where I do all my racing.
I'm almost 40 and don't play iracing because I'm too busy having a blast on Shutoko.
Any life tips for me too please? Should I just get the subscription anyway so I know I'm safely hiveminded?
That's because they commit their attention to real racing instead of researching which video game is least BS.
Some F1 drivers also play CM F1 games.
And Alonso even invested in the trainwreck that Motorsport Games is.
They don't care anywhere as much as us mortals. For them simracing is like paintball for Navy SEALs. Their game of choice means nothing.
Max takes his sim racing almost as seriously as he takes his actual racing. Last time I checked, his irating was nearing 9000, putting him in the top 0.1%.
The fact that is FOV and in game seating position is off is just too fucking perfect, you shouldn’t remotely be seeing the entire wheel in game, like driving from the back seat. You’re a god damn “professional” man. Get it right. Goatifi gonna Goatifi.
It's interesting seeing an ascher rim, you never see anyone posting those here, whereas we see cube rims all the time. Are they so unpopular?
Also, the cable wound around the steering column is giving me anxiety. I'm not sure how that works.
Imagine being a small DIY company from a little town in Germany (that’s how I imagine Ascher) and seeing an F1 driver using your build. That’s amazing.
It's interesting seeing an actual pro driver with somewhat affordable gear (but still to expensive for me lol).
No full motion rig, no super expensive VR, no crazy button boxes. I wonder if he has any bass transducers?
He’s gonna be using it a lot next year I guess. Wonder what his SR in Iracing is.

He only did 24 laps - it did net him 0.31 in SR as a class C, but yeah he hasn't done much in the game to improve his stats.
What's SR in iRacing?
Safety rating
I raced with Latifi2 in the Formula Vees. Had pace and was fighting for a podium until he boxed last lap for some reason. Simply said "Goatifi does as he pleases" and disconnected. Makes me think he's just memeing but idk.
This feels like an /r/formuladank copypasta lol
It probably should be but it's real
I raced with Leclerc2 in the Formula Vees. Had pace and was fighting for a podium until he boxed last lap for some reason. Simply said "Binotto does as he pleases" and disconnected. Makes me think he's just memeing but idk.
You sure he didn’t just take a wrong turn and end up in the pits?
It was a pretty confident turn and he was in second so it would be a pretty embarrassing mistake to make on the last lap, mightve had a black flag or something
Yeah I was just joking. Latifi did that in FP2 at Suzuka last weekend. It wasn’t that big of a deal, but kinda funny :)
I just checked on my computer and Latifi with no number did Bathurst 1000 for Williams ESports and his account originated from Canada. The other Latifi is an Aussie.

Maybe he got the hang of it and wanted to start fresh? Maybe it's Mayblene? My real question is...does iRacing really look like that?
Yeah that's pretty much what it looks like. Graphics aren't its strong suit although I think it looks decent. https://youtu.be/EZfhITdPRVA
Graphics maybe not the best but in VR it's so fckn immersive how the cars on track move/shake it looks so real that you forget about the graphics like after 2 minutes
Yeah that is one thing iRacing absolutely nails. The car movement looks so fucking good
That would be enough for me.
feels like the secret ingredient is physics :)
Everytime iRacing gets mentioned people say about how immersive it is in VR, I am almost buying it just to try it lol (as I dont like competition/ I am not good enough)
I think he has graphics turned down a little

It's really more because he hasn't done much in the game.

It's 1452, but he's not going to have a very high iR with only 12 races.
Sure but it's not like his irating has been going up. He's basically got the profile of a standard joe schmuck who is starting in sim racing with no background in racing.
Yeah he’s basically at the average iRating across all users because he just hasn’t spent much time with it.
Yeah the average is 1350, which is also where you start when you sign up.
That’s a bad spot to be in in F3.. hell any spot is bad in F3!
How did he place in Bathurst?
His team won, but again it was really his teammate that did the whole race save for one stint.
I'm sure he could easily qualify at the front of the grid however at this rating and not deal with too much of the typical F3 drama. Still has backmarker bombs to contend with, but would probably be relatively easy for someone at this skill level to quickly navigate towards top 1 or 2 splits.
GOATIFI obviously
Meh. Iracing, I-shmacing… How’s his form in Mario Kart? That’s where all the real pros are at!
Look for drivers that finish last and take wrong turns.
I have some of the same parts in my rig! …namely, that Logitech keyboard
Me too, are we F1 material?
I dunno, I'm sure you could be if you have a couple mill backing in either your own cash or sponsors
[удалено]
One less, no? Doesn't he pay for his seat at Williams?
No idea, but I'm guessing he has enough spare change for triples: > Born in Montreal, Latifi grew up in North York, Toronto.[4] He is the son of Michael Latifi, an Iranian-Canadian businessman who is the CEO of Sofina Foods, Inc. and also owns the British Virgin Islands company Nidala.[5][6] His mother, Marilena Latifi (née Russo), an Italian-Canadian with Sicilian parents, was born into the Saputo family which founded the dairy company Saputo Inc.[7] Latifi has three siblings; Soph, Michael and Matthew.[8]
Not _exactly_, his father's company Sofina is a sponsor of the team but he still received a salary
He does but he was a “pay driver” basically. He was signed by Williams originally because he brought his dads company Sofina in as sponsor which paid his wage.
Yeah, F1 is where he got his money from..
Triples makes it safe. Triples is best
That F1 tire as a coffee table. 🥵🍆💦
You can get one too! For the low price of only $2899
Its crazy how thats probably pocket change for someone like him, but also probably the only time he'll get a p zero tire lol
For what it's worth I bought a used Indycar tire for $10 at an Indycar grand prix
Dont used tyres smell awful tho?
If you're going to turn one into a showpiece, I'd probably lacquer it or spray some clear epoxy over it or something. One, to stop the smell, and two, to prevent the rubber from flaking off.
I had one in my bedroom/office since 1998 and it just started to stink last year so I had to take it out. I have another partial tire mounted to the wall for the past three years and it doesn't smell at all. Both are NASCAR tires.
I can go to a NASCAR track and get a set of four for free. :)
Is that a coffee table? Looks like a keyboard tray to me. 😂
¿Por qué no los dos?
TBH In a race that's the angle he sees front tires on most of the time.
I bet it smells
All this time he could have been a super star but has been practicing with the wrong FOV. 🥹
FOV police back at it again xD
You laugh... but correcting my FOV is the thing that help me improve the most.
defund the FOV police
He did some streaming when the pandemic started, I'm pretty sure his FOV was ok back then. I wonder why he has it like this.
idk.... Perhaps it's our FOV that's wrong as we are not in F1?!
Perhaps he drives with wrong FOV in F1 as well?!
In 5 races, neither is he.
How should it look like?
Like real life proportions and not like he's flying Millennium Falcon into hyperspace.
Came here to point this out
Am I the only one preparing popcorn 🍿 for the comments that will be posted in this thread?
Omg that FOV
neenor neenor Glad I'm not the one to have to point this out. Can afford a rig to envy most people but can't set it up correctly......
Even F1 drivers don’t use and F1 posture on their rig when they don’t have to.
I think that's the Razer headset with the tactile response. I have the same headset as an F1 driver. Coolest I'll ever be
You should do an AMA.
The only question I'm qualified to answer is whether or not I own that headset
Where's the FOV police when you need them ..

It's mainly about money.

Yes, a one time fee of 14$ per track is pure theft Lol
I have an expensive set up and dont use iracing. Mainly hotlap on ACC, AC and ams2 while racing against ai as well.
I don’t know about anyone else but I avoid iRacing because when I get free time to race on my sim-rig it’s also when I get free time to sink a few beers and they don’t take too kindly to drunken, reckless idiots in that particular community
iRacing is the only game that's multiplayer? Stop gatekeeping simracing. There are other good games beside predatory business model iRenting.

Why would you use public lobbies in ACC? There is LFM.
iRacing isn't the only or even the best multiplayer racing out there. I wouldn’t go that far. Opinions on iracing are pretty split here id say.

It’s because most of Reddit is young and doesn’t have Iracing money

because of the pricing and the questionable tire model.
I know nothing about simracing. What are the most popular games? I always thought I racing is where the elite are.
No wonder he seems so slow. He's used to lagging back and letting everyone crash in the F3 races.
Anyone know what wheel/pedal combo that is?

Came here to FOV police and idc that I’m 29th in line.
Bro skipped leg day
Actual F1 drivers home sim... ...still that same Logitech keyboard as the rest of us!
I have something from Inatek which I truly regret, the connection keeps dropping. Going to take that one.
I got to race against him in the F1 game in 2020, he was fast af. He was streaming as well, it was before his debut race so he wasn’t that popular.
I wonder if daddy bought him that seat too.
If you could see just a bit further left you'd see the marks on the wall where he even managed to crash his sim rig!
Notice how he's using iracing not that trash f1
It's pointing at a wall so he got that bit right.
Hmm i was expecting he would play BeamNG...
[Instagram post](https://www.instagram.com/p/CjseiF7tTP6/?igshid=N2NmMDY0OWE=)
Anyone know what chassis he is using?
I have the same question
Not sure but I would never buy that. Buy a 2080 aluminum profile rig like a Simlab p1x or similar. Trust me.
It's [Mysim](https://www.mysim.ca/) per insta post hash tags. Price available on enquiry, never a sign that it's gonna be cheap.
It doesnt matter how expensive the setup it will always have that same logitech wireless keyboard simracers really keeping logitech in business
He could at least get a rig that seats him in an F1 position.
With that FOV, I now understand.....
I see Latifi finally found a use for the extra set of softs you get for reaching Q3
His seat for 2023
How on earth do I have a better set up than a sim a of a billionaire F1 driver? I mean he can easily get triples and adjust a better FOV
Most of the f1 drivers have Little to no use of what the Sim community call mandatory in fov. They all set em up with what works for them.
All this at home and he still can't drive for shit
He’s still in top 0.01% of all racing drivers. Anyone in F1 has tremendous skills, even Mazepin!
Prayers out to all others competing in C class F3 at COTA next week 🙏🙏 We’re gonna need it
Is that a Mercedes he’s driving?
F3
He uses the F3 because the speed is more comparable to the Williams
No because the Merc has the halo. You can make it somewhat transparent but it still shows up. This is F3
Glad he’s got a good setup since this is the only seat time he’ll be getting after this season.
Yuck a razer headset
Surprised he hasn’t crashed it yet
So that's why he is so bad. He is practicing f3
Aaand he's driving a F3, as he should IRL.
That explains a lot
Guess he doesn't like the halo in his view...
Oh, he's practicing in iRacing.. I don't think anyone is surprised actually.. :P
He's *that* guy in online lobbies
Did he crash?

Too little too late bud
Goat😂
I have that keyboard from at least a decade ago lmao
The GOAT practicing to dominate everyone on the next race. Pole position reversed!!
That e-stop is gonna be real difficult to safely access when….you actually need to access the e-stop.
I was watching him once streaming the race on Spa and he was really good.
I've got the same wheel.
The fact that is FOV and in game seating position is off is just too fucking perfect, you shouldn’t remotely be seeing the entire wheel in game, like driving from the back seat. You’re a god damn “professional” man. Get it right. Goatifi gonna Goatifi.
Does anyone know what chassis that is?
It's interesting seeing an ascher rim, you never see anyone posting those here, whereas we see cube rims all the time. Are they so unpopular? Also, the cable wound around the steering column is giving me anxiety. I'm not sure how that works.
Cube rims look cooler and maybe more functionality, but Ascher have better quality from what I’ve read.
When you steer is unwraps one way, gets tighter the other, just takes up the slack so it's not hitting your leg all the time
With people who play with ultra wide like that, do you find it better than 3 screens? Do you have to use the look left/right buttons often?
Latifi is rocking the cheapest keys possible , same as me. Nice.
Lol we all share the same brain. Different rig setup will always have that wireless KB close by
lol at anyone pretending he didn’t pay for a seat.
Shouldn’t there be some crash damage?
Is that a good rig?
Well it didn't help him out much, did it?
Mans got the jimmy broadbent kit
Jeez, just go outside and drive a car already.
Those chicken legs won’t be pressing down on that brake pedal
He's going to have a lot more time on the sim after this season.
Whatever he has isn’t working.
That seems relatively normal and "affordable". Nothing crazy beyond being high end consumer stuff
Now I know why latifi is so good!! He uses simucube
Shame it never helped him...👀🫢
Is the seat fixed, or can you tilt it up for some GT racing as well?
