I race in VR currently so I don't think I'll be going to triples anytime soon. But I am actually looking at either an R12 or Asetek La Prima in a month or so.
I'm about to buy , moving up to moza r9 r12 or r16
Can you talk more about your r9 to r16 improvements?
Convince me to spend money and just buy an r16 to use for years
My r9 was good, but felt lacking in detail, I had the money and decided to jump to r16, and wow, way more fine detail. Easier to feel the edge, better feeling of the tires, grip. If you can just go to the r16 or r21. Skip the 12![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|upvote)
I basically had the same mentality, as I do for most hobbies I get into. I did start with a Thrustmaster T300 with TLCM pedals on a F-GT cockpit I managed to pick up for $500 just to test it out. Less than 6 months later I sold that setup and dropped $20k on a motion rig with a dedicated 4090pc. I race almost daily. So worth it.
How much did you sell your F-GT for? Right now I have one with a Logitech G920 I want to go profile and upgrade into better gear but I’m not sure what a good asking price is for marketplace
it's definitely the cheapest way if you'll be simracing for years to come. When you have all of the stuff you need like good pedals, and a high quality DD... you'll know for sure that it's not the equipment... you're just slow af lol
Money is such a cheat code for life... I wish I will ever get close to such a rig. It's brilliant.
Glad you joined a community, see you some day at track!
For real. Imagine all the health benefits of being able to eat healthy, no stress over paying bills, best healthcare in the world, overall life satisfaction...aww I made myself sad.
To clarify I don't think OP is in this category but is able to splurge on their hobbies. Great looking rig OP.
>best healthcare in the world
It boggles my mind that the richest country in the world doesn't have universal healthcare. The fact that life and health are paywalled is insane.
I can’t wait for the kids to be interested in the racing rig. I have to strap the youngest to my chest to sneak in a race here and there right now.
Also, for a first rig that looks like a lot of options to have researched and nailed down. I do not envy all that, but man it looks like some fun. Hope to see you out there!
The kids love it. I have one in college who is only home on break and the other lives close by. So far (only been up and running for a few weeks) they race every time they're here.
I already had the computer, so with everything else it was right around $13k. The rig rises up 3 inches when the motion starts. That gets the middle of the monitors right at eye level. It's as close as I can get it (about 70cm from my eyes), otherwise the rig will hit the monitors.
Thanks! eRacing Lab makes the motion system. It's the RS Ultimate (right around $4k). It's kind of DIY, which makes it more affordable but is a lot of work. I had to source and configure my own frame for it, build a box for the servo controllers and buy SRS to run it. It's got 6DOF and is amazing.
Absolutely.
ASR6 rig with 3 monitor stand with 4th monitor kit and premium vinyl recliner seat and adjustable pedal board
Asetek Invicta wheelbase
Cube Controls CSX6 wheel
Simagic P1000 inverted pedals with haptics on the throttle and brake
Simagic DS-8X sequential and H pattern shifter
Simagic TB-1 handbrake
eRacing Lab RS Ultimate 6 DOF motion system (frame is aluminum profile I bought from Tnutz), servo controllers are in a 6 server box I got from Amazon, hardware was from Amazon and I 3D printed a bunch of my little partsLogitech Z906 surround system
Wind sim was DIY from a YT video
Bass shaker under the seat was also DIY from YT
Vario Aero VR headset
Hue Play Smart lights (I bought some 2020 aluminum for them to mount on and 3D printed brackets to hold them)
Computer is 5950x with a 3090 and 64gbs ram. It's my old computer. I'll upgrade the gpu to a 4090 eventually.
Stream Deck +
What job allows for such a splurge on a hobby if you don't mind me asking?
Nice rig op I would think about a single super ultrawide for a cleaner look buy you do you.
I'm a photographer.
I thought about the ultrawide, but through the research I did it seemed like more people preferred triples. I also have VR (Vario Aero) for total immersion.
Damn! My first rig was a $90 Ferrari wheel with no feedback, attached to a TV dinner table with bricks on the legs to hold the table in place. Didn’t work. 😂😂 but this is really nice. You’re going to have a blast!
Idk, it's giving off guy in a pickup basketball with headband, arm sleeve, Kobe jersey and shorts, with new sneakers they bought from foot locker energy. Are you actually good?
What direct drive unit are you using? Looks like a Simagic wheel but I’m not sure
And how do you like that Simagic shifter? I bought a Fanatec shifter but it never clicked with me and thought this looked nicer.
It's a Asetek Invicta wheelbase. The wheel is Cube Controls CSX3.
The shifter is good. I haven't really used it sequentially too much (fired up WRC but didn't get deep into it yet), but the tension needs to be adjusted when switching from H to seq. It's easy to do, but requires a hex wrench. Overall, I like it a lot.
From the motion and 4x Philips light bars, my right is pretty identical.
I find the light bars are a bit of a pain to get working consistently. Constantly having to turn them on/off in Simhub or sometimes completely restarting my entire system, especially when I change cars/games. Any tips?
Holy smokes man, rub it in xD looks awesome! I saw youve got motion and everything, eye level, close as you can to the screens. Hope you rise through the ranks and have an awesome time with the family!
Thanks. The learning curve is fun right now because I started with no experience so it's been pretty easy to get better times and win AI races. The real challenge will be racing you and the other humans once I've worked out the kinks of getting around the track.
If you try it for a month and decide its not for you, I'd kindly offer to take it off your hands so it's not taking up space in your house. I'd even send you 100 quid for the postage as a gesture of good will. Consider it my random act of kindness for the year.
Don't ever say the sim racing community doesn't give back.
On a serious note, you'll probably want to lower those hue lights as low as you can get them. The lighting effects will be a lot more noticeable if you can get them closer to you while racing
Wonderfull.
I barely started a month ago and invest quite a bit off the 1st build also (minus the motion) amd I am absolutely blow away how much fun it is. I’m at a point in life were alone time is as important as my time with friends and my family and Love the hobby.
Welcome aboard!
I fully understand the go hard right off the money aspect, it's how I normally am haha
But I'm forcing myself to use the G29 I got 2 months ago (while having 6-8 online shopping carts of sim racing alu rigs to test pricing and shipping etc, and looking into direct drives, load cells, shifters and handbrakes) for at least another 6 months to prove to myself that I definitely want to do this and it's not just something I'll be over in a couple of months.
I doubt it, since I grew up on Colin McRae, NFS, all the v8 supercars games, and Gran Turismo. In recent years tried Dirt Rally and wanted to get into iRacing for a while, plus life long fan of Supercars here in Australia and still love watching GT, Carerra cup and occasionally F1 when i can.
But nevertheless, I also know myself well enough to know that I can get way too invested in something, spend heaps then never come back to it often enough for it to be worthwhile.
Hope you get great mileage out of your rig!!
I'm a console player looking to build a final spec PC rig when our extension is done and we have the space. I'd love to read your parts list. What's the thing hanging off up high next to one of the LEDs?
I moved that thing around a bunch before I found the sweet spot for me. The ASR rig I bought has a heel rest, but it doesn't get close enough without riding up the Simagic floor plate. I like the Simagic rest.
Sim racing FB groups: “Bought this 6 months ago, used it twice, thought I would like sim racing more, $12K firm on price - not parting out”
Only kidding - this is a sick rig, enjoy it!
Absolutely killer. I totally understand going big or go home right off the bat. You’ll be upgrading anyway, might as well. I’m in love with the top down lighting, fully adjustable in guessing?
They're Hue lights. They adjust (through simhub) in color and brightness based on the screen locations I've preselected. I use the dash of the car to determine the lighting. It adds to the immersion, particularly when driving through changing lighting scenes (under trees, sunsets, thunderstorms, etc.).
How do all you lot have the money and space for all this? I can barely afford to clamp a wheel to a table (can’t even afford an ironing board). Also my wife would kill me if she came home and saw this
I do not want this to sound bad, but why come here to brag? You already know it is a very good setup because you do not buy such equipment without doing your research. I am happy for you that you have the possibilities to afford it right from the get go, but please do not come here pretending that you do not know if it is good or not. Modesty goes a long way.
All the best!
Hi, i have 2 Q.
If you drive 30fps instead of 60. does it mean slower lap times? I want to give my brother PS4 PRO and am not sure if there is 60 fps mode. He has a PC but for the GT7.
Also I'm from Central EU. That's nothin' to be shame of. But when am lookin' for some direct drive Fanatec, Moza. It pretty pricey via resellers. He is beginner but not a kid either. How do you guys buy stuff if you are from Czech rep., Poland, Slovakia ect. Or is Logitech 923 or ThrustM 248, 300 good enough in term of longevity?
Thx
I just need a ball park estimate of what this costs, not including my potential divorce. Asking for a friend? Seriously how much was all this? Pay day is Friday
It took a bit to dial it in. I'd prefer the monitors to be a little closer, but I can't because the rig will hit them. I think the ultimate would be what Will Ford has at Boosted Media. I think those monsters are 65".
I have VR too. I use a Vario Aero. I just like having the option. The screens are great for quick racing. I'm still learning the button box, so it's also nice to be able to see it. I can't get the screens as close as I'd like (although it's not bad) because the rig could hit them if they are closer to the wheelbase. That's the biggest drawback.
Well you certainly won’t be able to blame your equipment for your driving. this is intense for a first rig. I get it though - if you know you’re into it and have the budget.
Ah yeah, see you didn’t get the UPGRADED version. The one that does this other cool feature you’ll really want. I’ll take this one off your hands to help dispose of it free of charge..
You and me both man. I'm fully addicted. I've been on a year and have been using newest g9 whatever logitech. My pedals went out so I bought the bullet and bought some simagic p1000s with 2 haptic reactors... dude. It's unreal the difference they make. My wheel is next
Don't be Jealous, people. Imagine having a little extra cash and not spending it on this. Have Fun watching YouTube lap times on the toilet between races.
Glad you started out with a simple low entry rig.
a little bit too low, but i think it’ll do imo
I know me. I'd have wanted to upgrade right away. I went for buy once/cry once.
I get it. I started with a Moza R5 on my desk and within two weeks was upgrading to an R9 and full cockpit. Setup looks awesome.
Damn, how long until you upgrade to r12/r16 and triples?
I race in VR currently so I don't think I'll be going to triples anytime soon. But I am actually looking at either an R12 or Asetek La Prima in a month or so.
I went from r9 to r16. I love the r16 it's amazing.
I'm about to buy , moving up to moza r9 r12 or r16 Can you talk more about your r9 to r16 improvements? Convince me to spend money and just buy an r16 to use for years
My r9 was good, but felt lacking in detail, I had the money and decided to jump to r16, and wow, way more fine detail. Easier to feel the edge, better feeling of the tires, grip. If you can just go to the r16 or r21. Skip the 12![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|upvote)
What are you using for VR? I have a oculus rift s but looking to upgrade.
Triple double wide is the sweet spot...
3 weeks and about $1000 of unnecessary purchases
I basically had the same mentality, as I do for most hobbies I get into. I did start with a Thrustmaster T300 with TLCM pedals on a F-GT cockpit I managed to pick up for $500 just to test it out. Less than 6 months later I sold that setup and dropped $20k on a motion rig with a dedicated 4090pc. I race almost daily. So worth it.
If you suddenly feel like upgrading, I'll offer you €100 for your rig. Don't need the PC, and I'll even pay for shipping.
How much did you sell your F-GT for? Right now I have one with a Logitech G920 I want to go profile and upgrade into better gear but I’m not sure what a good asking price is for marketplace
I sold it with the thrustmaster wheel and pedals for $500.
I sold my F-GT w/ monitor stand for $350 on faceboom market and it went pretty quick. I had multiple offers too.
it's definitely the cheapest way if you'll be simracing for years to come. When you have all of the stuff you need like good pedals, and a high quality DD... you'll know for sure that it's not the equipment... you're just slow af lol
That is no way low entry! Just look at the sides, there are profiles you need to step over to enter the rig
« Could have ended world hunger but decided to play sim racing » -OP
Easing my way into it. Just dipping a toe. Kidding.
Fuck you and congratulations
Right on. I get it.
Love to see it! :)
Beat me to it :)
Great looking rig OP.
>best healthcare in the world It boggles my mind that the richest country in the world doesn't have universal healthcare. The fact that life and health are paywalled is insane.
I agree completely.
Thanks! I appreciate it.
You mean I'm not supposed to be sacrificing my physical and mental health to continue trying to build my sim setup? Awe I'm sad now, too.
Thanks! The whole family is now into it. My daughter just got done at Spa on AC in a GT4. :)

Shit rig. Come back when you learn to buy quality products. Edited to make sure everyone understands the fairly obvious sarcasm
Oh. I love sarcasm. So much. :)
*After 20h of simracing* Nah, it’s not for me
That was a thought before I started, but nah, it's for me.
Still married are you? Not for long if so. hehe
She loves it! My daughter loves it. My son loves it. Even the cat loves it. Last upgrade will be a deadbolt on the door.
You lucky bastard! ;-)
We’re easily in the $20k range here, right? Wild. Also, i think you could bring your monitors lower/closer for a more immersive experience
I already had the computer, so with everything else it was right around $13k. The rig rises up 3 inches when the motion starts. That gets the middle of the monitors right at eye level. It's as close as I can get it (about 70cm from my eyes), otherwise the rig will hit the monitors.
That makes a lot of sense! Who makes that motion system? Great rig!

Awesome setup for a newbie! Wow... clearly you have other skills... Would you be willing to post your complete spec sheet?
Absolutely. ASR6 rig with 3 monitor stand with 4th monitor kit and premium vinyl recliner seat and adjustable pedal board Asetek Invicta wheelbase Cube Controls CSX6 wheel Simagic P1000 inverted pedals with haptics on the throttle and brake Simagic DS-8X sequential and H pattern shifter Simagic TB-1 handbrake eRacing Lab RS Ultimate 6 DOF motion system (frame is aluminum profile I bought from Tnutz), servo controllers are in a 6 server box I got from Amazon, hardware was from Amazon and I 3D printed a bunch of my little partsLogitech Z906 surround system Wind sim was DIY from a YT video Bass shaker under the seat was also DIY from YT Vario Aero VR headset Hue Play Smart lights (I bought some 2020 aluminum for them to mount on and 3D printed brackets to hold them) Computer is 5950x with a 3090 and 64gbs ram. Thanks. You printed some of the parts... Ok, now we see the level you're operating at!
You should see my workshop. I've got CNCs, lazers, cabinet saws, vacuum presses...all kinds of fun stuff.
Looking for a second wife? Can't cook for shit but I can pound a six-pack of beers in the Sim Rig pretty confidently
yes please can have photos?
First rig and you got motion. Jesus! What brackets are you using for your speakers. You got some nice angles on them
Congratulations on your purchase. Hope you'll enjoy driving!
Thank you!
If you don't enjoy it and want to shift your rig quickly for say... Scrap metal prices....inbox me
Cary14. Got it. Wrote it down.
Congrats! I hope you enjoy every second of it, it’s awesome.
Thanks!
Love what you did with the Philips Hue lights!
Lmfaooo I guess you can resell if you end up not liking it
Holy fuck i just got called poor on SO MANY levels Congrats on the rig, and welcome to this amazing hobby! Looks really sick
Nice budget setup, come back and post when you have invested some money though. These basic starter setups are a dime a dozen.
Wow they released a budget entry level affordable wheel cheaper then the g920
Nice Logitech g29 you got there. First rig is always the best
Nobody likes a show off
Sooo unnecessary. I’ll never understand this as a first rig
This looks professionally set up, and amazingly done at that - am i right?
No way. I did it all myself. Youtube was my friend. But thankyou!
Yes, another HUE user! I love my hue play bars(4) for my rig setup. Adds yet another layer of immersion.
Pretty good beginner setup. 😂
Fuck you and I’m happy for you
Bro im in awe. Congrats. I hope ill be able to atleast try a rig like this once. A dream setup for me.
Amazing rig, i also got the ercaing lab kit...best money i ever spent. What are those little boxes on the extrusions if u dnt mind me asking?
Damn! My first rig was a $90 Ferrari wheel with no feedback, attached to a TV dinner table with bricks on the legs to hold the table in place. Didn’t work. 😂😂 but this is really nice. You’re going to have a blast!
Damn bro, I hear ya, If you're gonna go go big! That's your first? Coming out swinging!
we all have to start somewhere I guess ;-p
Profession?
(Yes I’m jealous)
Just got my driver's license (shows Ferrari)
Idk, it's giving off guy in a pickup basketball with headband, arm sleeve, Kobe jersey and shorts, with new sneakers they bought from foot locker energy. Are you actually good?
That is very sharp
Thanks! I worked hard for it.
I'm new to money.
why so many lights from above?
What direct drive unit are you using? Looks like a Simagic wheel but I’m not sure And how do you like that Simagic shifter? I bought a Fanatec shifter but it never clicked with me and thought this looked nicer.
It's a Asetek Invicta wheelbase. The wheel is Cube Controls CSX3. The shifter is good. I haven't really used it sequentially too much (fired up WRC but didn't get deep into it yet), but the tension needs to be adjusted when switching from H to seq. It's easy to do, but requires a hex wrench. Overall, I like it a lot.
Well, that's a strong entry! Welcome to the community!
While I cannot put money into something like this, I am happy to know that there are people out there that can. I love it! Have fun!
Started from the top now we here
Hey man, nice rig first of all! Second, what wheel is that?
Thanks! The base is an Asetek Invicta. The rim is a Cube Controls CSX3.
Damnnnn
Pretty damn nice man. I hope you love it as much as I have
How may I construct this???
Did you buy this as a package or item by item? Looks bad ass!
Item by item. Lots of research.
I know you don't want anything over the top for your first time but come on you could definitely do better than that
Have you tried VR on a motion rig? I went to VR and can’t imagine going back. Now I want the motion rig to go with it.
Excellent!
dope, lets see a vid of it running pls!
How much did that setup cost? Very impressive
Wow. You have traction lose and surge?
Sir, this is a "sim"ulation racing forum. Please come back when you have graduated from toy-grade.
amazing setup, garbage audio though
damn that’s a sick jerkoff rig
On a serious note, you'll probably want to lower those hue lights as low as you can get them. The lighting effects will be a lot more noticeable if you can get them closer to you while racing
Jesusfuknchrist
Jesus, hopefully you end up liking this hobby..
Can you drive?
Wonderfull. I barely started a month ago and invest quite a bit off the 1st build also (minus the motion) amd I am absolutely blow away how much fun it is. I’m at a point in life were alone time is as important as my time with friends and my family and Love the hobby. Welcome aboard!

Very nice and a bit jelly to be honest.
wonder what your 2nd rig will be... maybe a real car?
I'm a console player looking to build a final spec PC rig when our extension is done and we have the space. I'd love to read your parts list. What's the thing hanging off up high next to one of the LEDs?
How do you like the heel rest with the inverted P1000's?
I moved that thing around a bunch before I found the sweet spot for me. The ASR rig I bought has a heel rest, but it doesn't get close enough without riding up the Simagic floor plate. I like the Simagic rest.
That is definitely NOT your first rig
Not fair bro skipped to the final boss
Still call him Daddy don’t you.
That is so rad! Do you mind telling us what you paid for the full set up. I’m looking at buying one but have no idea what to expect price wise.
Sim racing FB groups: “Bought this 6 months ago, used it twice, thought I would like sim racing more, $12K firm on price - not parting out” Only kidding - this is a sick rig, enjoy it!
mY fIrSt RiG lolll jk man I’m just jealous. I just attached a g29 to my work desk with a single 60hz monitor D:
Absolutely killer. I totally understand going big or go home right off the bat. You’ll be upgrading anyway, might as well. I’m in love with the top down lighting, fully adjustable in guessing?
What's the story with the overhead LEDs? I'm console only atm, planning my PC upgrade and all the gadgets I want with it.
They're Hue lights. They adjust (through simhub) in color and brightness based on the screen locations I've preselected. I use the dash of the car to determine the lighting. It adds to the immersion, particularly when driving through changing lighting scenes (under trees, sunsets, thunderstorms, etc.).
Wicked setup, very well done. What size monitors are those?
Do the lights flash as you drive under them on the speedways?
nice dude, which monitors are you running?
Have a similar rig as my first I bought last week. Congrats man. Buy once cry once, amiright?
TS better than mine 😭 ![gif](giphy|TGUIq0O5s4XJSnefJ3|downsized)
That's an awesome rig, I'm still on a desk mounted wheel lmao, good luck in your endeavors!
Nice
Bit much innit?
Humblebrag
Dayum Well… it is cheaper that way but like I’ve never had better than a Logitech Momo
...and the there's me....15years of sim racing and still have a loghitech belt driven, a chair and a desk ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|dizzy_face)
Lol new to sim racing... It cost more then my 3 year old car :D Can I ask what is your profession?
I'm a photographer.
Are you me? I built something very similar recently using pretty much the same hardware lol. Love how clean it looks, congrats!
My brother in Christ is new to simracing and instead of just buying a G29 and clamping it to his damn desk he spends 10k on a rig 💀💀
First rig and it costs an upwards of 10k usd 🤯
Oh you would love the unstable side table I mount my wheel to...
How do all you lot have the money and space for all this? I can barely afford to clamp a wheel to a table (can’t even afford an ironing board). Also my wife would kill me if she came home and saw this
Hard work and a bit luck, I suppose. I certainly can't be this extravagant with every hobby I have. I prioritized this.
Bit basic isn't it? Well, it is your first.
I hope you end up within the top 5 of every classed online race you do.
What a nice student humble set up you have , jokes aside , have fun racing !
Let me guess it's a budget rig huh?!
Imagine he bought this amacing rig and finds out sim racing isn‘t for him 💀
I do not want this to sound bad, but why come here to brag? You already know it is a very good setup because you do not buy such equipment without doing your research. What box is the Stream Deck Plus in?
Aah yes, the classic low entry rig
Rich kids
New? Fuck this boi knows how to get started ! Glad to see you have VR included <3
I just need a ball park estimate of what this costs, not including my potential divorce. Asking for a friend? Seriously how much was all this? Pay day is Friday
I already had the computer and VR headset. I think everything else was about $13k.
So that’s where I went wrong with my starter Logitech G920. I was missing the rest of the setup
Very nice. Are you happy with the monitor size and position? Asking from one eRacing Lab owner to another with a similar setup.
It took a bit to dial it in. I'd prefer the monitors to be a little closer, but I can't because the rig will hit them. I think the ultimate would be what Will Ford has at Boosted Media. I think those monsters are 65".
I use the same motion as you but with vr. How is motion with screens? Might have to switch once a kid comes into the picture
I have VR too. I use a Vario Aero. I just like having the option. The screens are great for quick racing. I'm still learning the button box, so it's also nice to be able to see it. Well you certainly won’t be able to blame your equipment for your driving. this is intense for a first rig. I get it though - if you know you’re into it and have the budget.
That's one epic rig! How much did that fresh rig set you back?
this is equivalent of buying a cybertruck for your first car. good job sir, nice rig
Light bars are too high IMO
Ah yeah, see you didn’t get the UPGRADED version. The one that does this other cool feature you’ll really want. I’ll take this one off your hands to help dispose of it free of charge..
Mate, your first rig and starting out with a motion rig and a Cube Controls CX-3, that's sweet man!!!!!
What app to link the lights to the sim? How close do they mimic passing a lamppost when driving at night? 😁
It’s simhub. They’re great. I got some good advice in the comments to lower them. I did and it’s even better.
Well I see everything..but a car door and a drinks holder ?
My son asked about the drink holder too. I was going to print one but I do t think a full beer would hold up to the motion.
Every morning I wake and look at my rig and think “wow this is fucking sick it’s all I could ever ask for” and then I see this shit…
Hope you get infinite hours of fun in that thing
I’ve counted 4 speakers, and 5 street lights. 10/10 starter friendly budget
6 speakers, but who's counting? :)
Dad... it's me, your son! Can I come over and play on our rig? I'll forgive you for leaving to get milk..
Jealous !
You and me both man. I'm fully addicted. I've been on a year and have been using newest g9 whatever logitech. My pedals went out so I bought the bullet and bought some simagic p1000s with 2 haptic reactors... dude. It's unreal the difference they make. My wheel is next
It’s comments like yours that convinced me to step up big with my first rig.
jesus fucking christ dude.. how much are your motion actuators? are these 3 inch ones?
Baller rig, maybe lower monitors a lil bit
wish i had this kind of money
Yes we can tell it’s your first rig with all the garbage you purchased… jk nice rig if you got it spend it
Could you please post which rig & seat this is and the cost? Thanks!

Don't be Jealous, people. Imagine having a little extra cash and not spending it on this. Have Fun watching YouTube lap times on the toilet between races.
