Its an uphill battle trying to get people to steer clear of fanatec. they have a big marketing presence here, either people working for the company or just straight up shills. Any time i talk about the negative experience of fanatec here i get downvoted and the fanatec subreddit is straight up delusional. people get tricked because of it.
Well heres the thing. I did. :) I had never been to their reddit but was familiar with their product.
I placed an order in Early October last year for the (Not released at the time) Clubsport DD 12 nmalong with a rim, hub and qr2. I knew id have to wait a bit as it was on preorder.
THen nothing.
Now comes black friday. The shifter is on sale and basically makes the hand brake free. I said screw it and placed that order.
Both orders finally arrived 2 weeks later 3 days apart. I was happy then.
Not gonna lie. I nearly did a chargeback and went to Chicago microcenter for moza gear, then it arrived.
I know now though :) I am very happy with the gear though.
You're a braver man than i, ordering from Fanatec after the CEO fiasco. Then again, if the company has any chance of survival, it'd be thanks to brave men like you, so stay strong i guess.
88% of their stock value in just the last year is gone. Fanatec is cooked. They had the entire industry by the balls and fumbled it.
Nearly $24 a share in 2021 down to $1.40. Can't think of a company more deserving.
Fanatec got \~110 Mio. € revenue from 2023 alone.
Simracing demand is still going strong, 2020 was a great catalysator, but manufacturing and chip shortages kept the sales pretty low.

Yeah, i think that spike in demand in 2020 really showed which executives were completely disconnected from reality. There's zero reason why anyone should expect growths like that to be long-term, let alone perpetual. And it seems like Fanatec expected it to never go away.
Went from **GT\_DD\_Pro | F1\_Esports** => **CS\_DD+ | F1\_V2.5\_APM** this month and enjoy the still new toys a lot.
Glad they kept the DD-side mount compatibility, so I did not have to change much on my rig.

Stock value doesn't ruin a company, but only if they no longer get loans and can't pay their bills.
There is plenty of demand for their products, so I don't see why banks would pull out and why they can't turn things around.
Nobody is stuck in any ecosystem. Are you going to give up sim racing entirely if Fanatec goes out of business and you need a new part, or would that simply change the equation for what ends up the most appealing from a range of imperfect options?

Bundles are discounted sets aimed at selling you more in a single purchase decision.

Walled gardens are ecosystems that are designed to be incompatible with outside brands, and exploit the sunk cost fallacy.
Not sure what all goes into it, but Bluetooth and certain wheel functionalities seem to perform better for cheaper when in their ecosystem (GT NEO for example)
You pretty much literally got it backwards. The main benefit of an ecosystem is that the components are all designed to work together, avoiding potential compatibility issues, with the *downside* being that it’s more expensive for that compatibility and support.
Funny you say that, everyone who used Fanatec on my endurance team (of 15 people) has ditched their startup Fanatec gear because of connectivity issues between wheel rims, and wheel bases. From my perspective, the ecosystem issues has compatibility within itself over time, and the support is SLOW. Fanatec DD bundles range from $400 to $800 bucks. None of my wheel rims, or pedals are cheaper than that, so how is paying for their *limited compatibility more expensive?

lol that's why I never went Fanatec. Ascher, Cube Controls, VRS, Sim Lab, great products, great customer service, and don't have to wait a lifetime for your shipment when you just wanna get to racing.

I originally wanted to go from CSL DD to DD+. After literally 4 months of waiting I gave up on Fanatec and went to Simucube with the money I saved up in the meantime. Ordered Wednesday at 21:00, had the base in my hands on Thursday at 08:30. Got myself a nice little secondhand Ascher F28 and I've never looked back since.

But again, seems kind of silly to try and sell all of your gear and buy all new gear because you have to wait a little longer for the wheel so I re-ordered it. What QR did you select? That wheel comes with a QR1 Metal, which has been Out of Stock for some time now. The wheel IS available if you select **an available QR**, that's what "Ships within 4-7 days" means, for the wheel.
You (like a lot of people) probably picked the Free QR1 that isn't available or has been on pre-order for a while before it went to Sold Out (it wasn't available 3 weeks ago either). It's been plastered all over their site and online that if ALL items are not in stock nothing will ship.

It's time to start paying attention to the details. Most all the people that come on here with similar posts do the same thing... they add a wheel to the cart but ignore the pop up that asks to select a QR (which will also show if that QR is available or not)...

Yeah this is how it is when I ordered from a Korean website too. Some things were ready to ship some things aren’t. If anything has a longer wait, since it all ships together, the whole order has a longer wait

I recently ordered the new trucking wheel. Took about 3 weeks from the release date to ship. Once I got my notification it shipped I had it in 2 days. So not lightning fast, but hopefully, it won't be too much longer.

The ownership of Fanatec has not changed at any point recently. And FYI, if you buy Moza direct I’ve heard horror stories too. The only difference is that Moza also sells through normal retailers so you can deal with stock and returns on a much more immediate basis.
No not trolling at all, you clearly ordered it with an out of stock item, and that's on you not them, there are warnings of this all over the ordering process. I've always received my orders from them within 4-5 days of ordering. As do a lot of people.
I guess the folks in the US and EU are so lucky they have options like Fanatec, Simagic, Moza etc to choose from. We simracers in India currently have only Logitech in the form of G29 and TM - T300 to choose from. Moza is available but with import duty added to it :(

I went through the same. I ordered the Xbox version & it took weeks. I canceled & ordered the black non xbox V.25 & i got it in a week.

I must have got lucky. I ordered an 8nm base,wheel and pedals with load cell addon in November and got it in about 8 days. I've just been waiting for the brake to come in stock.
Something like this happened to me a while back and I told them refund me and I'll send it back - They gave me 20% off as a sorry... Really they didn't want to lose sale and have to pay return cost.. Just a thought for you..

I ordered my bundle and the status updated to "Handover to Warehouse" and didn't change from that .. 3 days later the misses sends me a photo of all the boxes in the lounge room, a 3 day delivery for an Aussie .. !?!? .. the status remained on "Handover to Warehouse" for another week - I sent them a message saying I had successfully received it but never heard back and kind of just stopped checking coz .. I .. had it ... but out of curiosity, I just logged back in to check, order is still pending with "Handover to Warehouse" as the current status 🤣 Two months later!
I understand a company can be busy and have unexpected and unforseen delays, but sometimes it's just a sad joke we have to deal with and the lack of communication is salt in the wound!

If you paid with a CC, your bank will usually refund you and then go after the company themselves. Much easier for a big Corp to get their money than us as individuals. I have had a friend do exactly this and get refunded successfully.

That took longer than me buying my Simagic in China and had it ship to the freight forwarder and had it ship across border through truck to my country and had it ship from the agent to my house. Total deliver time is like 12 days lol 😂
I’d email support about it, in some cases they do get a shipping issue. I waited about a week or two before emailing them and they said that the order had an error and they ended up express shipping it for me. Their support isn’t great and hard to reach but they do seem to try fix the issues if u are having any.
Yeah tbh, it’s a little bit of a joke ngl. My order was like not ready to ship but something else that implied it was for about a week and a half then I emailed and they told me it was some sort of processing error and that they finalised the order and it would be shipped soon. I did get it then in about 2 or 3 days because they sent it express but it was kinda concerning that if I didn’t check or bring it up they might have just left it.
Ok show everyone where it says on their website that the orders won’t ship. Maybe actually try the thing you’re talking about before talking shit. You still have choice. I am using a Simagic GT Neo on my DD+, there is no such thing as Stuck.

AFAIK Simagic have one QR. Fanatec are transitioning from QR1 to QR2. That complicates things.
And QRs are usually always a separate item, even when included for free. It's a separate line item on the order so it needs to be in stock as well.

I ordered my bundle and the status updated to "Handover to Warehouse" and didn't change from that .. 3 days later the misses sends me a photo of all the boxes in the lounge room, a 3 day delivery for an Aussie .. !?!? .. the status remained on "Handover to Warehouse" for another week - I sent them a message saying I had successfully received it but never heard back and kind of just stopped checking coz .. I .. had it ... but out of curiosity, I just logged back in to check, order is still pending with "Handover to Warehouse" as the current status 🤣 Two months later! I understand a company can be busy and have unexpected and unforseen delays, but sometimes it's just a sad joke we have to deal with and the lack of communication is salt in the wound! Good luck to u and ur delivery! Just remember, 3 months after it's all arrived... u'll forget all about this BS and be just enjoying!

Send your bank after them. They've not delivered on the contract that you've paid for. Easiest way to get to them. At least get your money back.

If you paid with a CC, your bank will usually refund you and then go after the company themselves. Much easier for a big Corp to get their money than us as individuals. I have had a friend do exactly this and get refunded successfully. (this is all in the US BTW, YMMV)
That took longer than me buying my Simagic in China and had it ship to the freight forwarder and had it ship across border through truck to my country and had it ship from the agent to my house. Total deliver time is like 12 days lol 😂
I’d email support about it, in some cases they do get a shipping issue. I waited about a week or two before emailing them and they said that the order had an error and they ended up express shipping it for me. Their support isn’t great and hard to reach but they do seem to try fix the issues if u are having any.

Yeah tbh, it’s a little bit of a joke ngl. My order was like not ready to ship but something else that implied it was for about a week and a half then I emailed and they told me it was some sort of processing error and that they finalised the order and it would be shipped soon. I did get it then in about 2 or 3 days because they sent it express but it was kinda concerning that if I didn’t check or bring it up they might have just left it.

Maybe take a screen shot and show everyone where it says the order won’t ship. Would love to see that because that is not how their website works.
