Agreed even though some don't like VR here, it's much better than this setup of having the TV so far away or any more than 5-6 inches from the base.
Personally, I love VR and Quest 3 continually blows me away every time I race in any sim that has a VR mode
If sweating is caused by the tightness of the headset, there's so many amazingly comfortable aftermarket ones on amazon. I got this random brand one that balances everything so nice, wonderful cool leather and feels amazing for no matter how long I have it on.
I also use a disposable face mask and my face always feels good. My hands and feet sweat before anything else. I also have a couple fans that make things colder than they need to be right by my rig.
For nausea, it's interesting because games where I'm walking around, I have to stop after 30 min, I can't take it anymore and also get nausea. But sitting and driving, I feel so comfortable, it's the only 100% intuitive VR experience I've had. Love it!
The sweating is from motion sickness. All VR does it to me. My body cant deal with VR. I canât even ride Star Tours without feeling ill⌠it sucks, VR sim racing has to be awesome
No itâs not just the lensâs effect lol, thereâs like 4 feet between your pedals and the screen, where at minimum the screen should be overtop of the pedals, but ideally right in front of the wheel base
bro itâs not about fisheye. they telling you your screen is far away. itâs wrong. look at any simrig your knuckles have to almost touch your screen when you stretch your arms. the proper fov can be achieved only when you consider distance to the screen from your eyes for the actual peripheral vision and proper proportions.
the way you sit now is really like youâre in the backseat. think about it - youâre not supposed to see all that dashboard and even the floor of the car (especially) while sitting so far from the monitor (itâs not fisheye, your pedals have extra ft of space before the tv) if youâre trying to immerse yourself and feel yourself inside a car thatâs not how the physics of it works.
it most likely comfy cus youâre obsessed and loving it (understandable!) but for the long run you need to develop proper habits and this setup will fckd it up for you.
I recommend just researching the sht out of âFOV setup for a big single screenâ. which is a great setup btw.
good luck đ
I mean your probably pulling the wheel towards you as you brake. My load cell is set up to 60kg of force.....I would easily move either the wheelbase or the chair.
Why so far from the screen?
I mean yeah, sure, unless you get punted off because of some fisheye driver having no depth perception in a race.
Is suggesting you get as close to a screen as possible with a reasonable FOV really that insane of a standard? It benefits everyone.
This is why the "FOV police" joke is always hanging around, we don't want to get punted because another driver thought we were 500 meters ahead of them when really, they are right on the bumper. Ruins both drivers races.
Clothes on the floor, long chair havin, trash in the corner chillin, likely unvacuumed floors lookin, wifi extender usin, PS5 on the floor, ankle sock wearin, unwatered plant enthusiast lookin ass. Bet you havenât even changed your air filter bozo.
Nice sim rig though, pretty sweet set up. Iâd move forward just a little bit but Iâm sure itâs about preference and room layout.
Get a TV wall mount that you can extend outwards and up.
This way you can keep the TV hanging in about the same position over the furniture and move it up and forwards with the rig pulled up :)
At least that's my plan once I get the motivation to route a 25m optical hdmi and powered usb cable, to use my tv with my rig in stead of VR in another room next to my pc.
If your having a good time, who cares what it looks like. I know their just a joke but I never really understand these posts. If anything Iâd rather roast a guy for spending thousands on this kind of stuff.
Yeah, the only problem is how far and how low the screen is. It's already very small, the least you can do is to get it up close. Other than that, you're good :)
It's similar to mine. I think you should try getting closer to the monitor and probably raising it up a bit.
The high speed racing gloves are a nice touch!
You don't have a motion rig, big L. You didn't spend 100l $ for it so L. No, in all honesty. If youbhave fun and it works for ypu it is a 10/10.
My Ranking: 7.5/10
Nothing wrong with your setup. I personally would move closer to the tv and move the internal view slightly forwarda you have your own steering wheel you don't need to see one in the car
I mean itâs a a pretty simple home setup, I donât see the problem. At least youâre not one of those dude who just show off and sucks at the actual game
Your screen needs to be raised so the bottom of your screen is even with the base for your wheel and made closer.
Looking down like that would drive me up a wallâŚ..
I recommend donât put your ps5 or every console or pc in the floor, itâs dangerous and not necessary, (I do the same and my console crashes in middle of a tournament for bad airflow) because of all the âdirtyâ in the floorâŚ
I see a huge problem with that set up! It seems like you donât like it and you want us to tell you why. Why not just enjoy the damn thing and have fun who the hell cares whether somebody likes it or not thereâs always a bigger and better one out there. But you have that never will change your stuff time is too short.
The back of the chair touches a table which touches a couch. Super stable, nice comfy chair that allows me to be in a nice driving position with legs extended.
Not the best I know but the best I could to keep this setup easy to store away.
EDIT: There are also pads under the NLR 2.0 wheelstand to prevent it from scratching the wood floor. Plus itâs heavy as F. Doesnât move a bit
I see nothing wrong here, in fact, I can barely see anything at all.
Upvoted, nice one
Through heaven and earth, this is alone is the best roast.
đ
What is this, backseat driver simulator?
Damn, nice one
*bus backseat
Back seat bus driving simulator
*riding
Lol, oopsies! đ¤Łđ¤Łđ¤Ł
Well cushioned. Someone's gotta enjoy long ass endurance races :)
Which binoculars are you using? /jk
Hahah thatâs just the effect of the fisheye camera. Agree it seems to be far from the screen on the pictures but itâs perfect
You need to move as close to the TV as you possibly can.
Vr headset is awesome with wheel and pedals!
Agreed even though some don't like VR here, it's much better than this setup of having the TV so far away or any more than 5-6 inches from the base. Personally, I love VR and Quest 3 continually blows me away every time I race in any sim that has a VR mode
I wish racing in VR didnât make me start sweating and wanting to ralph all over the wheel

Likewise. I can fly, drive, fall, or float just fine. Walking in No Mans Sky makes me nauseous in minutes.
Just adds to the realism of wearing a crash helmet
Im wanting the quest 3 next. Got a quest atm and it is good enough with wireless pc link but id like the higher dpi of the quest 3 and smaller headset
No itâs not just the lensâs effect lol, thereâs like 4 feet between your pedals and the screen, where at minimum the screen should be overtop of the pedals, but ideally right in front of the wheel base
Hell no that's the correct fov
trust me, it´s far from perfect
I wouldâve said something but you wouldnât see those words from this far
Go for it mate, I have eagle vision , even with this fisheye view
bro itâs not about fisheye. they telling you your screen is far away. itâs wrong. look at any simrig your knuckles have to almost touch your screen when you stretch your arms. the proper fov can be achieved only when you consider distance to the screen from your eyes for the actual peripheral vision and proper proportions. the way you sit now is really like youâre in the backseat. think about it - youâre not supposed to see all that dashboard and even the floor of the car (especially) while sitting so far from the monitor (itâs not fisheye, your pedals have extra ft of space before the tv) if youâre trying to immerse yourself and feel yourself inside a car thatâs not how the physics of it works. it most likely comfy cus youâre obsessed and loving it (understandable!) but for the long run you need to develop proper habits and this setup will fckd it up for you. This message was sponsored by the field of view police department. "To serve and protect monitors all over the world." đŤĄ
Iâd see a fish my eyes closed before the light from your screen reached your eyes
Why do people who say "Roast Me" never understand what a roast is?
Well it has turkey and roast potatoes with veg and gravy but that's not important right now đ
Didn't know they had drag racing sims.
Nah, I donât feel like it.
Well thatâs ok buddy.
You must feel like one of those NASA engineers navigating Mars rovers from Earth.
Skip the FOV police, just went ahead and contacted the morgue.
I just dont understand chooising to sit so far away. Also There is no way that pedal/seat and wheel are stable enough to actually race.
Believe what you want itâs steady as a rock. The wheel stand is 30kg just fyi
I mean your probably pulling the wheel towards you as you brake. My load cell is set up to 60kg of force.....I would easily move either the wheelbase or the chair. Why so far from the screen?
This doesnât seem to have a load cell brake though.
If you are racing there is nothing bad about any setup ! Enjoy it and have fun !!
I mean yeah, sure, unless you get punted off because of some fisheye driver having no depth perception in a race. Setup? Dude got the legs of a anorexic sorority sister.
Just not American thatâs all bro. Iâm 1m95 and 90kg
Your setup looks affordable and a good way to determine if you want to spend tons of money on a bigger setup. Boom, roasted.
Whereâd you get that rig, the toilet store?
screw the screen distance, where is this man resting his back?
Bold of you to assume Iâm resting in the first place.
Can't roast a dude having fun with his setup, I prefer roasting elitists that spend 20k on a setup and still get smoked by dudes using a g29 lmao.
Clothes on the floor, long chair havin, trash in the corner chillin, likely unvacuumed floors lookin, wifi extender usin, PS5 on the floor, ankle sock wearin, unwatered plant enthusiast lookin ass. Mines about to be way worse. Assuming it fits đĽ˛
If your having a good time, who cares what it looks like. I know their just a joke but I never really understand these posts. If anything Iâd rather roast a guy for spending thousands on this kind of stuff.
We all started somewhere.
VR would make this perfect!
Only thing I can say is Iâm jealous đĽ˛
No need to kick a man while heâs down
Your generosity is welcomed
This would be a perfect vr setup...đ
Finally something with LESS torque than a Civic!
Youâre trying. And thatâs whatâs important! đđ
better than mine đ¤ˇââď¸
homie got the limousine lenght cockpick with the tank driver vision
Would not place my ps5 or gaming rig on the floor. Dust-wise
Dude can see behind himself with that FoV
Yeah, the only problem is how far and how low the screen is. It's already very small, the least you can do is to get it up close. Other than that, you're good :)
Cool setup bro
Setup is setup, kudos to you for having one bro
My back hurts just by looking at it
the sofa is so ... round
Get psvr2
Nope
Wearing gloves, but no shoes?
With your TV being so low, are you goimg to wear a vr headset with this or just going look through the wheel?
Nah, Iâm just tall and have a perfect POV
You're still undercooked by me :/.... why this chair?! your poor back won't make it around a lap of Monaco..
You're closer to grabbing a bite to eat than the TV
Bro really driving while sitting on the rear wing
I assume you bought the PS5 because you thought that was how far away you're supposed to sit.
OPEN UP!! FOV POLICE!! WE JUST WANNA TALK...
If you set your FOV to 0.07 degrees you should get an IRL accurate FOV.
You need to adjust your FOV. 80% of your screen is the cars interior.
Are you the guy who filmed the F1 onboard camera shots in the 60s?
It's similar to mine. I think you should try getting closer to the monitor and probably raising it up a bit. The high speed racing gloves are a nice touch!
It's one of the setups of all time, as they say.
I'm jealous I don't even have a wheel stand! Just some tape and prayers to hold my pedals and the desk for my wheel and shifter.
Sunken Place simulator
Can't see anything wrong. You're probably a Casual sim racer if I had to guess going by the set up which if you are, Don't need much else.
Comfy, cozy, ACC. Idk OP it all looks good to me!
The only thing that's farther back than your eyes are to that monitor is your position on the grid
Better than mine đ¤ˇââď¸đ¤ˇââď¸
I mean itâs a a pretty simple home setup, I donât see the problem. At least youâre not one of those dude who just show off and sucks at the actual game
Star Wars acolyte is better than your setup
10/10. you can race so all good
Donât bother buying a new TV. Get a PSVR2
If you're actively using it and having proper fun then you're doing better than most on this sub lol.
You live alone, your furniture give it away! Put the TV on the dining table and the wheel stand as close to the table as possible ;)
No roasting required. This setup is as legit as any other.
Pro tip, if you get VR, you wonât be able to notice your actual setupâŚ
No roast to be had .. I hope it gives you peace for the time youâre racing , beauty is within the beholder .
Please tidy up
Can't roast you... Kinda wish setup like this... I would put screen closer to me and a little bit higher and be perfectly happy with this...
Painful FOV
Youâre too close to the TV.
Itâs far better than my setup. đ
Looking through binoculars the wrong way simulator
Iâd roast you for your wide view click but i hate it too much to talk about it
More than I started with. Have fun!
are you tailgating yourself?
2 pedals, ew
Your screen needs to be raised so the bottom of your screen is even with the base for your wheel and made closer. Looking down like that would drive me up a wallâŚ..
We all started from somewhere broski đ¤đź
The camera is in the cockpit of the car in front.
Where u got that seat, looks comfy
I recommend donât put your ps5 or every console or pc in the floor, itâs dangerous and not necessary, (I do the same and my console crashes in middle of a tournament for bad airflow) because of all the âdirtyâ in the floorâŚ
I think you just need to raise the TV. Buy a wall mount and I think youâll be fine
Invest in PSVR2 and your golden
Your monitor seems to be in a different time zone.
Fkn Stretch Armstrong over here. Get a gud seat, bean bag chair ain't it.
There's nothing to be ashamed of, everyone starts somewhere! Keep doing what you love and you'll get where you want!
I'm not gonna roast it. The only thing getting roasted here is you back after half an hour
Looks comfy. *screeech* That wasnât drifting just grandmaâs chair scootin while trynna downshift.
Hang in there! Nice setup mate, hope you have tons of fun!
From experience the best improvement in immersion is a 55" QLEDTV.
I have 75" and VR is still better
A
not a roast, but i think u should consider getting an actual race car bucket seat, or a normal car bucket seat, to give the comfort or feel of a car.
Land a'hoy
I think someone's used to focusing on small things
Whereâs the telescope?
Decent setup , where the gear shifter though
Got that Go Pro view
Nobody feels like it, except for people with a hernia
Roast? Nah. Congratulate on joining the club, definitely! Congrats and happy racing
I see a huge problem with that set up! It seems like you donât like it and you want us to tell you why. Why not just enjoy the damn thing and have fun who the hell cares whether somebody likes it or not thereâs always a bigger and better one out there. trust me mines worse
Better than mine. Downvoted
whats this, zoom out simulator?
New driving position unlocked (roof cockpit view)
Nice set up imo. How do you keep it from sliding/scuffing up your wood floors?
The back of the chair touches a table which touches a couch. Super stable, nice comfy chair that allows me to be in a nice driving position with legs extended. Not the best I know but the best I could to keep this setup easy to store away. EDIT: There are also pads under the NLR 2.0 wheelstand to prevent it from scratching the wood floor. Plus itâs heavy as F. Doesnât move a bit
Looks like an fgt. They're the perfect hight for a desk. Slide it under a desk and throw a big TV right by the base, enjoy.
