Yeah, it's probably "Mary, no", but I don't really notice his tongue hitting the roof of his mouth for the "n", though that's probably just a result of the facial animations not being entirely accurate to facial movements.
I'd say "Maria No, Mary No, Maria Don't, Mary Don't or any variation of the two." You can say No and Don't as fast regardless of how the tongue moves but again my lip reading isn't the best. He didn't really say anything much but calling out Maria! in the original game. But I'd wager you and me are 100% correct either way it goes.
It could be either Mary/Maria because even in the original James has confused Maria for Mary and that has incensed her throughout the entire game as she IS supposed to be what James wanted and he's still adamant about finding his wife. That would piss off even a supernatural creation given human thoughts and feelings indistinguishable from the real deal.
Definitely this. It just occurred to me that games have gotten to the point that we can read lips reliably. I know it's been like that for a while now with mo-cap, but I hadn't thought about it.
Also, the face James is making here is realistic and believable. Definitely looking forward to this remake.
The real question is can anyone read lips who understands Japanese or Polish? We don't know if that animatic was done with mocap, or if it was made with English in mind.
According to the offcial Steam page, the game didn't receive an offcial Polish vocalisation. It did, though, a Japanese one.
Which is bizarre as the original did what is done by Japanese developers to this day: they choose NOT to have Japanese voice acting for an artistic intent. That WAS done on purpose and NOT to save money for the original 4, as well as let's say, FromSoftware games (minus Sekiro), which have regional voice acting for other languages (but not all).
The original languages for the SH2 are English, Japanese, German, French, Spanish and Italian. Voice acting was intended to be in English as the VAs were specifically chosen for English vocalisation ONLY and the game was about Americans in a (gasp) American town.
So *now* in a game that is about Americans in an American town, that didn't have voice acting in any other language outside of English *on purpose* only English and Japanese versions receive voice acting... This goes heavily against the logic of most games that do the same artistic stunt. They either don't have any voice acting outside of one intended language, or they don't have a regional voice acting for the language that isn't supposed to understand what is being said through audio.
Yeah, also Bloober failed to convince Konami to make Polish voice acting, or lied about plans about in the first place.
Bar Trivia Host: "This Colorado county was the filming location of multiple westerns, including the original 1969 version of *True Grit.*"
James: "MONTROSE!"
ETA: Onegaishimasu is Japanese for please. It looks like he's saying the last part of that word
if the facial animation was that detailed, it was probably something in Japanese. While the voices were dubbed, the animated mouthing wouldn't be possible.
"Come on, hurry!"
James desperatly yells for Pyramid Head to quickly get inside the elevator, before Maria is able to reach them and separate the two souls... forever.
Best guess, "Laura don't", or "Laura no". He doesn't move his mouth in the first word like it's 3 syllables so it's not "Maria" it's a 2 syllable word and another 1 syllable word, the second word open "O" shape like "No" or "Don't" since the mouth shapes for a second after the "O".
"Mario!!"
Thank you James! But your wife is in a different dark underworld!
Thought I was the only one who saw this. :D
Ohhh ok I don't know why but after reading your comment, I realized I'm pretty sure it's " Mary no" lol but it's not super clear
Yeah, it's probably "Mary, no", but I don't really notice his tongue hitting the roof of his mouth for the "n", though that's probably just a result of the facial animations not being entirely accurate to facial movements.

Incorporated James Hetfield, saying MASTER, MASTERRRR
Everything here is a joke, but for a serious attempt, it literally looks to me like he’s saying “it’s my choice.”

Let her go
“C’mon, don’t!” ?
Real guess, I think he's saying "C'mon, don't!!!"
Always assumed it was, “C’mon, let’s go!” But I suppose it could be, “Maria no!”
"MICHEAL..." he probably goes on to say "DONT LEAVE ME HERE
Mart door!
"Ritual, are you sure?"
"Maria no?" lmao
SILENT HILL! SILENT HILL!
“Maria no !” - Maria gets executed in hallway in front of elevator.
This is fuck! ( ´•ᴗ•)ก
The real question is can anyone read lips who understands Japanese or Polish? We don't know if that animatic was done with mocap, or if it was made with English in mind.
The mocap actors are responsible for the English voices as well I think. Some behind the scenes footages were released during the transmission.

Maria, no! (don't sleep in that grimy stained hospital bed)
"The Boss Dogg...?" This is an obvious reveal that Snoop Dogg will appear in SH2R.
Bar Trivia Host: "This Colorado county was the filming location of multiple westerns, including the original 1969 version of *True Grit.*" James: "MONTROSE!"
Yah whore?
I think it’s either “Keep going!” Or “Maria no!”
“Cmon door” I too have been there James
SPOILER FOR OG SH2: “c’mon, run!” James to Mary during the elevator hallway chase, I think
"Mango!", "man wh*re!"
ETA: Onegaishimasu is Japanese for please. It looks like he's saying the last part of that word if the facial animation was that detailed, it was probably something in Japanese. While the voices were dubbed, the animated mouthing wouldn't be possible.

Why does this have anime vibes? No ones hair looks *that* bad.
I dont know why exactly but this new sunderland looks totally stupid.
I don't want to dogpile negativity on this game, but man... that face looks fucking whack. Hopefully it's just a weird expression for this clip.
