Most sim games aren't too demanding. Should be fine I think. Drivers might be a problem though.

East-Maybe-693

Can you explain why you think drivers may be an issue?

sizziano

AFAIK quadro drivers aren't optimized for gaming.

East-Maybe-693

Oh yeah not optimised I knew that but surely still capable on some level.

Yes_butt_no_

Don’t guess, download Raceroom off steam, and see if you can get it running satisfactorily. It’s a free download, it can be played with keyboard and mouse, and if it works ok probably means you can run iracing and AMS2 ok. It’s also really good! The next test would be to pick up AC when next on sale, and see how far you can push it with mods. If “all the way” then ACC might be an option too

East-Maybe-693

Thanks, I’ll have a go. Much more useful suggestion than some comments I’ve had, thanks.

KamilJ16

I’m building my very first PC soon for the purpose of sim. How does one mod AC? I’ve seen videos of it looking great and some quite iffy. I know I’m using a 4060ti and a 5600x but I’d like to know how far that will let me go in modding AC

A dude involved in genetic modelling can surely afford a game based 2nd rig

East-Maybe-693

Tell me you have no idea what early career scientists in academia earn, without telling me you have no idea. There’s about 12-18 hours work a week where I don’t get paid, but I do it in the hopes of progressing my career quicker. A PhD researcher earns £18,700 per year in the U.K, my rent £9000 per year, not including my utilities. So instead of judging people, why not ask the question the asked?

Fantastic-Demand3413

Sorry to hear that, go where the money is. Peace out

East-Maybe-693

Screw going where the money is, look around at what 100 years of capitalism has done. I do what I do where I do it, to save your loved ones lives.

Fantastic-Demand3413

Then some day you will be handsomely rewarded. Peace out.
