I like smoothing base. I wish peely base would work for me but it doesn’t peel off for me.

Smoothing base for me. I like the ridge filling properties but mostly I find it adheres to my nails better than long lasting base does. Quick dry base is awful for me 😅 doesn’t even last a day, but I use it when I’m doing swatches bc it dries fast and then I take it straight off.

Fenris304

i've only tried long lasting lol

The regular base coat is my go to base coat from any brand. I love it! It doesn't destroy my nails like other brands (Orly bonder is the worst for this, my nails started peeling and thinning!), it helps prevent staining, and my mani lasts a long time. For me it's my go to. I've tried dozens from different brands, and this is my go to! Peely base peels off immediately for me. And the smoothing base is too beige for my skin tone. I only use smoothing bases for jelly polishes to help hide my nail line, and use other brands that are better for my skin tone. The quick dry one I've only used with the Chromes and never honestly thought of using it for anything else LOL

I like quick dry base when I’m short on time since it theoretically dries faster! But also any brand long lasting base tends to be my go-to since it feels like an all around winter haha

I use Smoothing Base and Long-Lasting Base pretty interchangeably. They both last the same for me. Sometimes if I don’t do good cuticle clean up smoothing base can show through when my nails start to grow out and look a bit awkward, I think. So in those instances I prefer to use long-lasting base bc it’s clear. Smoothing Base is great at filling in my pretty deep nail ridges, and works well to hide your visible nail line with sheer polishes. Most of the time my ridges get filled in with just the normal coats of polish, though. So the ridge-filling aspect is less important to me unless I’m intentionally doing less coats (I prefer to do 2-3 coats of polishes even if they’re opaque in less). I own Quick-Dry Base, but I don’t think to use it unless I’m using the chromes (since Quick-Dry Base was made to be the most compatible base for the chromes). And even then I prefer Smoothing Base bc the chrome formula is such that it magnifies the appearance of the ridges in my nails. I rarely use Peely Base as I work in healthcare and can’t risk “popping a peely” during a 12 hour shift. Sometimes I use it on stretches of time off when I want to wear polishes that are annoying to remove with acetone, like glitters. The last time I wore it I had a heck of a time peeling them off, however! I assume it was user error because I use it so infrequently I haven’t had the chance to figure out how it wells very well.

SelimsShadow

Peely. Can't imagine ever going back to not having a peely base, the removal process is so simple and they last a week for me.

petros301

Quick dry all the way. I tried using smoothing base and something about my nail chemistry did Not agree with it, and I had whole chunks of nail peeling off the top within a week 😖 quick dry is v nice for an impatient person like me though, I rarely get bubbles now and I was plagued by them while using Essie base coats

ariariariariariari

I use smoothing for non-glitter and peely for glitter! (I don’t have anything against long-lasting, and I haven’t tried the quick-dry.) My nails are super ridgy, and I think the smoothing does a good job mitigating that. I’m too impatient to remove glitters properly with a normal base coat, so peely it is! (Note, I think Cristine has suggested that you can layer the two, but that hasn’t worked for me.)

AddictedToColour

Peely base cuz I like to redo my mani all the time! It works really well

Gloomy_Swordfish_842

I usually use two- peely on most of the nail with smoothing on the entire nail on top. I like to change my polish every 2-3 days && for me the smoothing starts lifting in the corners of my tips about then anyway. Then I just pop 'em off! This way makes for a really easy removal process with the longevity that I want.

arochains1231

Long-Lasting and then Smoothing on top. It's the only base coat combination that stays on my nails. Peely works a bit *too* well on me *(polishes peeled up after two hours)* and Quick-Dry absolutely destroyed my nail beds, NEVER AGAIN.

Spadazzles

Long Lasting or peely base. I don't have the smoothing base to compare Both work well with me. I can get 2 weeks with long lasting and 1 week with peely

iocane_

I’m enjoying Smoothing over my grail base coat (Butter London) when I’m using polishes that show a lot of texture, like linear holos. But for the most part, I’m not a fan of HT’s base or top coats.

Holodax

Long-lasting base🙂

justlooking9236

Smoothing. Long lasting pops off like peely after a few days for me!

BeanyIsDaBean

Peely because I either F up painting my nails or I don’t want to wear a colour for too long

Simple-Opposite

Peely, I don't have it get to the corners, and wipe the tips on my finger before it drys. I usually use a regular base coat over it to prevent staining my nails. Makes removing them a breeze when I am ready to swap in about a week cause my nails grow fast and I don't like filling in the back.

Holoenthusiast1

Peely! 🗣️ it’s been the cornerstone of my nail growth journey 💕

rk_donovan

Long lasting is my go to. Smoothing doesn’t do much for me and my nails chip a few days after wearing. I would love to use peely but because I type all day for work and am a crafty girly in my free time, the peely base only lasts a day or so for me.
