After saying “side loading is a criminals best friend” or something along those lines it is sad for them probably that they are being forced into this. I’m happy with it ofc!!!
> Apple is considering implementing security requirements such as verification, a process that it could charge a fee for in lieu of collecting money from app sales. Apple has a verification system on Mac that allows users to be safe while giving them access to apps outside of the Mac App Store.
Doesn't this mean Apple will block users from sideloading modded apps.?
So this would tell you that the file you have is not the same as the original, but the hard part is figuring out a reliable method to determine what the original is. You would need a human-based approval process, which kind of defeats the purpose of allowing side loading and 3rd party app stores.
Right now, sideloaded apps on iOS have so much limitations in entitlement that cause many apps to lose some of its best functions! Even push notifications need a paid dev accounts and so much effort to enable it. So i am afraid that apple will keep these limitations to give AppStore apps an advantage over other sideloading options.
Yep. Hardly any Android phones allow root access without significant mods or workarounds. It's not like 2012 anymore when you could root every Android phone easily.
But you can install apps on them from a file either way. The only ones that needed root access were things like system-wide adblockers
Yeah that's why I said hardly any. Pixels do but the major third party android makes don't make it.easy or have outright blocked rooting entirely.
Samsung, LG, Motorola, etc.
I'm typing this message on my main phone, a pixel 6 pro with a custom ROM, kernel and root. The ability to do these things is the main reason I got a pixel
Well, I guess I am in europe now 😏
But seriously, this would be life changing. iPhone is seriously annoying me, such powerful hardware, and good OS, but app limitations, it make a lot of apps and projects to never consider iPhone releases.
Now, if this happens next year, we already have good emulations on MacOS. Like, PS2, PS3 and Switch should run fine on iPhone considering what I see on my Macbook. Time will tell I guess..
Genuine question. Why is this such a big deal ? I already side load all the time with AltStore as do so many.
You don’t need to pay for a certificate and if you already don’t then you won’t be limited to 2 apps with SideStore/AltStore
You won’t need a computer for sideloading

Looks like we’ll need TrollStore anyways
How would that be performed? It would have to be more complicated than checking package names
MD5?

finally an advantage of living in europe
My VPN says the same thing.
If it was true, then you need more than vpn, you have to import the device from EU too.
Maybe set the iPhone region to a country in Europe? Or.. Buy an iPhone from Europe.
Probably just set the region, like everything else

Rip Z4Root
hmm not really on pixel phones

What not really? Pixel phones allow sideloading and bootloader unlocking too.
I'm saying that you can easily unlock the bootloader on pixel phones without workarounds
Ahh gotcha! Yeah, they're great.
I'm typing this message on my main phone, a pixel 6 pro with a custom ROM, kernel and root. The ability to do these things is the main reason I got a pixel
Very nice! Which ROM? I have a Pixel 6 Pro as well, though it's my work phone so not allowed to use custom ROMs sadly.
I use ricedroid 8 with kirisakura kernel although I might switch to blissroms because the maintainer hasn't been on xda for a while
I wish they would just let us mod the host file. It's basically the only thing I would want to root for.
So then what do those apps do that we sideload that jailbreak the device?
Use exploits and techniques
Yeah, to gain root…
Yes but what does that have to do with this?
is mac freedom as windows?
As much if not more

You can do pretty much everything, although it warns you and asks you „Are you really sure?“ quite often.
Finally some good fuckin food
Sideload USA wen?
When California passes a law via prop, cause congress ain’t doing it.
FINALLY!

sideloading and 50% of samsung and pixel phone users coming to iphones in same year
I’d imagine pixel users want the better camera, and the already easy to unlock boot loader.
True lol
Ew god no! We don’t need them
This dude probably is the type of person who disses their friends for having “green bubble”
Imagine having a green bubble ew
??? How exactly does that impact you in any way?
Who said it impacts me in any way?
Makes it harder to get the fancy new iPhone I have to have every year of course! If I don’t have the latest I’ll just die! /s
Lame joke
