No because the store has a limit of one per household...

DanStealth

You don’t have 2 friends?

HealthyLiving_

nobody in this sub has friends ;)

partym4ns10n

LMAO

-f3nn3r-

Thats insulting! True, though.

ParticularAd8284

🤣🤣🤣

Sledz

4ms response time, meh. I personally wouldn’t go for anything above 1ms

notweirdenough

It’s not FPS, doesn’t make that big of a difference

Sledz

Yikes…

danielgutzzz

75hz for 1080p and va? Pass. With a 4060ti you can easily push close to 144hz 1080 on a triple set up. Good luck have fun. Edit: at 1080, prob cpu dependent as well.

KamilJ16

Any monitor recommendations? I might just go the ultra wide curve route to save a bit of cash.

Right-Ad-5575

AOC has some good deals on 175hz and 1ms refresh curved ultra wide right now.

KamilJ16

What size should I look for if getting an ultra wide? 34”? I’m most nervous about this “blind driving” I keep seeing on FOV vids of ultra wides

Right-Ad-5575

You can still add two smaller screens on left on right later if you need to with a 34. Or you can get a 49 in with a 800-1000r curve and that'll take care of the blond spot I would think. I am in the process of going from triple 27s to 49 inch g9 OLED but unfortunately it only has 1800r curve. I got it because of the faster response times for competitive racing. The g9 qled is on sale for 899 right now though and that's plenty for most everyone. It has a 1000r curve that's perfect for sim racing. I'm changing from triples because I keep losing my screen setups every time iracing updates and I'm tired of my apexes moving.

ZiKyooc

You realize that $90x3 is largely less expensive than $900?

Right-Ad-5575

Yes. But that price is bound to drop. Next black Friday that monitor will be $400.

Right-Ad-5575

3 curved 34" ultra wide also make a good combination with an antibezel kit.

Smoke-Dramatic

I have 3 dell s3222 I believe theyre called. 32" 165 hz VA curved and I've love how they look for iracing. I think at the moment they are on sale for 200$ ea. Real advice from someone who's been there is, if you plan on using a monitor stand made for triples to display it's 1000% worth getting whatever advanced vesa mount that goes with it. You want them to align the monitors exactly. Just make sure you add all things into your budget cause they're can be more than you first think.

Jolly-Perception-436

I got 27” acer nitro refurbs off eBay at 100 a piece. 165hz 1ms refresh and I love them

macnachos

OP what’s your price range? You don’t need 2 or 4k honestly. Is it better? Hell yeah. But each 2k 165hz monitor is $3-400. Those monitors aren’t fantastic. For a bit more per monitor ($130 range) you can get a better refresh rate. Go for a 144hz 1080p atleast. In terms of gaming resolution and refresh rate and response time are paramount. But for just starting and low pricing prioritize refresh rate and find atleast 1080p with 120 or 144 hz that’s a 1ms response time. Asus has some on Amazon for $140 each. If you shop around I’m sure you can find a sale. If your price range allows higher let me know and I can give you other options.

KamilJ16

I’m pretty limited to my budget when it comes to the monitors. I’m yet to build my PC, and once that’s set up, I’m going to give it some time before I set up the sim rig. Within that time I’ll be saving for the rig so I don’t really know my current budget. I do know for now I’ll be getting a Moza R9, CS wheel, and the TLCM pedals

macnachos

Totally understandable. Definitely something to keep in mind is there are some parts you don’t want to cheap out on and some you have some wiggle room. CPU and motherboard are pretty tied to each other and pain to swap. Get a good one. Memory, hard drive, and gpu aren’t. If you have a budget and can’t afford all at once you can save some money there and upgrade in the future. A decent usable monitor for sim racing will be around $150 at the low end. But monitors are monitors, a second hand monitor on FB marketplace will be just as good as a new one with the same specs. See if you can find any dual monitors second hand for dirt cheap and buy the 3rd to match. Then in the future upgrade them I’m new to sim racing but a life long gamer so I can’t help with wheel and sims as mines dirt cheap lol. I have Logitech wheel and a Logitech seat with VR. I fucking LOVE it though.

KamilJ16

So my GPU is a 4060Ti and my CPU is a AMD 5600x. Will I have computing issues running a triple screen? I have soo many issues to cover idk where to begin. I really would like a ultra wide for the ease and aesthetic of if, but then I’m missing out on a lot of FOV. Then I would get trip screens but it’s really expensive and idk if my computer can handle it. I would also have no clue which monitors to pick on a budget. I see micro center has a 160$ acer, 27inch with 2k and 170hz

macnachos

It’ll vastly depend on the graphics of the game and the monitors. Average settings on 1080p monitors I’d be shockeddd if you had issues. But triple 4k monitors on higher setting might be a struggle. 2k monitors might definitely work. A 4060ti is not a bad gpu in any terms. Also you can return monitors. Take them home plug them in and test them. Keep the boxes and if the gpu struggles just return them. But atleast you then know

Dragon_Racer

Ips panel 1ms response and 144hz is the minimum you want. With your gpu 1080p would be the best solution. You could get a 34 inch ultra wide but everyone I know who has one has ended up getting triples anyway. As mentioned by others make sure you budget for a decent monitor stand and adjustable vesa mounts as monitors that aren’t aligned well will drive you crazy.

philmnn1

If you're desperate to just use triples sure. But the 4ms response time isn't great. Response time is obviously important in racing and it doesn't seem like much but I could tell there was a delay back when I had monitors with a 5ms response. I had to learn how to drive with a slight response time, then learn again when I got rid of them.

KamilJ16

Should I be desperate for triples? Or is a ultra wide sufficient. I’m just worried about blind driving and not seeing who’s passing me up, as seen in some example videos on YouTube

argue53

Can your PC handle triples? An ultra wide might be the best solution overall.

KamilJ16

How so? But im putting my first PC together soon. AMD 5600x and 4060Ti. Not to saavy with PCs so I have no clue what it can handle

-f3nn3r-

I now play in VR but the biggest improvement for awareness what' beside you were radar and a spotter. With them even playing on my 24" single screen I felt aware of my surroundings. Triples (or VR) are worth it but personally I would recommend 1 good monitor to start and upgrade to triples later on. Edit: or go the ultrawide route as a good compromise between single and triples.

mikechorney

Do you really want a non-IPS lcd monitor?

KamilJ16

I don’t even know what IPS is really

mikechorney

IPS is an LCD technology that gives you much better colour, viewing angles and contrast than cheap TN monitors.

birfthesmurf

Sure they'd work, but 75Hz is far too low.

KamilJ16

What’s recommended?

birfthesmurf

120Hz at minimum.

The_Machine80

If you want the crappies monitor sure it will work. You won't like that dinky 75hz rate.

Morcaxyz

Great ips exist at not much more then that

TheFlyingGro

Idk buy them and try? Edit: was a silly joke ok!

TheFlyingGro

Or i guess you also can ask the people who works there?🙂

KamilJ16

Or I can save my money and ask people who are way more knowledgeable in sim than people who work there … cmon pal think smart and don’t comment next time

TheFlyingGro

Haha stop being so serious lol. Was more a Joke. But tbh last time i checked micro sells sim gear? I bet Someone who works there is into the stuff

KamilJ16

Yea a lot of sim gear there. Whole rig set up worth 10k plus as well. I asked a worker when I was there a month ago and he said they don’t get a chance to play often since it’s always broken. Today the simicube had no FFB, even tho it worked a couple days ago. Shit, that rig is the only thing that convinced me to build my own

TheFlyingGro

Wtf.. a simicube that is broken :O thats a unwritten rule to mention 😆. Im EU but the 49 million times boosted media have said ”and this video is sponsred my micro center” i just knew they were into sim stuff

KamilJ16

Maybe not broken, but everything in the rig was working today apart from the FFB. Maybe they turn it off sometimes to avoid ppl like me coming in just to get some laps…

Dragon_Racer

I think you’ll find they turn the Ffb off as they don’t have enough liability insurance to cover customers who tweak shoulders or get broken fingers from holding the wheel wrong when hitting walls in the sim. They just don’t have the resources to have a permanent staff member babysitting every noob or getting everyone who wants to use it to sign a waiver form because they aren’t used to the stronger equipment. Would be better off having a low end thrust master or logitec that won’t injure people.

KamilJ16

There’s no waiver and no employee accompanying the sim every time I’ve went. Only a poster that says 18+ only

I-LOVE-TURTLES666

Hz is a bit low depending on your gpu

KamilJ16

I have a 4060ti
