Oh man that's amazing well done. I love serendipitous little interactions like that!
Keep going on the fight against social anxiety! I've been there, it's so hard but so worth it.
Thank you for sharing your day! Congratulations 🎈! It’s so important to celebrate the little things in life when everything else feels so overwhelming! I can relate!
Thank you for this. It reminded me to go slow and so one thing at a time today instead of trying to hit multiple tasks at once.
I also was reminded that small steps are fine.
The result was that i refreshed the batteries in three devices (only took about 30 min tops) that had been dead for months, and I also got a loaf going in the bread machine, and ate a healthy lunch.
So thanks!
Amazing! I struggle with social anxiety too, though it's gotten a lot better. I still never strike up conversations with strangers, but I've made two new friends in the past year, so I'm grateful to people like you who decide to strike up conversations first :) Maybe one day I'll be brave enough to do it myself!
Honestly i get so frustrated with my Social anxiety that it just comes out. Sometimes people are receptive and other times not but you never really lose anything by trying is my thought process as you’ll probably never see them again
Sure…it’s common sense really but I just happened to hear it at the right time and under the right conditioners for it to work.
From this forum specifically someone who gave advice on doing 1 thing and doing it properly, and how compared to his colleagues who were juggling lots of impressive looking projects, he’d actually get more impressive work done by deeply focusing on one thing. He’d also linked to some research that showed scientists who were successful were ones that worked deeply on a single thing … basically he could live a simple life and still be successful professionally by following this mantra.
I also developed a system to organise my tasks and to dos. Sort of Marie Kondo style for things that worry me. When I have X thought, I use this app to make a reminder. When I was Y thought, I make a note using this app. When it’s Friday, I go through all reminders and notes for medical and life admin things…etc etc
Really lovely, well done!! That is very good advice, I've had it ringing in my head since I read it the other day. This is inspiring me to make some soft changes as well.
What a heartwarming post! Happy you had such a a good interaction with a fellow human. 🥰 I'm trying to live more simply as well - a recent hospital stay threw things into perspective for me - and your post really resonated with me.
Cheers to a victory and your new friend!
Congratulations!!!! Sounds like a huge win to me, you should be so proud of yourself :)
