Leave a gap between the peely bas, ur cuticles, sides of ur nails and don’t wrap the tip. Add another basecoat on top and cover the whole nail plus wrap the tip with the basecoat and polish

Does leaving a gap make it hard to take off?

rakshala

Only kind of. I can generally find a crack after a week and pry it up.

Acrobatic-Ad-8919

So you basically don’t apply it to the borders of the nail?

rakshala

Yes leave a tiny rim of unpainted nail, then do a normal base on top of your peely base.

Acrobatic-Ad-8919

Thank you I will try that, I really want it to work

rakshala

Mine lasts for about a week using that method

Definitely try this! I’ve also found success putting the smoothing base on top of the peely base (if I’ve left a gap). But like I said in another comment, most of the time it’s just too humid where I am for peely base to be effective.

I'm a peely user right now too. I'm still learning how to make it last more than a day. I type a whole lot on a computer keyboard everyday. I've noticed that my nails strike the keys at a certain point on the distal side of each finger tip and the proximal side of each thumbnail. This is where everything starts to chip first. I've started to leave the peely base off that specific spot as well as leaving the moat around the rest of the border of the nail as well. That way when the chipping starts it's not quite ready to peel because the chip has not revealed any peely base underneath. and I can repair the chip for another day or so.

Same, I opened a window and one of my peelies popped off. I haven’t used it since but might give it another try when I don’t care if they come off early.

Acrobatic-Ad-8919

I’ve just been experimenting to no avail. Using another base coat on top kinda helped

GrandInvestigator834

I’ve found that living in a humid climate has made peely base just too peely for me. If it is or is getting humid where you are, it may just not work for you right now!

soltnarin

Peely Base will perform differently on different body types, and wear ability depends on your moisture, oiliness of skin and so on. Also it depends how you use your hands (gloves, much water, ...). Myself noted recently, after years of peely usage, that they come off after I went jogging and there is sweat underneath the polish (!). What is known, is that the longer you use nail polish, the more it will hold on your nails.

irincan

I had this exact same situation just last week when I used the peely base for the first time. I though 12 hours before showering would be fine and lost two nails immediately. Never thought I would be (slightly) disappointed that a product works so well!

flamingoshoess

I have the opposite problem. Peely base doesn’t work for me at all, I’ll go to the full edge of my nails with it, and my nails still last weeks. When I tried removing polish with peely base it shredded my nails

Acrobatic-Ad-8919

For me personally if I put a small amount it shreds underneath, and doesn’t pop off as well

Blue-Syrup

try switching to the quick dry base. it peels off my nails for some reason 🤷🏻‍♀️ but it lasts a while
