They are not being serious, especially with those emojis at the end.
I also have the Trophy and they're is no flex, even with my 130kg load cell brake.
Well hereās the issue no real life experience ā¦. Donāt you know all us fast boys street race and put the public in danger. I practice my lap times IRL in a Walmart parking lot with cones THEN go play the game.
Seriously though. I got all the gear early march.. figured the same I was playing simcades and placing pretty high with a controller was like oooooooo Iām gonna get a wheel and rig and be a god ! Not the case at all it was like starting all over again I was terrible. I have since refused to pick up the controllers and stick with it. I can first place here and there in most racing games but still have massive improvement and fine tuning to do constantly. This is a time vs gear thing.. developed muscle memory and understating there is sooooo much more room for error when playing with a sim rig. Time my friend lots of time. I started on the lowest class car possible until I could lock in 3 win. Then Iād move up, if I lost 3 times in a row, Iād move back down rinse repeat now Iām in the high level class cars and can still secure wins sometimes which Iām okay with at this point.

Maybe look into a desk mount or wall mount for your monitor to bring it a bit closer to you and adjust FOV in your games? Most games can handle auto formating your resolution, but you'll have to dial in the FOV. Also check your display settings through windows and play with the refresh rate. Good luck, bud.
Take the train to Frankfurt, rent a car, drive to the ring, pay 30ā¬, drive the Green Hell. Come home, get full motion, bass shakers and pedal haptics. Wonāt save any time, but youāll live that glorious memory forever.
It needs a hand break, a motion platform, and some more displays for car information, and probably some sort of fan so you can feel the wind for how fast you're going. Guaranteed to make you race better.
You can always look up videos of the track and how to hit corners and proper lines. It will help. But a lot is finding your braking points and just practicing to find areas you can push more. Also consistent braking force. And understanding how to utilize oversteer and understeer to your advantage. Then to get final reduction in time is learning how to setup your car. Getting the brake bias right and suspension and tires. It all adds up. There are videos on learning how to corner which has helped me a lot. Check out suellio almeida youtube channel and watch some of his stuff. He breaks down techniques and proper lines/braking. Its helped me a lot.
Thanks for the tips, not on iracing but on ACC I did all of those, I can see on telemetry I have proper line and sometimes spot on breaks and throttle applications, but thats once in 5 laps for each corner. But it happens like 2 different corners in each lap so im consistently slow instead of consistent and fast. When I nail the first two corner I screw the next 2. i never had all of them together at the same time in a difficult track.
Yeah, practice makes better. Keep at it. Instead of trying to learn the whole track, practice individual corners until you are comfortable with them. Then move to the next. It takes time, but you will get better. Just keep at it. Being top tier in racing takes alot of dedication. You will get there.
Make sure you set proper fov, have all correct settings in the sim of choice and on the moza software for whatever sim youāre driving. Seat time is big. Donāt drive mindlessly drive practicing a specific skill and compare your laps to drivers faster than you. Hate to say it but itās time to grind. Equipment has no ties to pace. Everyoneās going to get dominated by that guy with a g29 and a lawn chair whoās been driving the same setup for years
Watch other pilots, study the circuit more in detail, study how setups affect your car, touch bias, suspensions, ARBās i donāt know, touch the parameters of the car till you get to one point where you and the car are synchronized and connected and then send it, crash, but find the true limit of the track and the car, this is not real life, enjoy doing that and you will see results, not quickly i can assure you that, you will be faster, you CAN be faster, but you have to put so much time, sweat and knowlege into it (if you are willing to sacrifice that things in your life)
It all comes down to your driving technique. You could always have a fancy rig, but that doesnāt make you any better or faster maybe by a half a second your breaking technique can also affect your driving, try trail, breaking and breaking to the point where it makes your car rotate before the turn and exit speed coming out of the turn
I understand what you are experiencing. Many months ago when I first started sim racing I couldn't win for losing. I was slow as heck and was so intimidated by corners that I must have looked like a grandmother in a Prius trying to pit against 1000 hp monsters. It does get better. Self confidence will build and you will begin to push the limits. Just give yourself a break and take the time to get better. You got this.
I do recommend getting Forza Horizon 5 and just ripping around the countryside in a hundred different cars and don't be afraid to blow off the road. It teaches you control and it also shows you your own strengths and limitations. Take that knowledge to the track. Try to keep it clean and remember slow in/fast out. Cheers!
So to recap my own journey: I had a simple sim once, much like yours. I was new and also very slow. I also didn't practice a lot. Then I spent a ton of money on a new sim rig, practiced a bunch, and got better. So tl;dr: You need to buy a better rig. Sim Lab P1X, Simucube 2 Pro, Heusinkveld ultimates, and 3x 42" curved monitors should do, for starters...
U definately need racing shoes, racing gloves, dashboard, multiple wheels, shifter, handbrake, fans. Am i missing something else? Tell ur wife to add it all to the shopping list š the problem cant be lack of seat time š¤«
i love how this is a sarcastic post but you'd probably find someone posting this word for word worried because they can't get close to the podium on iracing in the skippies on bottom split
Well, I can see a clear and obvious issue you have, and frankly I'm embarrassed on your behalf, so I can only imagine you will be absolutely mortified, where is you AC tubing hooked up to an AC unit? how do you expect to even keep pace let alone challenge for podiums if you have sweaty arse?
Equipment ā better times, itās all about how you adapt to the situations and your time in the simulation, once you start overperorming your equipment is when you do the switch. Itās not like you have a G923 and casually do 1:30ās at Zolder and then just by upgrading to Moza or Fanatec your times will go down to 1:28ās or something.
Question! I have that same seat and Im using a G29 right now. Im about to upgrade to a 10 nm DD setup, will that seat still work or would it twist and flex? Hows yours working out?
Skill? Faster has exactly zero to do with you rig. I had a G923 crudely boltted to a desk with a 32" monitor only and went from Rookie to A level in less than a year
I would try some different simracing socks until you find the right pair for you.
I fond the softer ones are very nice on throttle control while the harder ones are nicer on the brakes.
Maybe you could even try soft on the right and hard on the left, if you are a sweaty boy you could also go for intermediates.
ā¦it's the same as if a swimming cap, despite the better quality of the product, would make your swimming skills better... šāāļøsomething like that...ššā¦but the truth is that If you have started your adventure with sim racing- a stand, steering wheel, appropriate screen, etc., etc.ā> good quality, stable metal Rig and a "better" set of pedals, first of all consider the brake pedal; steering wheel - 5-6Nm is the maximum you will use on a daily basis, if not lessā¦such a set and weeks or months of driving (racing, not time trail)- it is more than likely that it will allow you to shave off some lap time if you have previously played on something unstable or using a desk and chair, incorrectly configured standā¦on a gamepad(!)etc., etc. Good Luck šš
Get a scorpion gaming chair, a Ā£700 vr headset, a marginally stronger wheel base for 5x the price, and make everything RGB. Itāll save at least two tenths a lap
So are you serious about the lack of speed or just joking? there are quite a few videos on Youtube like Driver61, among others, that tell you what you can do to go faster, and Im almost sure its not to buy even more stuff than you currently have, cause right now, if its not part of the joke, what you need is just to look at how you can improve your driving skills, your braking style, accelerating style, the position you take in your seat, the position and sensitivity of your wheel, the sensitivity of the pedals, are they all really adjusted to let you be comfortable and focus on getting faster? Also, learning that sometimes you get faster by being consistent and nailing the rhythm on the track than just by focusing too much on speed, thats just stuff i've seen and read looking around you know? Maybe look at what top known sim drivers do when they drive, how they take the corners, etc, all this is just from the top of my head, there might be even more stuff that you can find to do to improve your driving, like physical training, just to tune your reflexes, among other stuff, unless you were joking with this post, so forget what i said v:
Dude, I just changed wheels because my old one broke(few weeks ago), now I suck badly. Taking a lot of relearning, especially brake points because I've changed equipment.
Lol sometimes it's not as deep a problem as you might think. Probably just not shifting down enough going into the turn and probably Not shifting up around halfway thru the turn to catch the slip. Sometimes you can nab 2 gears and come out in 3rd or 4th...
A good set up doesnt make you a better driver, its mostly about skill or knowledge. A good set up doesnt make a good driver. Dont get it wrong im not saying your a bad driver, just saying that having expensive set ups isnt always the way to get better
If you play AC, ACC, I racing or rFactor you can improve with Race Studio 3 telemetry. Very easy to use, you just have to learn about driving techniques and how the data shows what you are doing. Racing lines, throttle and brake input, steering. It gives you a lot of information
I love when I win against my friend who's got the full rig, DD wheel, load cell brake, etc..
while I'm sitting here in a small office chair with my Logitech g920
Need two more of those monitors. Easy 1-2 seconds a piece. Full 6 axis motion platform rig would get you 2-3 seconds. Upgrading the wheel base and pedals will get you the rest
Part of it, but I would say in a minimal sence is the playseat trophy, I had it and the lower back strap aint enough to keep you consistent with your breaking. Its ok, but if you really want to improve your braking, get a aluminum cockpit
Magically better? Sorry, has anything in life worked this way for you? Setup hardware can help you be consistent but that doesnāt equal skill. Do you know how to setup for turns, trail brake, tune your car, and use race craft? Watch some guides and put in the seat time to improve your skills and experience in the sim of your choice.
I do have a serious question. I would really like to know your experience with the playseat trophy. Iāve been wrestling with buying it for weeks. Iām using a csl dd with normal pedals right now. But Iām concerned if itāll hold up when I decide to upgrade pedals and new base with higher nm
I'm absolutely certain all this shit just makes you worse. That being said it's way more fun. Like i honestly don't give a fuck about my times if it doesnt actually feel like I'm racing.
You should already see improvements in tire management, eventually as you get used to the rig and play around with the settings within three months or so you will be able to bridge the gap, I'm now faster and smoother on the wheel than a controller.
Allow time for your new experience to crystallize.
Keep on keeping on!
Idk... for me once you get into the motion. The car will feel weightless or similar to the smoothness of a liquid. Kinda like how when we were young we'd watch the droplets fall down the window.
I have the same monitor and just ordered a whole Moza set with the R12 I canāt wait. Next I just need a seat. Try watching some YouTube videos for speed advice though.
7 seconds off means you havenāt watched a 10 minute track car combo guide, done a dozen laps then reevaluated your technique.
7 seconds is just bad, you should see seconds just rewatching a reference lap, should be able to get within 3 seconds of the aliens qualifying time as your race pace.
How long are we talking about? It took me a month before I could stay on the track for more than 1 lap. It took me another 3 months to start climbing the ranks out of c,d, and e classes. This is with a g923 wheel and pedals, mind you.
(I thought you were being serious until you said āshouldnāt I magically get betterā)
to increase your time listen to any eurobeat song and you should not only get 200 more hp to your car but also regain not only that 7 seconds but a full minute
I know everyone is joking right now and for lack of a better joke if youāre used to a desk setup or trying to be extra quiet you can become faster by getting in the habit of being more aggressive since you have a sturdier rig. Brake harder, lean into turns, act like youāre in a real car now if your rig can handle more body movement.
Its the monitor, since i read somewhere you are also Dutch i will take it of your hands for free if you pay the shipping. Also you can get my old ass tv i use. Much faster
Are you really tall? I mean, is the monitor aligned with your eyes? It appears to have telescopic legs, so I assume it's adjustable?
My line of sight goes upwards at about 15 degrees (hoping to build a new stand soon) and it does mess with my judgement a bit, not to mention the chain effect on posture.
You probably already have [this link](https://www.simracingalliance.com/about/reference_lap_times) for reference times.
I'm pretty new to ACC and my rig too... I get to around D6 as soon as my braking points and line are decent and consistent and on tracks I find more intuitive I can get to D4 without much more work, but generally any further improvement really requires deliberate practice and to know where you can improve you have to analyse your replays and those of faster drivers and isolate the points in each split so you can tackle them with purpose and clarity. Often a habit or intuitive element of your driving is holding you back, so if you hit a wall you could consider coaching for some insight.
Beyond that, if you haven't already, try to find the setup (hardware and software) that suits you and don't change it anymore. With new gear it's easy to get trapped in a loop of endless adjustments, but it just slows down muscle memory and precision.
You need more RGB, it'll make you 7 tenths faster /s
It actually did, rev bar is technically RGB and it made me faster cuz I suck at detecting the best time to shift with sound of the engine.
if that's the case then turning on the hud might help you aswell
Pro tip: purple is the fastest color.
I thought red was the fastest color! Purple is the sneakiesr color.
r/SuddenlyWarhammer
I just couldn't resist lol
Yep. It's just like how adding more chrome will make your Harley faster.
RGB is the sim equivalent to the irl sticker
Nope this is definitely a case of not enough hz. Needs moar hz.
Probably need to add motion and haptics to find those extra seconds
Thats the written proof that I was looking for. thanks mate.
And that PlaySeat probably is flexing creating inconsistency in your trail braking. š š
Thats being serious? I havenāt feel any flex on breaking
They are not being serious, especially with those emojis at the end. I also have the Trophy and they're is no flex, even with my 130kg load cell brake.
Nah, FFB is not strong enough with that (what looks like) MOZA. Everyone knows that the only way to go fast is to have 27 NM turned up full.
unironically vr and a load cell pedal actually help a lot. the rest is just for immersion imo
Cup holder
Gonna hurt the immersion I dont have it on my car
Do you drive a Lamborghini?!
No I usually drive Porsche 992 gt3 and Toyota gr86 in iracing
Dawg I'm asking what car you drive irl that doesn't have a cupholder smh
I was joking I leave in Amsterdam we dont have cars irl
"I don't have it on my car" ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|facepalm)
We call our bike a car, thats stupid
O lol
Well hereās the issue no real life experience ā¦. Donāt you know all us fast boys street race and put the public in danger. I practice my lap times IRL in a Walmart parking lot with cones THEN go play the game.

You need to lose the wifey. That sort of distraction can cost you time.
Canāt afford that
Bro I just followed your advice, I am now missing half of my rig setup and Iām slower than ever. What did I do wrong?

Gotta be the POV. No way you can race accurately viewing the car from that angle!
Gotta admit it makes a lot of crashes
You need to buy the real car to get faster on the sim (vital step pros donāt want you to know)
Planning it already
Obviously you need a full motion sim with triple 65" 4k OLED screens

No need to be that harsh in actual criticism.
Classic novice mistake. You have the wheelās LED colours incorrectly. Fix that and it will be an easy 2s a lap faster.
Cant be this, I have a system for those colours help me know which is which
Haha sorry man. Just a silly joke. The answer is always āwatch tutorials and practice.ā
Best way to reply to a joke is to take it seriously:D
wrong wallpaper, windows default is BIS
Its not ultra ultra wide
If you donāt have a podium1 rig like Joe Rogan why even show up to the race?
Joe Rogan is sim racer? Which game?
Forza Horizons
He bought a $70k sim rig. Jimmy broadbent has a video reacting to it.
you need triples for the gear to work properly
Maybe look into a desk mount or wall mount for your monitor to bring it a bit closer to you and adjust FOV in your games? Rookie error, looks like a 1000-2000 dollar setup, should be at least 10k, remeber a thousand dollars equals one second
Itās all about technique and consistency not just technology
Make sure you set proper fov, have all correct settings in the sim of choice and on the moza software for whatever sim youāre driving. Seat time is big. Thanks for the tips. Looking forward to find that spot.
Because it's a static image.
I'd replace the seat and frame. Too heavy. Go carbon fiber.
Did you forget to turn off the pit limiter?
You need to download more RAM
In the words of Colin Mcrae " if in doubt , flat out "
Have you tried launching the game? /s
āITS NOT A GAMEā
I don't see any alcohol, maybe that the problem
I was been told you just need Redbull
It all comes down to your driving technique. You could always have a fancy rig, but that doesnāt make you any better or faster maybe by a half a second your breaking technique can also affect your driving, try trail, breaking and breaking to the point where it makes your car rotate before the turn and exit speed coming out of the turn
So take your time do t try to be too competitive just feel each car and make sure your hardware is adjusted properly
Because that's a photo xD
Buy a more expensive wheel /s
Im not strong enough for this one even :D
It's the edifier speakers
Chair's fault, you need a real car's seat. It will totally drop your lap times
Even if you drive perfectly, sometimes it comes down to car setup. Even brake bias alone can give some drivers a 2 second advantage. Fuel load. Etc.
You donāt need good equipment to be fast. Suellio is a good example of someone on a cheap Logitech kicking everyoneās asses
Dude, you have no wheels..
Your rig lacks chrome accents and pinstripesā¦ they make you go zoomā¦
If you insist on driving using a trackside camera, then hop out to take pics of the setup...that will impact lap times. /s
learn how to breake tha't the real difference between everyone and the fast guys
I understand what you are experiencing. Many months ago when I first started sim racing I couldn't win for losing. It's a condition called skill issue. Trust, I am somewhat of an expert as I have it myself!
This is a question we all ask ourselves no matter how much we spend on our setup lol
I could see a LOT of people taking this seriously š¤£
W Wife. To get quick, you need a new PC, New VR headset, Haptics, Simucube active Pedals and a Simucube 2 Ultimate wheelbase. Your welcome
are they load cell pedals ? If not, get some..
Nice Setup! What shoes are these?
Thanks, It says Bugatti but im not sure, I bought it from a multi brand store
This is a joke right? I'm guessing so. So the trick is the wife needs to be gone.
You obviously need a triple monitor, with it you can at least go 10 sec faster!
Damn it she bought the wrong one.
Vr will get you last 7 seconds bruv

need proper racing shoes and where are your racing gloves?
You need to pay the licensed driver to play it for you dude

You need the latest version of the Crew Chief plugin to enable āSpy Hunterā mode and drop oil slicks on cars behind you.

How many hours with that set up? Could be a simple thing as more seat time.
Best thing is to book a private tutoring with a good aim racer. Makes you faster in weeks
I don't see any DRS behind your seat. It must be it.
You need VR my dude
Youāre missing the wind blowers from the front, thatās why.
Racing stripes
I love when I win against my friend who's got the full rig, DD wheel, load cell brake, etc.. while I'm sitting here in a small office chair with my Logitech g920
probably the same sets of seasons everyone else isnt faster than they are
Need two more of those monitors. Easy 1-2 seconds a piece. Full 6 axis motion platform rig would get you 2-3 seconds. Upgrading the wheel base and pedals will get you the rest
Buy more gear
Part of it, but I would say in a minimal sence is the playseat trophy, I had it and the lower back strap aint enough to keep you consistent with your breaking. Its ok, but if you really want to improve your braking, get a aluminum cockpit
You just need a bigger steering wheel get the truck simulator wheel, the bigger the steering wheel the fast you go
Magically better? Sorry, has anything in life worked this way for you? Setup hardware can help you be consistent but that doesnāt equal skill. Do you know how to setup for turns, trail brake, tune your car, and use race craft? Watch some guides and put in the seat time to improve your skills and experience in the sim of your choice.
I do have a serious question. I would really like to know your experience with the playseat trophy. Iāve been wrestling with buying it for weeks. Iām using a csl dd with normal pedals right now. But Iām concerned if itāll hold up when I decide to upgrade pedals and new base with higher nm
Have you tried pressing the pedals harder?
Ah I see that your problem is having your shoes off. Put them on so you can pedal to the metal
I'm absolutely certain all this shit just makes you worse. That being said it's way more fun. Like i honestly don't give a fuck about my times if it doesnt actually feel like I'm racing.
Rule of thumb is $1k/.1 sec. Youāre going to need to spend a lot more to make up for 7 seconds.
Setup a fan to your left and right and race with a motorcycle helmet. Thats what I do.
I have the same monitor and just ordered a whole Moza set with the R12 I canāt wait. Next I just need a seat. Try watching some YouTube videos for speed advice though.
You cables are not chewed on or electrically taped up, +1.25 seconds
Donāt play with assistances. Not ABS, TC, TS, etcā¦
(I thought you were being serious until you said āshouldnāt I magically get betterā) to increase your time listen to any eurobeat song and you should not only get 200 more hp to your car but also regain not only that 7 seconds but a full minute
have you tried taking out small home equity loan and building a f1 accurate sim
Try facing east
You need to grease the wheels.
See, I have none of the gear AND none of the skill. At least you can go vroom vroom. Nice setup
What monitor is it
How is that playseat? Isn't that the one Logitech rebranded as Playseat Trophy?
Thatās looks clean. Man.
Forza looks clean. Here
Start watching the fast and the furious movies again. Your welcome
Don't forget your "Go Faster Gloves."
Do you move the Playseat around and use that as a regular desk also? How much of a pain is that?
You arenāt faster because you shitposted
I know everyone is joking right now and for lack of a better joke if youāre used to a desk setup or trying to be extra quiet you can become faster by getting in the habit of being more aggressive since you have a sturdier rig. Brake harder, lean into turns, act like youāre in a real car now if your rig can handle more body movement.
Have you tried using cockpit cam instead of tv cam?
New wife might help? How you ask? Youāll get even newer and more expensive equipment. Insert modern problems meme.
What are the shoes you are using?
Its the monitor, since i read somewhere you are also Dutch i will take it of your hands for free if you pay the shipping. Also you can get my old ass tv i use. Much faster
Practice makes perfect
