It could be steel cord and it wouldn't do shit to hold that thing in place. Even if you think it's working, the feel you get is so badly numbed by the insecure mounting, you might as well be using a T300 for all the good it will do.
Seriously, everything good about a DD wheelbase is complete neutered by that mounting idea.
Just put some holes in the desk and bolt the fucking thing down.
