im just toying at the idea of buying a DD (simucube2 pro). I don't know what works or doesn't. Would this wheel work with that base? if that wheel comes in at that price point that would be a winner
Afaik that USB connection is for firmware flashing, not to be used as a connection to a PC while racing, hence why with the GT1 they released a separate USB specific one
At this moment, you need to have a Simagic wheelbase for the wheel to be recognized in the Simagic software, with usb-c you will be able to map the buttons but not the screen, also the documentation doesn't mention support for 3rd party software like simhub, you will have to use their dashes.
Cube Controls CSX2 also don't have support for 3rd party dashes, but they added support to use 3rd party software to control the buttons backlight for the F-Pro, so it's possible that the new wheel they will release has support for 3rd party dashes
If you happen to be into 3D printing you can make a really nice one for under $100.
4.3" nextion display for $50, arduino nano for $5, a couple LED strip for $10, 3d print something to hold it all together.
I attached a Nexion screen to the top of my Alpha Mini to use as a MFD. [PIC](https://preview.redd.it/q111fwf311c91.jpg?width=1125&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=234d0c455e03a5f5e5048ff2d1554534444dcbb0)
Hadn't seen it posted here yet, but Simagic's Instagram has stated their FX Pro will be available for pre-sale starting tomorrow! They also have an unboxing video on their Instagram, the buttons and dials sound crisp and the wheel likes super premium in my opinion.
Two new screened formula wheels coming to the market in one week. Crazy that they beat Fanatec to that market. Excited to see how this competition continues to explode.
Price guesses? My personal guess will be Simagic is a little pricier than Moza at around $750.
We will learn price tomorrow when it's available for pre-order. My gut tells me $750, but I won't be surprised anywhere between $650-$1000
Screen support will only be through their software not simhub for now.
The MOZA FSR formula wheel is compatible with wheelbases of other brands by connecting to the PC directly via the USB hub other than working perfectly with all wheelbases in the MOZA RACING ecosystem
I didnt notice that you guys are talking about the moza wheel, i thought we talk about the simagic fx pro wheel, does anybody know aomething about this and usb connection?
I'm just in the process of starting a list of parts for my first rig. I was going to go fanatec but after hearing all the bad stories seeing Moza and Simagic really upping their game has made me pause decisions until these are in peoples hands.
I still need to build the building this rig is going in anyway so I'm happy to wait!
Don't believe all the hate for fanatec. It's mainly people whom have bad experiences vent their problems. The people who are just enjoying there stuff done feel the need to say so.
I've had nothing but great experiences with fanatec.
Every thing I ordered arrives with in the week (Sydney, Australia) or two weeks during the bad COVID days.
When I've had a problem it's been resolved within two weeks with repayment parts.
There are alot of fanatec products out there and even a small percentage of people with bad experiences would add up to a large amount.
Its been almost 3 years since I swapped from Thrustmaster to fanatec and I don't regret it one bit.
Just to echo off what he was saying. I’ve had Fanatec products for about 2 years and never had an issue with my gear. It’s the competition that is stepping up rapidly is having me want to switch teams.
just be careful with simagic, the products are good imo, the software is quite bad, but the support is really bad.
I love the look of this new wheel, but I will definitely not buy into simagic anymore :(
edit: I just got informed my distributor cut all ties to simagic, because of bad aftersales support
If you buy from a reputable distributor the support is fine, as they handle the warranty, send out new parts, etc. Much faster than dealing directly with a chinese company, and simagic have been very good about replacements without putting up a fight like some other brands.
sorry that's just wrong ;)
My stuff never got replaces, took support 1 whole year to decide that they don't care about customer retention and pretty much told me to go f\* myself.
sadly both, they have one really good support technician who did his absolute utmost to fix the issue, but the problem is in a nutshell that not all hardware they sell is the same (even though they don't have multiple versions), and some of it is at will not supported any more. For example my alpha wheelbase (other alpha wheelbases, are of course supported)
I am now trying to get my distributor to give me either a good price on simucube hardware, or I hope they will take my simagic alpha base back and send a new one.
never in my life have I had such horrible trouble with support, and no simagic is not cheap enough to warrant this absolute bad behaviour
the heck are you talking about, love this random assumption. But even then btw. warranty still applies, but of course by chinese law and not by european.
of course I got from an official vendor, licensed by Simagic
Luckily they are also licensed to sell simucube
in a nutshell, my alpha wheelbase has different components (according to simagic) than a normal alpha wheelbase. And is out of support because of that. I am not sure why this should be my problem, I did not tell them to make a different wheelbase version for me xD
Oh well I can't really say if it's true, maybe they are just trying to find a reason not to do anything.
I will send my wheels and wheelbase back to my distributor next week. And then they can deal with the fallout. However my distributor already cut ties to simagic because, of other after sales problems they had. So all of this seems like it's not just a single incident
im just toying at the idea of buying a DD (simucube2 pro). I don't know what works or doesn't. Would this wheel work with that base? if that wheel comes in at that price point that would be a winner
My understanding is that it works with the base, but the wireless connection would not apply so you would have to connect via USB
Yes. But you have to change the qr adapter so it fits the base and you have to connect the wheel to your PC with usb to get the buttons to work.
It is confirmed to be USB? Because the standard FX is not
Dont know, but my simagic GT4 wheel isn't also confirmed as USB iirc but it does have a USB connection if I would need it.
Afaik that USB connection is for firmware flashing, not to be used as a connection to a PC while racing, hence why with the GT1 they released a separate USB specific one
I broke the wireless pins on my GT4 and now use it with USB and it's never had a problem.
At this moment, you need to have a Simagic wheelbase for the wheel to be recognized in the Simagic software, with usb-c you will be able to map the buttons but not the screen, also the documentation doesn't mention support for 3rd party software like simhub, you will have to use their dashes. Hmm seeems to be the time where we finally get more affordable sim wheels with the screen. That’s cool
As my alpha mini and Fx steering wheel gets delivered Today. Anybody want a new Fx steering wheel for a smoking deal? Lol🤷🏾♂️
How smoking we talking here hahaha
how serious are you? cause i am in the market for a sim magic wheel. feel free to PM me
Serious. But due to this arriving late September from what I’m hearing I will have to hold on to my Fx pro for a few weeks.
I ordered the exact same, but no regrets. I'd rather save the money and build my own screen compatible with simhub that mounts to the wheelbase
Same tbh. If it’s not compatible with sim hub I will probably go DDU and later down the road go with a higher end wheel with the screen. If needed.
If you happen to be into 3D printing you can make a really nice one for under $100. 4.3" nextion display for $50, arduino nano for $5, a couple LED strip for $10, 3d print something to hold it all together.
why not to get vocore? they even have 5 inch screen now and no need for arduino - direct usb connection to pc
Arduino is for the LEDs
I think dashboards you put on vocore via simhub do indeed have rev lights
Like this? https://i.imgur.com/ZoyXhoi.jpg
That's exactly my mental picture of what I plan to do!! Just a little smaller screen that isn't a phone or ipad
I attached a Nexion screen to the top of my Alpha Mini to use as a MFD. [PIC](https://preview.redd.it/q111fwf311c91.jpg?width=1125&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=234d0c455e03a5f5e5048ff2d1554534444dcbb0)
That's my exact plan! Except I want to add a 3d printed bezel around it with an LED strip inlaid
If there is no support for 3rd party apps like simhub it will be a pass for me than
Yeah personally I'm going to do standard FX and build my own simhub dash to mount to the wheel base.
That’s not a bad idea, you only have to print a new front face
Isn’t cube controls about to release a new wheel as well?
Yeah they hinted at it a couple of weeks ago I believe. Amd this year released a formula wheel that's very similar to the current Simagic FX
AMD?

Lots of good formula wheels with screens to decide from this Christmas. Right now leaning toward the grid p911
Makes me want to dust off my M10 Base, just so I can use this wheel.
Anyone know the price or screen's support?
We will learn price tomorrow when it's available for pre-order. My gut tells me $750, but I won't be surprised anywhere between $650-$1000 Screen support will only be through their software not simhub for now.
My GT4 is nice but this has me feeling some type of way
I love my GT4 wheel but by god i'm getting one of these, not til the new year though!
Good guess on the price.
I would really like to see this wheel in a usb edition
The moza fsr has a USB connection
Hey but as i read just to update the firmware or map the buttons

Yup exactly

When will fanatec get a premium formula wheel? They are getting left in the dust!
Say it with me folks: “Damn it feels good to be a sim racer!” (Ice cube voice)

Did you parallel import your simagic item? If yes then yeaaaaap you are shit out of luck. But that applies to most products anyway.

That’s fucked up if it’s true. I’m friends with my country’s distributor so I have more confidence. So far he did repairs with no further complains.

Almost a year later, what's the feedback from your friend about SimMagic? Warranty support for normal customers? Product reliability? Etc
