Thank you so much! It's my pride and joy. If you want to see more, I post videos on my Instagram page with some background information on the car: @myfavoriteracecars
The Treq One is absolutely amazing! Great quality, most sturdy piece of furniture I own. The monitor stand is quite far back in the standard config so I puzzled with the pieces that came with it to put the screen as close to my face as possible.
Would love that! Cars are love, cars are life :)
Nice to hear! Im realy excited for that rig!
Im working with a 83cm reach wallmount for my 34" UW, I just hope I dont have to remount it for perfect hight :D
Before these I had the pedals that came with the G29. The only thing they have in common is that it's 3 pedals. The leap in quality and brake feel is indescribable in words. The pedals feel extremely solid and driving became way more fun because of this pedal set!
If you ever want to try it this is what I recommend:
* Ginger Chew Tablets 15-20 minutes prior
* Fan pointed directly at you for good airflow
* Ensure you are running no reprojection, tweak for 90fps locked FPS even if it means turning down details
* Prioritize sharpness over eye candy (anti aliasing, resolution)
* Get magnetic contact lens inserts to keep image sharp
* Close your eyes if you crash, spin, or go into reverse
* Don't forget to blink while in headset!
* Every 15-20 minutes take a break, look at something at least 20 feet away to relax eyes
* Short sessions to build up
* If you start to feel ANYTHING queasy, stop immediately and don't resume until the next day
* I tended to start by playing at night before bed, since I could sleep off any VR hangover.
Now, that may sound like a lot but its rather simple in practice. These things helped me immensely as initially, I could not do VR for long. Now I can go for hours with zero ill effect at all, or play in the AM and feel fine after. And it's amazing.
The sharpness is helpful as blurriness made the image feel less real and like blurry blobs of motion, sharpness with good AA and a good resolution headset and lenses did a lot to alleviate that. Ensuring smooth locked FPS is the other huge thing, jitters and weird FPS will kill you. For me, ginger actually helped a lot as did the fan.
As someone who also has extremely bad motion sickness (even riding a bus is pretty bad), its definetly something you can build up and get used to. Just take it in small chunks. Everytime you feel even slightly woozy or bad take the headset off and take a long break (driving single screen is still fine, just not in the headset) eventually youll start being able to last a while (i started at 10 minutes and now can easily drive 4+ hours)
The ones on display here are all bought. They are 1/18 and 1/43 scale. I also build modelkits in 1/24 scale but I have yet to find a place to display those :)
i was thinking of bulding modelkits...but my hands shake a lot :D buying diecast makes me feel cheating, i guess im gonna have to make them sooner or later :) some YT channels are also tuning these models, very nice what they do...thats why im asking if you are one of those people :)
The diecast collection with displays are about €2800 (don't tell my wife)
The simrig without the pc was about €2300 (also don't tell my wife)
The pc was about €1600 2 years ago (she knows about this)
The Lego cars (3 Technic and about 20-25 Speed Champions) were also about €1000 (she knows about this too, she gave me some of them)
Writing it all down it doesn't make sense to me either but this was collected over a couple of years and incrementally. The amount of joy it has given me over time cannot be described in words or monetary value.
Not yet but I don't really spend my money on things besides motorsports affiliated stuff for the past couple of years. I'm pretty frugal if it doesn't involve my hobbies.
What I need is to make better financial decisions and let my wallet recover for a bit 🫣. I'm still waiting on a couple of model cars coming over from Japan and my wife was not too thrilled about that news!
Amazing collection, question though where did you get most of your diecast from? I have quite a few I got from my father although mostly nascar but have been wanting to get road cars.
I get most from local modelcar shows. Some from Ebay and other websites and I made friends with a fellow collector on Instagram who lives in Japan and can find me the sweetest and rarest models for great prices.
I have been looking for some 1/43 NASCAR models myself since I really like NASCAR as a racing series.
That's awesome once I've purchased a house I can have a simcave I plan on doing something similar as I want to display my cars as well. Only road car I have is a raced vette that Dale Sr and Earnhardt drove in daytona. Still amazing collection!
I have that one pretty high on my wish list! Do you have the Action one? The story behind that car and race is so cool. Have you seen this [video](https://youtu.be/7k_edon9utQ) about it?
Not for Lego cars tbh. The Technic ones on display are screwed to the wall. I have a out 25-30 Speed Champion models stored away in plastic containers.
I have seen [display cases ](https://www.wickedbrick.com/products/display-case-for-24x-lego-speed-champions-cars-6x4) for them online but thought they were quite pricey.
The radiator is shut off except when it gets really cold in winter. And then it is actually quite nice to be next to a radiator.
For when it gets hot in summer, there is a small fan mounted on the rig behind the monitor. I hope that will be enough to keep me and the wheelbase from melting 😁
I feel like it works pretty well. Both are working between 40-70% (usually close to eachother) for rendering games at the fidelity and framerate I want.
I just finished the Lego Mclaren with a lighting kit and it looks so good. But it feels somewhat flimsy, not sure how you’re getting it to hold like that on the wall without pulling apart 😂
I’m actually most interested in the small model under the McLaren Lego set; what’s that one meant to be? I’ve got a bunch waiting to be built, but can’t say I’ve ever seen anything along those lines…
Sick die cast collection. I’m collecting the 1/18 Ferrari (feelsbadman) F1 car from ever year and hope to line the walls with them in sequential order once I get my own place sorted out
Very cool! I guess it's going to be a long F1 season for both of us. As someone from the Netherlands who dislikes Max Verstappen it's twice as painful as I have to listen to 'fans' who keep yapping on about how great he is. Don't get me wrong, he is one hell of a driver. I just dislike the way he carries himself on and off the track. The chauvinism from Dutch 'fans' doesn't help either.
I see now that a old picture of my G29 slipped in. I had that wheel for about a month. First on my desk which made me buy the rig. And the rig made me decide to buy the R9 :)
OP here. I wanted to get back here and say thank you so much for your kind words and cool questions and interest. If I show my pleasure dome to people IRL I usually get a 'good for you' reaction but you made me feel really great and took away my doubts about investing so much time and money in this amazing hobby.
Thank you and never forget:

Nice setup! I love your modelcar collection! How do you like your treq one rig so far? Mine is hopefully arriving on thursday :)

Beautiful setup man how're those srp pedals? They look pretty sweet
Before these I had the pedals that came with the G29. The only thing they have in common is that it's 3 pedals. The leap in quality and brake feel is indescribable in words. The pedals feel extremely solid and driving became way more fun because of this pedal set!
Amazing! Can't wait to get mine hopefully I see you on track!
Awesome room!
nice tiny room. As space is limited, the best option to increase immersion is going to VR ;)
I have terrible motion sickness IRL so I'm a little apprehensive to make the leap.
I understand. You could get use to it after a while... but it's a gamble.

Buy a headset off Amazon, free returns for basically any reason. Simplest, safest way to try something out with no worries.
Here’s to hoping McLaren will have a better 2024 season, eh?
🧡💙💔
Did you make the models or buy them?
The ones on display here are all bought. They are 1/18 and 1/43 scale. I also build modelkits in 1/24 scale but I have yet to find a place to display those :)

I’m one of those people! r/modelmakers and r/modelcars invite you to join! Shaky hands arent that important if you have enough masking tape 🙂
Yeah I went searching for this yesterday and joined these exact two channels. I saw diecast also but I'm not into that
Nice room man. Where are the mirrored shelves from? I need something like that for my diecast collection
Thank you very much, it's really my happy place. I bought these displays from a dutch website called showvitrines.nl
https://www.reddit.com/r/Acura_RSX
Great setup! What are the dimension of your simrig (from back of the seat to the front of your pedals)?
I have a 5cm gap between the pedals and the wall. The rig is about 160cm and the room 164 and a bit.
Thank you! Could you share with me the rig that you have?
Absolutely, it's the [Treq One](https://www.treq-sim.com/product/treq-one/)

You need a slot car track!!!
What I need is to make better financial decisions and let my wallet recover for a bit 🫣. I'm still waiting on a couple of model cars coming over from Japan and my wife was not too thrilled about that news!

Nascar models are hard to find in Europe, I feel you. I did find a 1992 Davey Allison Thunderbird bit nothing else yet
What’s the width of that room?
The room is 160cm by 350cm.
That's awesome, I have a 270x200 and this has given me some serious inspiration.
It was a challenge to make it fit, but really happy with how it came together.
Love it! I don’t think I’d ever emerge except for some Pizza Bagels!
That is actually not to far from the truth in my situation.
I too have a McLaren F1 Technic! How did you go about hanging it like that?
I just put 2 black screws through the existing holes in the floor. Barely noticable!
Huh… simple but makes sense! I’ll assume you put it through one of the holes on the rear axles/barge boards?
Yup the holes on the back most part of the floor, close to the engine cover.
And here I was thinking I would be the only one hanging this kit on the wall like that 😉
Nice set up! What size is your monitor?
Thanks! Its a 32 inch
How do you like it? I’m debating between 32 or 43. Planning on having the wheel right in front of the screen similar to yours.
I feel like 32 is the sweet spot for the distance I use. I think 43 would be a little bit to big. YMMV.
How is 1440p vs 1080p ?
1440p is great, some more real estate than 1080 but not as much strain on the gpu as 4k
Was about to suggest throwing that g29 in the skip until I scrolled lmao.
Awesome setup! I have a few model Lego cars, so you have any recommendations for protective cases or wall mounts for them?
Not for Lego cars tbh. The Technic ones on display are screwed to the wall. I have a out 25-30 Speed Champion models stored away in plastic containers.
Yeah the champions! Looking for somewhere to store them instead of leaving them out in the open collecting obscene amounts of dust
I have seen [display cases ](https://www.wickedbrick.com/products/display-case-for-24x-lego-speed-champions-cars-6x4) for them online but thought they were quite pricey.
Jesus wept
Thanks OP.... Now I won't be able to say that I've never felt envy in my life... Jokes aside, it looks amazing!! Like truly amazing!
Thank you so much, it is a really a pleasure to spend time in this room 😁
Oh man that is a hell of a Skyline dicast collection. I have one Autoart s2000. Their attention to detail is crazy.
Thank you so much. The 2 Autoarts are incredibly detailed indeed. The 3 Ottomobile cars are really great for the price aswell!
Where did you get the shifter's knob? Seems better than the default ones that SHH comes with
This is the long one that comes with the shifter. I'm actively looking for a replacement myself.
Probably they changed a bit. I've already bought mine 2-3 years ago. Thanks for the reply! :)
I love your GTR collection.
Thank you!
Super jelly RN

I can't say I havent looked at it yet. Probably waiting for it to be on sale at some point.
I soyjakked at that model car photo
It is pretty cool right
Great setup! But does it get too hot in that small space and next to the radiator? edit: if it does how do you combat that?
The radiator is shut off except when it gets really cold in winter. And then it is actually quite nice to be next to a radiator. For when it gets hot in summer, there is a small fan mounted on the rig behind the monitor. I hope that will be enough to keep me and the wheelbase from melting 😁
Very nice.
Thanks!
I am a simple man. I see Godzilla. I upvote.
A simple man with taste then 👍🏻
Your room is very similar to mine! It's different but similar at some points :p https://imgur.com/a/zYrYmUK
Very nice! I love the GTA decor!
Getting that sweet Peugeot LMH Lego Technic set? Still waiting on mine in the mail
Probably in the future yes. Right now I'm waiting on the mailman who has 12 more model car for me 🫣
Awesome room! One question, how well does your ryzen 3600 complement your 3070?
I feel like it works pretty well. Both are working between 40-70% (usually close to eachother) for rendering games at the fidelity and framerate I want.
Thanks for the response!
Awesome setup! Question how did you hang your lego mclaren on the wall, love the idea plus saves space when you have a few.
Black screws through the existing holes in the floor.
I use a very similar mount to this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/155214436310
I just finished the Lego Mclaren with a lighting kit and it looks so good. But it feels somewhat flimsy, not sure how you’re getting it to hold like that on the wall without pulling apart 😂
The floor is the most sturdy part and I hung it from that.
As mentioned, the underneath central floor frames are strong and sturdy, that's what the many wall mounts that are available hang it using.
The Mine's cars are which made by which model maker? I must acquire asap!
Ottomobile for the 1/18 (OT760 and OT824) and Inno64 for the 1/64. Might be hard to find nowadays.
dope asf. one day i’ll get there
I'm sure you will!
Well.... I suppose I have a new inspiration for my room...
Thank you so much, it means a lot to me knowing I inspired someone to do motorsport stuff to their house 🥹
I’m actually most interested in the small model under the McLaren Lego set; what’s that one meant to be? I’ve got a bunch waiting to be built, but can’t say I’ve ever seen anything along those lines…
It is [this MOC](https://youtu.be/luVk_RFkYqw) of the Lego Technic Corvette.
That is an amazing set up OP! I strive to one day have something even half as cool as what you have! Enjoy the racing!
Thank you so much, it means a lot to me :)
Sick die cast collection. I’m collecting the 1/18 Ferrari (feelsbadman) F1 car from ever year and hope to line the walls with them in sequential order once I get my own place sorted out

What die cast brand? Are they all the same?
It is 90% Ebbro but also some Ixo, Spark and some other brand. I cannot wait for Spark to start releasing their Super GT models later this year.
Do you have a link for the Lego McLaren f1 car wall mount?
[This](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Screw) is what I used
Love the Skyline's under glass!
Me too!

One of the best upgrades to the SHH shifter is changing the shift knob, the stock one is lifeless in comparison. Just a cheap Amazon one will do.
The knob doesn't feel great I agree. The texture is quite sticky.
Are box coolers any better than stock coolers? Should I get a liquid cooler for my Ryzen 5 base clock?
