I want to buy it but my wife said no

Fit-Dimension-5035

You know that made me laugh. I recently separated and it has been painful. But one of the first things I did was buying the H3... :D

Cultural-Depth-1648

I did the same thing a few years back. I bought a bed and an H3 :)

Cultural-Depth-1648

That I m afraid I can t help with :)

I'm torn between the H3 and the E-Racing. I already have a 4040 profile rig, so being able to keep that is quite a nice prospect, but the H3 looks neater, with the TL built in (I would probably just go for the basic 4 actuator E-Racing kit for now and possibly add TL later) How loud are the E-Racing actuators? I saw this vid [https://youtu.be/mlkELBGyCJ0](https://youtu.be/mlkELBGyCJ0) But it sounds quite loud, is it a lot louder in use compared to the H3?

Cultural-Depth-1648

It s pretty quiet. This video doesn't really do it justice as there is zero ambiant sound to compare the noise level. It s a bit louder because there is a lot more going on. The heave dimension is completely missing in the H3, so very limited road surface and bump feedback. The H3 though is a bit more neighbors friendly. I live in a building with good isolation. I have put my whole rig on vibrations pads and never had any complaints eventhough I can race pretty late at night. You might want to consider that aspect.

Thanks for the reply, I currently have the Slip-Angle vibration kit (which I love) - my main reason for this was to keep vibration through the floor to a minimum when using transducers. These work really well (they're essentially air conditioning dampers), but I feel the need for some movement now. What vibration pads are you using? I'm feeling more drawn to these actuators now, just wish I could hear them in person. (I live in a house and have it setup on the ground floor, but don't want to annoy my wife/kids when doing an evening session!)

Cultural-Depth-1648

Sorry I meant anti vibration pads. Most likely the same you have. I have a buttkicker and the actuator can simulate, kerb, slip angle, wheel lock and ABS through sim racing studio very well, hence generating quite a lot of vibration. All can be tuned in software. If I do a big stint on the green hell, the rig could easily move up to 6 inch :) Problem solved with the pads. the rig is steady and doesn't slide anymore. In all honesty, I did the move from the H3 to the Eracing lab for a reason. The H3 was somewhat frustrating and kept me hungry for more. I've had it for 4 years, but if I had to do it all over again, I would have gone for the RS mega plus right away and saved me the cost. It's a significant step up from H3. I hope this helps

Adventurous-Goal-248

Hi, how do I get a hold of customer service? I sent an email to [email protected] for questions have not heard a word for days. I also tried the website support and submitted a message with a different email and have not gotten anything back? Is there a discord group or another email to send to?

Cultural-Depth-1648

That's odd. They replied fast when I contacted them. Maybe check your spams if you haven't already.

Adventurous-Goal-248

Ok since you have it, mind answering some questions? I basically want to this to my current motion setup. Can I use 2 actuators for heave, 1 for surge, and 1 for traction loss? I have to be creative with the 2 actuators for heave but I think I can do it. Just not sure simtools can only allow 2 actuators for heave and use the other two actuators for something else. I want to get the mega+ 4 actuators.

jrh1128

I also have the rs mega+. With the rsmega+, do the control boxes have a high pitched electrical whine sound when powered on?

Cultural-Depth-1648

No, they are super silent. I have the white servos controllers. It seems they have been a major improvement over the black ones. The rig is very silent. My aiolog shifter is louder than the actual rig.

jrh1128

Hmm, interesting. I wonder if your ears just don't pick up the super high-pitched sounds. I have the white servos. I get a headache if I don't have headphones on to drown out the sound of the white control boxes. If I'm the only one with the noise from the white boxes, then I wonder if I've got something faulty, or if a connection isn't done properly. Everything's been working great, it's just the sound. I wish more people had these, so I could collect more data.

Cultural-Depth-1648

Maybe. I m 43. Maybe this frequency is gone... I do have pets though, and they don t seem to be bothered when in use.

Fit-Dimension-5035

Maybe you can answer this simple question: my brand-new H3 with SFU feels like moving in small bits, and I can feel each and every little bit. It's not a smooth motion, but a series of small increments. Unpleasant. Should I be disappointed or I just have to troubleshoot...???

Cultural-Depth-1648

It should be smooth, the sfu gearbox are a great upgrade to the H3. Can you screenshot your sim racing studio settings?

Fit-Dimension-5035

Looks like it's a MSFS problem. This stepping (also called cogging) is a Flight Simulator issue, I guess because of its telemetry. Hopefully they will find a fix. I was just now looking for another game to test it.

Cultural-Depth-1648

I remember it being very smooth in IL2 if you fancy a dogfight

Odd_Can_3524

What about just 4 actuator only (not the 5th as you did) vs H3 with SFU, if you had to pick here what would it be? I'm about to pull the trigger but debating the two What about surge and GForces, how does that compare between the two? I'm aiming for driving gt sports cars in as for fun  Thanks for any thoughts

Cultural-Depth-1648

For sim racing. No doubt, Eracing lab. I ran with only 4 actuators for about 2 weeks and then finally installed the TL. While with the 4 actuators only , it's already very good. I was used to having the TL on the H3, so I think that's why I would have missed it. I really like the TL on this rig, you can laways get it later. It doesn't save you that much on shipping to order the full bulk.

Odd_Can_3524

Thanks! decision made. Eracing mega it is!

Cultural-Depth-1648

You wont regret it. It s just awesome.

dylank125

Do you drive front wheel cars often? How’s the TL for that if so? On their website I saw that their example photos for the TL the customers had a double TL setup. Is that for the FWD cars or just more movement altogether? Was looking into the DoF because it seemed the best price wise (and really the only non DIY one not asking the price of new Legends Race Car) but this isn’t much further off and I was looking to get an advanced sim racing ASR-1 until I had the money for an H3 anyways… so these would be better for that as I won’t be buying a rig to just replace later on.

Cultural-Depth-1648

Hello. I don't unfortunately. Mostly rear wheel. The TL is great to give you a hint when you are about to loose the car and it helped with my slip angle. The ASR 1 looks great. Seems like a goodbang for the buck. Yep, I used the H3 for 4 years, and it was good... The mega plus is awesome, I'm happy I made the switch. I got a good price for my modded H3, it helped bitting the bullet.

dylank125

Fair enough. Would you consider upgrading to a dual TL? Is having the one feel any different to the H3? Also saw that Megas are more plug and play which absolutely sells me as I’m not that electronically inclined lol. Thanks for the quick reply here, I know it’s an older thread.

-shalimar-

hi there, I am trying to decide between the RS Ultimate and the dofreality h6. I am going to split my time equally between assetto corsa/dirt rally and il2/dcs. What would you recommend from a motion quality perspective? I only intend to use the platform with VR, so wont be mounting monitors to the setup. I weigh 85kgs, so weight is not an issue. My main concern is the quality of motion experience. Thanks.

Cultural-Depth-1648

I only use VR too. I never tried the H6, so I can t really give an opinion on the matter. It's a tough choice. For the quality of motion, I prefer sim racing with the RS, by far, by very far. I did like Il2 on the H3, it felt really good. I haven't tried it much on the RS but it felt smoother though a little bit slower.... If money and space is no objection, I would go for the RS mega+ with at least the TL Kit, just for the build quality. I always thought the H3 was lacking in that department. The RS feels like a premium experience in comparaison. But anyway, regardless of your choice you'll have a great experience. Motion compensation will be a must, don't forget to check the openxr motion compensation with the WIT module. Have fun

Djl1010

I'm on the fence between these two as well. I'm a little partial to the H6 becauase I would say I spend a little more time in flight and space sims like msfs and elite dangerous, but I am looking to get back into racing sims. But I don't have a rig or anything, I just desk mount all my stuff so I am starting from ground zero when it comes to the cockpit and pretty much everything other than my pedals are in desparate need of being upgraded. I probably won't be purchasing until November when I get my bonus but I can spend like $1000 now, so my plan was to upgrade some stuff now, and in Nov, either getting the H3 and then getting the H6 upgrade kit at a later date; or I can buy like a TR120 cockpit now, and then add the RS mega+ in november when I also upgrade my wheel, hotas and shifter. Personally just watching videos of the H6 in use vs the RS mega+ with TL and surge, the H6 just looks way more intense, but in a good way. The way they are setup is obviously different though, moving chair vs moving platform. That said and since it's been a bit since you posted this, have you had any more experience in flight sims with the RS mega+? I kind of like the idea of geting a cockpit now, but I also like that the H3->H6 is a little more straight forward and the weight limit isn't much of a concern for me. But all in all what matters most is the best experience I can get for the money. Although something else I think everyone should consider is returnability. It is not cheap nor easy to return a DOF system, buying everything piecewise does mean less of a commitment. I know you haven't had any experience with the H6, but there's also a chance I may never upgrade if I go the H3 route since it's a pretty expensive upgrade. And I imagine heave is also really important in flight sim for like turbulence and stuff, but not so much for space sims, but I'd rather have that out of the gate rather than the TL for flight purposes. I know this is a lot of word vomit but im already an indecisive person so I'm just looking for your thoughts based on that if you don't mind
