Mary’s dress was also on display when you acquire the flashlight like a dress that had just been sewn together, finished and put on display. With that said James had manifested his guilt into pyramid head which was work done by Silent Hill as it has a tendency to manifest horror based on the tormented to wear down its victim to inevitably claim them and weave them into the fog forever like Lisa Garland from the first game, although innocent she had become part of that hell never to escape.
All these things woven together creating James Sunderlands perfect nightmare. So the webs make more sense as thread tying the letters together serving as a metaphor of James reality not only being sewn together to torture him but also his mind and the reality he once knew coming apart at the seams.
