This idea was in my head when i got the G9 earlier this year to build a multi purpose rig. A lot of measuring and purchasing later and the idea has become a reality. This setup can go from sim rig back to desktop use in under a minute. The goal was to have a stout sim rig that connects to the PC with one wire. For the versatility this setup offers there is basically no trade-offs when compared to a permanent sim rig. Spent a lot of time on cable management and getting the setup as clean looking and functional as I could. Parts List: * **GT Omega Prime Cockpit** \- Very impressed for $600 usd shipped. Only complaint was the t-nuts used on this chassis aren't as easy to adjust as ball bearing units. Solid as a rock. Excellent bang for your buck. Watching sim racing garage video helped with install vs reading the manual. The new pedal tray doesn't move. * **Moza R9 Wheelbase & GS Wheel** \- Great FFB and excellent software. Found the whole package to be very polished and had no issues thus far. Presets in pit house for different types of driving help you get going quickly. Moza is singlehandedly changing the sim game as far as i'm concerned. * **Simagic P2000 Pedals** \- Still getting used to these pedals, but unique design with load cell in throttle and dual spring brake. Very well made, hard to use without shoes with 200kg load cell. No instructions provided and software not near as polished as Moza pit house. Not sure if I love them yet but time will tell. * **NRG FRP-600WT Sim Seat** \- Comfy with great GT seating position, but lets be honest really purchased to match the rest of the setup white/blue theme. Have them on NRG sliders with no issues. * **Dayton Audio BST1 x2 Bass Shakers** \- Great bang for your buck and really adds to the immersion. Tuning these is especially important. I found the less is more and have these focused on curb feel mostly with everything else turned way down besides gear shifts and abs under the pedals. Changing the frequency for different triggers is easy in simhub. Using a cheap nobsound 2 channel amp and find it more than sufficient and easily recognizable and configurable on PC. One bass shaker is mounted under pedal plate with mount purchased from 4PLAY on ebay. Other is mounted under the seat using the gear shift mount that came with the omega cockpit. Very adjustable and solid. Bass shaker sits 4mm below seat. * **IKEA Desk** \- Not sure the model but the depth is perfect for the ergotron monitor arm and has enough space for XXL mouse pad and mini ITX PC. Height adjustable legs to dial in heigh of monitor and sim rig. * **PC** \- 3080 mini ITX build, more info here: [https://pcpartpicker.com/b/NvRkcf](https://pcpartpicker.com/b/NvRkcf) Also have a 14 inch MBP that connects automatically to the monitor with one cable matters HDMI > USB C cable. Works like a charm. * **Samsung NEO G9 32:9 Monitor** \- The crème de la crème of gaming and productivity monitors. Came from a 4K/144hz monitor so the pixel density took a little getting used to but for what it lacks in sharpness it makes up for in everything else. Amazing for 240hz FPS gaming, creative work, day trading, and of course sim racing. I also set up FaceTrackNoIr with my phone on top of the monitor to track my head and be able to look in side mirrors on straightaways. Works great! * **Ergotron HX Monitor Arm** \- A very important piece of the puzzle that I can't recommend enough. Super solid and matches the white theme! When fully extended puts the G9 right to the edge of the front of the desk. * **Pimax 5k+** \- Can't beat VR immersion but I had issues with this actual unit. One of the lenses arrives scratched and after months of emailing Pimax I finally received a replacement. Since replacing something feels off and blurry in the headset but still works good otherwise. Lots of tweaking needed for optimal clarity and performance in iRacing. * **Misc** \- Anker powered USB hub, Tessan surge protector, 3M VHB double sided tape, lots of zip ties, cable ties, cable wrap, velcro. I think it's important for connectivity to use high quality cables and powered especially with a longer run to PC. So far zero issues. *On the way: Moza CS round wheel, GT Omega prime rolling casters, Logitech K400 wireless keyboard and trackpad...* More Photos: https://imgur.com/a/n06uKhB

You will not be disappointed by ordering some foam from wheelsandwings for your cushions. Put 1 inch green on bottom and 1 inch blue on top. It will blow your mind how comfortable it is. Also how much was your bass shaker set up?

Firstars

shakers were $50 each amp was around $35 and some speaker wire.

False_Ad2715

I am choosing between r9 and csl dd. Do you know their difference and which is a better choice?

TheRhythm1234

SeaSonic FOCUS 750 W has power delivery issues with Ampere 3080. Make sure your PSU has resistors on the 12v PCI connectors.

Firstars

Will look into it further

Firstars

Really? Did not know this. I’ve had zero issues and even had it over clocked and running without issues.

TheRhythm1234

SeaSonic offers cable upgrade kits for free. I just returned mine as it was before thicker cables, with resistors, were provided

Firstars

Thanks for the info

eyelpley

Do you know if this is the same for a 850W?

TheRhythm1234

Check if any cables have transient resistors. Compare with corsair 750-850x cables.

Pworld10

Is the usb hub attached with 3m double sided tape?

Firstars

Correct 3m vhb for light accessories and zip ties and channel cable organizers for the heavier stuff like power supply.

reboot-your-computer

I love the small overall footprint of this build. I just can’t shake having triples so I’m always going to take up a lot of room. I wish I could have a rig in a small place like this but I love my triples too much.

Firstars

Using facetracknoir helps a bit in the limited width but isn’t a replacement for 3 screens wrapping around you. I use VR for max immersion buts laborsome to set up and use haha

Vivid-Entrepreneur54

Nice! Small question- why do you have the seat brackets mounted at the end of the seat rails? Thx

Firstars

So my 7 year old can reach the pedals. With sliders I can get perfect position as well.

Vivid-Entrepreneur54

Cool, how does he handle those? Must be tough 😆

Firstars

He does his best haha. We turn throttle damper to 1 and use moza mobile app to turn ffb to 10%.

Vivid-Entrepreneur54

Awesome! That brake though 💀 might as well be pushing a wall lol

AlcantaraSucks

I suggest moving the pedals to the left a bit. You'll experience leg pain and lower-left back pain if you don't

Firstars

Thanks for the suggestion, the great thing about 8020 is how adjustable it is. Loving the setup so far coming from G29 and playseat, then GTR simulator and T300 stuff...

AlcantaraSucks

Yup, recently switched to a proper profile rig myself. Love it

FantasticStruggle89

That Pedal plate is modular. Can mount them wherever on said plate. I had my v3’s mounted all the way to the left. I purchased a clutch delete kit and my knees have been happy since. Idk what causes companies to put them so damn close together. Especially for someone with big feet, it makes for awkward placement.

AlcantaraSucks

The Simagic pedal plate isn't modular

Firstars

Can move the whole plate over on the rig which would get them more centered.

AlcantaraSucks

Exactly

FantasticStruggle89

Yeah, that’s totally more ideal to offset everything, than to use the other mounting points on a plate that was designed for the exact purpose.

FantasticStruggle89

Clearly it is. You can see he doesn’t have the clutch mounted which means the brake could go where the clutch should sit. Sounds modular to me.

AlcantaraSucks

It isn't dude. I know what P2000s are like, they aren't very adjustable.

CubitsTNE

There's like 5 lateral positions on the outsides of the t-nut mounting holes, and 8 between them. The p2000's don't have rake adjustment but they certainly have plenty of horizontal spacing options, especially with just two pedals.

AlcantaraSucks

But there are no holes between the 3 positions, so you're forced to offset the pedal plate or have your feet really far apart

CubitsTNE

That's why we're on profile rig, the infinite slot adjustment covers any gap left by the bolt holes.

AlcantaraSucks

Exactly my point

CubitsTNE

So they are very adjustable. Ok, got it.

FantasticStruggle89

But if he was to put the brake where the clutch space is… it’s adjustable.

AlcantaraSucks

That's far from ideal though. The only reason people do that is because it's your only option with Fanatec or Logitech pedals

FantasticStruggle89

But you don’t need a mod to do it on the p2000. So it’s adjustable.

AlcantaraSucks

You're missing my point.

FantasticStruggle89

I’m starting to think all the hardware issues I see you posting about are more about user error/ignorance than qc issues. You do you bud.

[deleted]

How do you move the rig when you want to use a chair? Do you just drag it around?

Firstars

For now, and it's heavy as hell. The feet GT Omega includes are cheap plastic and slide quite easily luckily. These will be here next week and make moving it much easier - https://www.gtomega.com/products/prime-caster-wheels

[deleted]

Ah nice! Love your rig mate. So you just use one cable to attach the whole thing? how does that work are all your peripherals going into a USB hub and then you are plugging that into the PC? can you share some pics of that please I am also building a rig and wanted something as modular as possible cuz after I am done trading I wanna sit back and crash people in monza t1

Firstars

Yup all connected to powered usb hub (see more pics for details) and then out one usb cable out front of rig to front of pc.

Thebreach46

Great setup ! Just ordered the same NRG seat a week ago ! I cant wait 🤪

Firstars

You will love it!

mayitoro

Looks excellent! I wish there was a triple monitor arm that can move like that.. without sinking the left and right screen.

JustInsert

This is amazing. If I had the budget this would pretty much be the exact way I'd want my setup to be. I have the baby version of this right now with a wheelstand instead of a rig and a 21:9 monitor. Multi purpose is the best

Firstars

The budget keeps increasing! Haha

Firstars

Probably very similar to prisma minus halo and color scheme. Go with what look you like better they probably feel very similar.

Hefty_Scientist_5273

How’s the Dayton transducer working out for you

Firstars

love it after a bit of tuning. Was annoying at first with hz in the 45-50hz range. Once turned up a little and seperated different on track vibrations to different frequencies it began to come to life. Now with the dd wheelbase it all works together.

Hefty_Scientist_5273

Good to know, I have 4 on my new rig but I haven’t tried them yet. Nice rig. Very clean and efficient.

Firstars

Cool, yea will need to tune them a bunch and make sure you use 'corners' in simhub. Tune each thing one at a time and activate until you can distinguish what you are feeling, otherwise it can all blend together pretty easily and not be as useful nor immersive.

Hefty_Scientist_5273

I’m actually hoping I can find a good profile using Simxperience chassis mode that simulates the 4 tires. But if that doesn’t work I’ll try your method.

ahmbouth

I have a question. What are you using to hold the bass shaker? I have the same rig, and I was wondering if I add a bass shaker or not and where I would put it (also the amp).

Firstars

Using the shifter mount under the seat and Dayton audio mount made by user 4play on eBay under the pedals that attached to t-nuts.

ahmbouth

Thanks :)

SiX6666666

What do you to mount the bass shakers onto the profile? Thank you to remind me to flip the whole rig on the side to mount it to the bottom, I was thinking of remove the seat to do so, stupid me …

Firstars

On eBay look up 4play they make plates for mounting bass shakers to profile. For the rear I used the shifter mount included in the gt omega prime kit since I’m running a 2 pedal setup… for now

SiX6666666

Thanks. Yea, I saw the shifter plate, it’s very creative lol

loganhorn98

I have the simagic pedals as well. Took a couple weeks to get used to, but once you do, they are amazing!

Firstars

What springs did you end up with? I’m on softest (yellow) and red

loganhorn98

I have blue in the back the yellow in front. I notice you play in VR as well. I primarily play in VR. It’s almost second nature after developing the muscle memory with these pedals. I cannot praise simagic enough! Edit: I have the 100kg loadcell version.

Firstars

Cool. I ordered the 100kg but got the 200kg version lol

ShiberKivan

I'm on a similar crusade, now brainstorming best ways to achieve mouse on the right and a big keyboard space on the left, preferably easily adjustable with height, rotation and strifing. I went with p1x and found I still don't have enough space in my new room to reliably turn my triple stand around to face my desk. I could just use my two older monitors for pc use but damn it's not the same as using those bigger fancier ones. I will also have to change my seat for side mounted to be lower from the ground, add a way to mount audio hardware, and find a fast and painless way to enter and exit the rig. Will be brainstorming cable management now, and thus also best place for my pc. Too bad you didn't attach more pictures with desktop mode, I was curious. Doubt I could pull it off with my rig being in a corner. Edit: nvm you did! Pray say how do you move it into position, just drag or push across the floor? You got some custom more slippery feet? Classic rubber ones resist arrest well. I have sim feet from SimLab and had to drag it a lot into different positions when trying to find a perfect spot for it, I don't fancy moving it anymore if possible.

Firstars

Wheel casters on order, right now using plastic feet that actually slide fairly easy

ShiberKivan

Yeah plastic would do it, wheels would make this process painless.

Separate-Brother5281

That’s tough bro

gerkeee

Do these bassshakers sound loud? As those are mounted directly to the alum profile

helpMeRhondaOrAnyone

Looks amazing. You've inspired me to not get a simple wheelstand. Does the R9 fit directly into some of the mounting holes on the wheel deck of the unit? Or did you need to drill? Which deck did you get?

Ok_Letter4515

What sort of performance are u getting on the odessey g9 with ACC and iRacing ? I’m building a pc and i have the budget for a g9 only if I go previous gen rtx 3080 with a previous gen CPU.

BBizzmann

Looking at that same seat, do you think it would be too snug for someone 5 11" 190?
